Given the amount of nether dragons I have to kill for my trade skill, I rationalize it as nether dragons = black dragons = insane buggers just waiting to kill us all.

I mean, come on. The black dragonflight got the most screentime of any of the "evil forces" in WoW 1.0. Their original leader is rumoured to be in Outland. There's a bunch of "infinite" dragons in the caverns of time trying to destroy the world (that's what they said during the "tour" would be the result if the interference succeeded), and destroying the world instead of conquering it is pretty much the nutso black dragonflight goal. There's even drakonids with Illidan's orcs outside the Black Temple.

And then you expect me to believe that these nether dragons, who are black dragons mutated by Outland, won't be involved at all?

This is why I am doing everyone a favour by hunting the things down and skinning them and making mail armor out of them

The quest is to kill a mob, but you get given a helper who is an image of the quest giver. His dialogue cracked me up! I think blizzard are doing an A+ job on the quests and I have enjoyed the questing a lot.
Yeah, just hit that one yesterday. His dialogue when he misses is particularly helpful for classes not used to tanking for stuff

Is SoC subject to the "damage is reduced on >10 targets"? I've yet to use it on any significantly large number of enemies, but we've been having serious issues with Illhoof 2.0(AoE damage/mana cost just isn't working out, especially with 20-30 pissed-off imps pelting you with firebolts and interrupting your AoE).

You're really finding it that effective to control the imps with SoC?
4 SoC explosions will kill off all imps who take them (About 30% per bomb).

Agreed.

I'm also very fond of boss 2 in there, although her difficulty is wildly out of whack with the rest of the instance on heroic and probably undoable for some groups. She feels almost like a different game.

I personally like Curator. A long fight that perfectly utilizes a shadow priest. It reminds me of my EQ days of twisting as a bard, oh the memories.

I had a lot of fun with the last two Baron Sablemane quests in Blade's Edge. The next to last the quest chain was "Massacre at Gruul's Lair".

This quest (and all quests level 66-70) I duoed with the same guild Warrior. I was wearing mostly Tier 2.5/Tier2/GM Weaps having only replaced my Neck and Cloak by that time; he was wearing random TBC Blues/Greens and a Zin'Rokh. We were level 66ish at the time, and all the mobs we had to kill for the quest were 67, heavily armored, with 25k hp, and usually came in pairs.

Needless to say, it was pretty tough, but the part that was fun for me was sneaking around the camp. I basically stealth scouted a way to mob, then had to lead the warrior around avoiding patrols he couldn't see. Felt very Thief-ish

Followup to that was "Showdown". What's not to like about this? You knew Sablemane was a Black Dragon, you knew what was going to happen when you called him. Gronn on Dragon action! Still have the signet that starts that fight.

Right, because Rexxar, unlike Sablemane, isn't a black dragon.

I love the ivory hunting quests because it shows the Consortium to be the "anything for a buck" group I was hoping they would end up being.

I also enjoyed the banner quests in Nagrand and ended up spending way to much time planting banners in corpses rather than turn in those quests with any expediency.

I wish that Skettis had some quests though; I find that place very interesting.

I agree. I enjoyed alot of quests in Shadowmoon Valley and the initial Escort quest in Caverns of Time. I am hoping that Blizzard adds more content to CoT and possibly opens up Uldum and Grim Batol.

Tanking netherspite is proabably the most fun I have had in this game in a long time. I mean, being a bear, while jumping in a out of a red laser beam, while fighting a massive ghost dragon and avoiding black zones on the floor of death. plus running out of the room and healing during a banish, then running back in and dpsing, then innervating a priest and battle rezing the lock.

man, never have I felt like i have played a druid to its fullest extent as during that fight.

You can't call a planet Bob!
.
You were missing the () at the end of Feral Charge (Bear), this is necessary otherwise WoW thinks you're trying to cast Feral Charge Rank Bear.

I am a bit dissapointed that thus far none of the "mount only" areas except Socrethars Seat and the Netherwing area have quests attached to them, as well as a fairly large number of named NPCs that have nothing as well.

I think the final event in Arcatraz is really fun, especially seeing Millhouse for the first time and wondering if you're going to have to fight some badass gnome mage.

Defeating Negatron for You, Robot was also immensly fun, though I was disappointed at how easilly it could be solo'd despite being a group(3) quest (as is controlling the Fel Reaver in SMV)

The whole Big Bad Wolf setup was really cute, first the classic "Why, what big <x> you have grandma..." then followed by a truly "OHSH--" moment when he reveals himself and yells "The better to own you with!" A whole bunch of us hadn't seen the encounter before and were nearly killed by our inability to play due to laughter after that. Warbringer in SH is also a lot of fun to listen to as he randomly chases people around and gets "bored" of beating on people.
