Hey everyone, I need a bit of info from everyone willing to give it. I'm taking Business Stats 2 now and have gotten to a project where I need to perform a multiple regression analysis using 1 quantitative variable and 1 qualitative variable to predict another quantitative variable.
In basic terms, I've decided to attempt to predict average play time (in hours per week) of a World of Warcraft player based on the person's age (in years) and faction (Alliance/Horde). I could have chosen gender as the qualitative variable, but let's be really, it's going to be difficult to find an equal proportion of males and females here. I will be collecting this data set until March 28 and performing the analysis soon after. I should then be able to provide a useful model to determine a player's weekly play time based on age and faction.
It'll be interesting to see how these factors influence play time, so I'll need info from as many of you guys as possible. The more people respond, the better the results. I'll post the results in the next couple weeks for you to look at.
I'm posting this in a few places so if you see it elsewhere only respond in one place and give the others a "bump" to the top until I get all the data I need.
Use this format:
Age (in years)
Play time per week (do your best to estimate, using an average week)
Faction (that your MAIN character is a member of)
I'll kick it off.
Age: 20
Play time per week: 36
Faction: Horde
