OK, here's the deal. I have 2 "earthstrike" trinkets and I made macros to ensure they are used every time they are cooled down. The macros look something like this:

/use Bladefist's Breadth
/stopcasting
/use Other Trinket Whose Name I Can't Remember
/stopcasting
/cast Mangle

Mangle is meant to be spammed, and so you get flooded with error messages. That's no problem, I installed ErrorMonster and I no longer see the red text in the center of my screen. But I can't get rid of the sound. Oh my god the sound is driving me crazy!!!! You know the sound when you try to activate a trinket when it's not ready? Imagine that every couple of seconds, non-stop, for hours and hours a day.

I want to get rid of it, just like I got rid of the error message itself. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Disable error message sounds in the sound options doesn't really apply, that just stops my character from verbally saying "that item is not ready yet."

...will prevent any text/sound error to appear/be played from when trying to use your trinket.
I've not personally used it.

See you, auntie.

If you can locate the file name of the sound effect being played, you can create a blank wav file, and I believe WoW will choose that file to play over the one inside the MPQ. I found a similar fix to the constant battleground queue sound that drove me into the bowels of a red nightmare. That may have actually been a fix that was linked on these very forums

This might be the mod you are describing:

http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files...pam-sound-fix/

This fixes the error sound from spamming an ability while already doing something, (ie. spamming casted spells like frostbolt) in addition it cancels the BG's queue sound.

This, http://ui.worldofwar.net/ui.php?id=1316

was the download that I used to fix the BG Queue sound, so I can't vouch for the veracity of the one on Curse's site. I'm unsure of the file name for the error sound, though I'm guessing anyone with an MPQ browser could figure that one out.

Thanks for the responses fellas. I guess I could have asked in gchat and Magog could have answered there.

Edit: Nevermind. I know the sounds you're talking about now.

Before 2.0, I wrote a small addon that would allow you to create a maro that had the name of an attack, the amount of energy it used, and a trinket slot, as in:

/script Asgorath_TrinketAttack("Backstab", 60, 13);

It would check the cooldown on the trinket, and it if was available it would use the item. It would then check your current energy level, and if you had enough energy to execute the attack, it would do so. That was my solution to the spammable trinkets, I should really recode it for 2.0 one of these days.

Neither of these things are possible with post 2.0 addons. If you're thinking along the lines of "if <some condition> then cast <some spell>" then it can't be done by an addon while in combat.

Cooldown checks and mana/energy/rage/health checks are also bonked.

Or you could go into the Sound Options menu and disable error sounds there ;)

Are you sure that's not just the Error Speech? As in "I need more rage" "Not enough rage" etc...

Yeah, it just disables the voices for the error messages. The sound that you hear when an item isn't ready yet still plays, even with the voices disabled.
