Dead 'shroom, and the ADD kids jumping around to get into the picture. No flexing tauren, sorry -- Kaubel is really just a casual raider with a "job" that apparently requires him to get "sleep," whatever that means.
This one almost didn't happen. I came in certain that we'd just destroy him, after some dry runs earlier in the week. We had the execution down, so just a matter of some numbers, right? We didn't bother with the Onyxia buff or Hakkar buff or any of that. Just max craftable consumables and GSPPs and so forth. And.... 6% wipe. And... 4% wipe. Note to self: Save a Hakkar heart for this next week. This one is really precariously tuned, and I'd go so far as to say just plain not possible with a 5/5/5/5/5/5/5/5 raid not using external world buffs. But hey, he's dead, and it'll only get easier going forward I suppose.
Huge, huge thanks to the herbalist crew and to our shard-farming warlocks (esp. Butts and Ironis, who were there in spirit, in the form of little green pieces of rock in our pockets), without whom we wouldn't have been able to keep going on our last attempts.

Congrats on the kill. Are there any other US Horde guilds who have killed Loatheb yet?

I believe in Harvey Dent.

Not that I'm aware of. It was pretty funny - within a span of 10 minutes last night we killed him, Afterlife killed him, and Exo killed him.

I was just checking around a bit, and there is a pic up on Overrated's site with them standing over a dead Loatheb. Was posted today, so it was probably late last night I would guess. Either way, an amazing accomplishment for both guilds.

Just one of the herbalist crew checking in. Only put in 20 GSPPs myself, but congratulations!
Regarding the GSPPs, will you need them for every Loatheb attempt?

Oh sweet - they were doing the non-potted learning attempts while their healers got the rotation down when I logged for the night so they're pretty hardcore. :)

yeah, one of our members was at a net cafe with an exo member when they downed him. we got him maybe an hour later i think - then again, i completely lost track of time yelling "group 4 get the spore....group 5 get the spore...POT AND BANDAGE NOW" over vent repeatedly. as i posted on our own site - world 11th i'm sure. we always seem to be right out of the sweet spot on every list when it comes to boss kills. boo for raiding west coast time :-P anyway, i'm rambling. grats!

Curse downed him a few days previous to this, they claim to be the first Horde guild to do so. (curse-gaming.com)

Yeah I think Curse was first overall Horde but I'm pretty sure they are a European guild and the question was about US Horde

Curse is an EU guild. This is all solid "months behind" territory anyway. I'm just glad to have just one boss standing between us and Sapphiron. (Ok, four bosses....)

We killed him at about 3 AM after being so bad we lost half our buffs when the MT died early!

Did EU really get that much of a leg up on us? I've never really differentiated progress between internation and US guilds mostly because I figured 99 percent of the variables were the same.
In any event, grats, one of the first :)
