After some Guild drama shortly before BC came out we lost most of our old raid leaders and guild organizers and we are at the moment running a very loose guild with 4 groups rather successfully running kara and 1 but soon 2 groups running Gruul. It seems like most people are happy or at least not unhappy about this. But actually there is one big problem :
I'm(and most other peopledo aswell) currently more than very disappointed with the performance of our Raidleader (He is a warlock).
I took the role as assistant some tim ago to minimize the damage he causes with his actions, but I wasnt very successful either.
To explain this I will give "some" examples :

Discussion

I recently talked to him about wether getting one more druid or one more shaman to the raid (atm 1 resto 1 moonkin, 2 resto 1 ele) and we came to the point wether he wants totems + ankh or 1 br:

- he told me that warlocks nearly don't suffer at all from having no buffs so 1 br is equal to +1 DPS in case of a death and that this is clearly superior to 1 set of totems.
- he didnt want to believe me that i as a rogue loose massive DPS - something around 20 % without my 2 pala buffs + mdw and pots (if not flasked) and thats the case for other classes.
- I told him that BR doesn't mean full mana and that this is a very limiting factor for most classes and it cost a lot of mana to cast it, but he told me that wouldn't matter since most caster are oom when they die anyway and they could take a pot when revived.
- Then he told me that mages and locks dont regen any mana within the 5 seconds after their cast and they dont have the time to wait to get out of this.
- This led him to the conlcusion that mages run out of mana after 3 mins even if they pot on cd and use evocation.
- I ended the discussion at that point.

Raid

We had a raid on Wednesday - Maulgar 1. try - Gruul 2. try with dead MT at 20%, First real attempts on Mag
Annoyances :
- he showed up at 18:40 (I started inviting at 18:30 Raid start is 19:00) this is always the case since he has to be @ his University till then - he cant do anything about this but its still a bit annoying.
- we lacked of 1 druid, someone suggested a druid so he checked his gear and told us what this shit is supposed to be since that druid was wearing green stuff … yes actually green feral equip, the epics were in his backpack …
- he didnt want to ask a druid wether he wants to join our group because he was running a 5-man.
- finally we started 19:10
- Maulgar was no problem - everything fine
- Then first attempt Gruul we were at 50 % with 7x growth so he told us to wipe since we had 3 people dead (I think randoms) and that we are massivly lacking of DPS - some people tried to intervene here but a few seconds later our 2. MT was dead so all melee were doomed and we really had to wipe. On the corpse run he explained us that we were really seriously lacking of DPS. We told him that this wasnt the case at all.
- Gruul dead (more or less lucky but kill was ok with 14x growth and no last 20 % withouth melee)
- I told us that we can kill Mag now since its a very easy fight and has been nerfed and everything.
- It actually took him 1 hour to explain it (and he didnt explain p3 at that point) … so people got bored and startet to wipe the raid with warstomps near channellers and stuff like that.
- We managed to get to p2 with 3.5 channelers down + 1 more or less successful clicking (people started to click like 5 seconds before blast nova and took massive dmg)
- after that try he told telling us that were going to kill him on the next try which caused people to laugh at him on teamspeak.
- he managed to accidently change from run to walk and / on num pad didnt switch it off for him …
- I desperatly tried to explain him why he cant rely on KTM for the adds since our 1. tank is tanking 2 adds but he said that our MT distributes his aggro on a 7:3 basis and that we thereby just have to stay under him and THEN asked our MT wether this is true or not …

PVP
- One of our rogues begged me to explain him that it is impossible to 3-shot a warrior with 10k + hp so I told him that plate mitigates melee dmg heavily but he replied that this shouldnt stop a rogue from 3-shotting a warrior and that he is able to do this with the rogue of this brother …

General
- he generally choses people by gear ( at least 1000 spelldmg for caster and 1400 +heal for healer )
and then sorts them out if they cant do the dmg / heal he expects
- he is trying for about a year now to convince me to spec daggers since sword suck and do no dmg … although I'm topping the dmg-meters on almost every fight for 1 year …
- he always tells us that the next boss we are facing is easy and that he can judge this very well because he watched his brother and that because he helped working out our strategy for AQ bosses
(never got further than Twins then switching over to Naxx)
- he actually has really no clue about other classes and game mechanics but he acts like he knows everything
- he sais that it is not possible to switch people out boss-wise because they wouldnt want it instead of just asking them …
- he tells everybody that he's the best equipped lock on the server … which isn't true and everybody knows this isn'nt true … and even if it was true …
- he is very fond of the knowledge he has
- you can tell him anything and he wont believe it
- if he asks you something what he doesnt know he will most likely believe it
- if you tell him something else later he will most likely not believe you and will be very fond of what you told him before
- this is the reason most people stopped trying to convince him and I'm so very desperate.

I could go on like that but … I think you got it … so what to do ? Actually get rid off him but how to do that without breaking up the whole raid ?
Yes most people are very well aware of what I just told you.
