Strategy for PUGs in 2.4
I've been thinking about PUG strategy for 2.4 when there are no longer any diminishing returns on HKs. On our battlegroup the alliance PUGs lose EoTS/AV/WSG 95% of the time to Horde pre-mades and PUGs, so I am suggesting this...
1. AV. Get 13 alliance to just defend stables with a couple of stealthers roaming the other nodes to keep the Horde honest. Result is a relatively quick game for a quick badge, and then some decent honor from HKs for defending in force when at the worst case 11 out-numbered Horde try to take the node. Meanwhile two stealthers working together can get honor from assaulting scantily defended nodes.
2. EotS. Same principle as AV. Get 13 alliance defending Mage Tower with a couple of stealthers roaming the other points to keep them honest.
3. WSG. Turtle in the flag room. Allow the horde to get the flag, but make them pay dearly in terms of HKs for getting it. Be prepared to turtle at the GY instead if the Horde start farming your GY.
4. AV. Alliance generally win 70% of these on our Battlegroup anyway, so continue as normal.
The strategies are about making the best of a bad deal. Quick games for tokens, better honor from HKs, a win-win situation with Horde getting good honor from winning, and alliance getting decent honor from HKs.
Discuss.

I don't get it. If you're in a situation where you can sit down and make strategies, then you can make some to actually win the battleground, you know?
I might be biased though, premades are fairly rare on my battlegroup, except on holiday weekends but I tend to avoid those.

Believe me I have tried to get PuGs to follow strategies, it just doesn't work more often than 1 in 10, and even then 2 or 3 will be on their own strategy. Even telling everyone not to fight on the road over and over does not work, I'm sure half of them dont even have a chat window up.
Occasionally people will follow a strategy, but there are just too many bad players joining PuGs and due to RL I cannot commit to the blocks of contiguous time that are required to find and stay with a pre-made. So I am left with PuG BGs and 2v2 with my wife.
There is of course a problem with even this strategy that I am proposing, and that is if the PuGs dont follow any other strategy why follow this one? Well at first they won't, but in AV and EotS when they get killed they will be rezzing close to where those that do follow the strategy are fighting so they may naturally fall into line over time.
Of course there will still be people that join that want to win, and that will be the real issue.

The best strategy i've come up with for pugs is..... don't pug. if you have over 200 resil, getting into an AB group should be no problem. If you have less than that, you can probs still get in, because locks are OP. if you can't get into an AB group, just start a 150+ resil group yourself- they come together quickly, and you know that the folks who join are at least interested in winning, and more likely to follow directions.

It's not unreasonable to expect that for pure honor, a "farming" strat may be better than rolling a pug in 4 minutes, especially if there is long queue times.

Premade situation depends on the server, on some it's pretty hard to get into a decent one. If the OP has an inclination to lead, starting one is a good idea though.
On topic, I don't think you can hold a tower in EOTS if they decide to come in force, and that's what people usually do if they take 3 easily.

This topic appears borderline identical to the "how to cheese AV" topics that have come up over and over - perhaps it's just me.
Why don't you just play the battlegrounds like they were designed? It's more fun and rewarding for everyone - the way you're describing to play the game is akin to spawn camping in FPS games while letting one guy run the flags in order to get the map to change. The win is ultimately cheapened and I can't imagine anyone having any amount of fun at all.
