[Mage] So I specced frost...

I specced frost to see what all the fuss was about...and I was dumb enough to post on WoW official forums...Im consider myself moderatly experienced as a mage player.

Short story is, I was fire for I think 1,5 yrs or so. Maybe more can't keep track on time. Now I decided to try the cookie cutter frost/arcane build for pvp...So I have alot of defenses, iceblock, ice armor etc. How the *@@* do I wreak havoc to people? I feel like I just ebayed a new class...

Im used to blastwave whenever melee gets close...DB to get space/interrupt casters...Scorch as a fast nuke.

Frostbolt is slow cast, hard to get away in pvp, icelance requires nova and then I need to be close and thats just nasty...Sure CoC, but it feels weak compared to DB.

Sure I can defend myself...But how do I go about with offense vs. melee/casters/healers.

Im 17/0/44.

In my experience you are not about offense. You tank, snare melee, and poly. When the main target is getting low you toss out damage on them to push them over the line.

For 1v1, a combo I like is getting your elemental out then start a frostbolt. About .5 seconds before the frostbolt goes off, use the elemental's freeze to snare, then spam ice lance to get both to shatter on your target. Other than that, it's more of a fight of attrition than kill them before they kill you fast like fire pvp. If you can get 2 pieces of Tier 4, that's awesome for PvP due to the set bonus. I'm not too experienced at PvP, but I've been enjoying frost lately for arenas and BGs.

I think you're mistaking these forums for your livejournal.
