PSA: "The Eye"

Okay dipshits. That's not what it's called. There's not a single in-game reference to it being anything other than Tempest Keep. This does not count because there was clearly some confusion over the name of the new BG. Especially as it's directly contradicted here.

If I had mod powers you would be getting probations.

Cartographer has it named as 'The Eye'. Maybe the confusion stems from there.

Or maybe there is an ingame reference you have missed.

Hmm. Can anyone find an official source referring to the TK 25-man raid as "The Eye"? A quick search on my part reveals none.

Though I am not currently able to log into WoW, I thought it appears as the subzone when you approach the giant spaceship-thing. Subzones don't appear in thottbot and the like.

Click on Netherstorm, then hover over Tempest Keep.

I believe this is the source of it being called "Eye of the Storm", "The Eye" etc.

Note that this map contains several errors (or merely didn't get updated as the game was developed), most notably the Auchidoun instance order and levels.

The outland map was one of the first places people saw a lot of these instance names, and it was mislabelled here. Presumably it just stuck around in people's heads, and got copied into some other popular literature, so it's going to be hard to shift.

If you go here http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/calendar/ and click on Expansion button it lists it as Tempest Keep: The Eye.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a reference to "The Eye" in a quest at some point.

I recall seeing "The Eye" from somewhere, but much prefer it being called Tempest Keep.

Blizzard has been really inconsistent, so use this link as your official link and reference:

Duly noted.

Since each of the instance areas have an associated "parent" name, ie: Auchindon, Coilfang Resovoir, etc..., it would make sense that Kael'Thas' instance has a separate name under the Tempest Keep parent name.

Perhaps if there are certain sound effects, or model names viewable in the mpq files that are specific to that zone, they have a prefix indicating the specific instance name.

Those file names helped me decide how to pronounce C'Thun (Kathune was the prefix for certain files), so hopefully there is an indication. This would prevent any confusion when talking about the zone.

*Edit* Nevermind, I guess Blizzard just couldn't come up with any specific name according to the above link.

How about we take a leaf from the Ahn'Qiraj days, and call it "TK25" ?
