Shamans keep you entertained with lots of stuff to do and are usually a fine class to play in raids as long as you don't try to do anything you would expect from a hybrid class.

Healing as a paladin is incredibly boring, at least in my opinion. Pre TBC I was playing a holy priest (up to Naxx & stuff) and I remember well when I had problems with my action bars because I used more than 20 different spells (and ranks of course). Well, paladins have 2-3 spells, FoL, HL and maybe a downranked HL to keep Lights Grace up. Not very thrilling.

As mentioned above its a personal preference and you should try to find out for yourself (maybe any guildies that let you try on their account?). Personally I don't like shamans and druids as healers only because I somehow don't like the green healing. I need holy, white spells.

Key lime pie is my favorite.
