So what kind of special attacks did that shark have? Or was it just a hard hitting lot o' life shark?

He frenzied like Mag (hunter tranq) and had a large physical-damage AoE pulse through the water. That's about it. 1mil hp, nothing too crazy. Fast fight, easy.
