You know what I said earlier about looking forward to this fight? Blargh. I hate him >=(

Not ONLY is he programmed not to drop the necklace if I'm there, but attempting him with anything less than two healers will unfailingly result in everyone assist training our single healer with our strongest nukes and killing him within the first two MC's. When we go in with two healers? We melee eachother harmlessly and kill him in record time.

This thread is pure comedy, though. Saigone had me busting up for a good 5 minutes =)

This is a great fight. I just blow my mana early then keep it low, when I get MCed I cant cant anything, then just lifetap someusefulness afterwards. If everyone spreads out and makes sure to take him to the tank after the MC end it's pretty easy. It's also great fun! I love shadow labs!

Oh, and no MC issues seem about anymore.

I love dropping all my totems at the start of the fight then killing them all as soon as I'm MCed!

Eventually, I switched to healing and we just managed to get him down. I can't wait to go back with my usual healer though (ToL druid).

I thought that too -- until the AI had me lifetap.

It's still useful to keep your mana low, but not 100% reliable.

Do they not change shapes into other shapes? If not, would that then be a bug?
I have yet to change shapes while being MCed in that or any other fight with a MC. I guess it's shapeshifting is on the do not cast list along with the port spells and 30 min cooldowns.
It's only happened to me once, when fighting pre C'thun trash. I got MCed and I shifted to cat form amd dashed across the room to the group on the other side, ready to destroy everything I see while wearing healing gear before a hunter stopped me with a scatter shot :(

Never had that happen again, but it may been be the distance between me and the player the AI wanted me to attack. Was surprised that it didn't make me NS Wrath someone for once.

As the feral tank, I randomly feral charge all over the place and then melee and make fun of our priest mass dispelling himself. I love this fight.

I got shifted from Bear to caster, to cat, FFF on the priest, shit to caster, shift to bear, feral charge the priest, bash the priest, shift out and innervate myself. Sure I burned a ton of mana shifting, but at least I innervated myself to get it back.

Does MCing still have the possibility to port you to MG? That was annoying, yet amusing.

I managed to get punted the opposite way from the rest of the group before one of the mind controls. Luckily, although I had Holy Nova, the AI decided that I should chase ineffectively after a rogue on the other side of the room. Maybe something to consider, although the positioning for the DPS phases seems to boil down to "get in Prayer of Healing range now, thanks".

Every time I do this encounter my imp somehow ends up at full mana (although he's been fireballing teammates). Anyone else had this happen to them? It's pretty nice, free Dark Pact!

Blackheart Mage Priority List:

Priority 1: I have the wrong armor on. Change it. I don't care what kind of armor you started with, it was WRONG.

Priority 2: Dude, your staff skill sucks. Go beat on someone nearby to improve it.

Priority 3: Nobody near you? Obviously you HAVE to drop a Blizzard or Flamestrike on your own head.

Priority 4: I burned through all your mana last time Blizzard/Flamestriking uselessly? Well, you still have enough left for a Fireball or Scorch! Scorch/Fireball random target. Good thing you're a frost mage, right?

Priority 5: You don't even have enough mana to Scorch someone? Must be time to Evocation. At which point, go to priority 3.

(This is intended as a joke, but is remarkably similar to the order in which the AI chooses to do things when I get MCed.)
Somewhere in that list, you need to add: If Water Elemental is up, engage in epic battle with it; preferably with frost attacks or staff swings.

I hibernated our druid MT. The other time me and another druid were dpsing and we just spent the whole MC clawing at each other. cutest thing ever.

Never had a problem/wipe with this fight regardless of group composition, save for shamengs. The AI is so sweet cause I can run across the entire room to just about to chop on the priest when I suddenly turn to hit the feral tank with 16k or whatnot armor. And while I'm prot, well.... :D

A funny thing though is that the priest in our group tends to get fade used when MC'ed when she's being attacked which leads to them just screwing her and going for someone else. Don't think we've had any time were someone lost even half their hp to being ganged or otherwise damaged during MC. I love the boss though, just cause of the MC, and cause the MC's don't seem to waste my 30min cooldowns now in TBC <3

I hear that. :( Our tank blew Last Stand last night, ironically, only seconds after I warned him to blow all his cooldowns.

It was a multiple wipe night and I walked out of there frustrated...I guess I wasn't intimately familiar with all of these strategies involving strange positioning and letting the tank pick him back up with DPS off, directly following the MC. There has been a bunch of talk in here involving Zerging him, but I just didn't see it. Mayhaps my group make-up was a bit off...

Seems strange, since I've healed through that (and the rest of slab) using a hybrid elem/resto spec, and haven't had too much trouble. I want to make it a personal goal to eliminate as much "chance" out of this particular encounter as possible, just because I loathe him so much.

Keeping totems (except fire) seem to help keep us occupied at bit as well, since the AI tends to want to have us target and knock them out first, especially Earthbind.
