Healing is boring - Personal thoughts

I will introduce myself first. I've been a resto chaman for 2 years now, raiding through all the content up to the 4 horsemen. I enjoyed healing during these two years. Very much. I spent hours tweaking my spell bar, having numerous heal ranks to use. I was thrilled when i got Faerlina's mace, i remember correctly sayin' to myself " Damn, that will allow me to add 2 more spell to use ".

I loved de-ranking. That was everything i liked about healing : getting better gear resulted in adding more options to my playstyle.

By the end of December 2006, i had 8 different healing spells binded on my keyboard.

Now i heal in Karazhan ... with max rank healing wave and max rank chain heal ... And that's it. The damage output and the new hp-pool renders de-ranking almost useless. My tank takes 3-4k hits, that's my max rank HW. Rogues get cleaved for 2500, that's my max rank Chain heal.

And the new stuff available doesn't thrill me as much. I mean, a +20 healing bonus was a huge deal 6 month ago, it's now a "meh" upgrade.

Does anybody feels healing became boring too.

P.S : this may be due to burnout. I don't know really.

I rerolled from DPS to a shaman and I'm just starting to get used to this whole "healing" business. Making Lifebars go up? Unheard of. Anyway, I find it more interesting then DPS, as a hunter anyway it was normally target, attack, press aimed/arcane/multi in that order feign and move around a bit. Now I need to switch targets, watch peoples health, throw out some lightning bolts at things, but that may just be from the fact that I find shaman have a lot to do all the time. I'm watching totem timers, waiting for the right moment to pop cooldowns, tossing out heals and dpsing. It's varied and interesting to me.

I'm not exactly sure what this thread is trying to accomplish.
