I don't want to get into a discussion about this here but I will say that comparing Naxx progression back then to how top guilds perform now is naiive at best. There are a number of reasons why, but the very best guilds right now are better geared, better coordinated and simply having 15 less people in the group means the individual skill level per member is generally much higher. I love how people bring up something like 4HM and argue that since that particular encounter took X weeks to beat means that it's clearly superior to a fight that was beaten in a week in TBC. I can guarantee you if you put any of the best guilds up against Naxx now (assuming they haven't seen it before) it would go down just as fast if not faster than Sunwell content.

The fact remains -- given the amount of gear these guilds have amassed while waiting around after Illidan, coupled with the high quality of the individual members and certain game mechanics means in most cases, developers would be hard pressed to come up with anything that is going to stump a top guild for very long -- it simply won't happen. This does not invalidate the fact that Sunwell was tuned very well straight off the bat and presented no unworkable obstacles to impede progress.

Yes Naxx was an amazing zone, but I wouldn't fool myself into comparing time between bosses in assessing its quality.

To get back on topic, great job guys.

Call it luck, call it providence, it's an awesome piece, and it's still a lot harder to achieve than a kill, simply cause of a dumb luck factor involved... Couldn't have gone to a better hunter, imo

If you compare by days it took to get a kill, sure.

If you go by number of attempts, I'm not so sure. The biggest difference is you're no longer waiting for world buffs, farming grave moss and the like.

True Story #2 -- Manly won the roll on both head and cloak and couldn't figure out which to take, so Gurg started a countdown while Manly was panicking since he never considered the idea he'd have to choose. Finally he snatched the cape up before someone else looted it.

We don't use DKP. Loot is done mostly via /random and compromise among interested players. In the case of the bow, I/we had decided Gonk would get it months ago.

Edit: Also if you think the bow's value is just bag space you're sorely mistaken. It's as big a DPS upgrade as Warglaives are.

I was definately on a streak yesterday. It started with me finally getting the [Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake], then I won the roll for which mage gets to do kil'jaeden, then I won the roll on both caster drops.

[Bug] if you cast Living Bomb on a target, and someone else casts Living Bomb, their Living Bomb will overwrite yours.

Mathematics should dictate your play. Not your personal preferences.
