I support this view. While running stockades for a low level alt in pvp gear with roughly 100 resilience, i got at least several enrage procs... Remember, these are lvl 25ish mobs!

Essentially if you stack resilience beyond a person's crit rate, such that they have no chance to crit any more, but they have an ability that procs on a crit, you are doing them a favor and giving them extra chances to get their on proc abilities.

ie: 5% crit chance, 10% crit reduction from resilience = 10% chance to proc a crit based ability rather than the 5% against a 0 resilience target. Then again, this works both ways with enrage and such, too.

I thought offensive on crit abilities didn't get that bonus, and that the only reason for the % chance of enrage etc was so that stacking resillience didn't hurt *you*.

You know, I may be misunderstanding how it works, then... I suppose I never tested myself.

Do things like Seal Fate proc on "would-have-been-crits?"

Now I'm curious, cause I guess I just assumed that it worked that way.

"would-have-been-crits" simply don't exist. The attacker's crit rate is modified by the target's resilience and then after that happens the game rolls to see the outcome just like in any other fight.

The chance to proc talents (that rely on being crit, not seal fate/flurry) on normal hits was added to avoid resilience negatively affecting your _own_ character. No stat in the game has a drawback that makes your own character perform worse than without, so this is how it was "fixed".

Can you prove this is true? That's not at all how I interpreted the patch notes.

Here's a post I made a while back, right after they changed Resilience in 2.0.7
http://elitistjerks.com/showthread.p...018#post291018

Quoted from that post:
http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=e4epg2.png
"Bladespire Enforcer's Thunderclap hits you for 215 Nature damage.
Your Eye for an Eye crits Bladespire Enforcer for 106 Holy damage."

Eye for an Eye, Paladin Ret talent:
"All spell criticals against you cause cause 15/30% of the damage taken to the caster as well ..."
Mob spells do not crit, yet my "when crit by spell" talent triggered off of a mob spell.

Patch notes from 2.0.7, for reference:
#
# Any effect which benefits the victim of a critical strike will now trigger even if resilience converted the attack from a critical strike to a normal strike; this applies to melee, ranged, and spell. The affected talents, abilities, and items are: "Eye for an Eye", "Blessed Resilience", "Enrage", "Martyrdom", "Blood Craze", "Eye of the Storm", and "Bonespike Shoulder".
