Soon I will see for myself, but was hoping to get a head start on working out the strategies for my guild. So far the information that I have doesn't seem very complete, so maybe we can make it so here.

Just wanted to start off the discussion. I think a lot of people are going to be working out strategies this week for the first time.

Kalecgos dying left right and centre atm, so if there is still some kills lacking, I assume it won't be for long since the EU servers are live.

Hey here's a crazy thought, why don't you clear to Kalecgos and pull him a few times? Then you'll answer all this stuff yourself.

I'm sure there's been 50 by now, though perhaps not confirmed yet. It's a gray area currently.
WJ lists 15 kills in the USA so far. The sticky requests 50 kills, so waiting for that is the best option.

Still, some discussion and tactics about this boss would be very welcome. I've checked the same link you quoted from wowwiki and was rather confused about the mechanics of the fight.
Basically it looks like you fight two bosses at the same time with a rotation on the demon, the spectral realm is what's unclear though. Are you closed off from the raid, or still able to interact with the rest?

While I'm pretty sure that Kalecgos did not die anywhere at all (*), there have not been yet 50 confirmed guilds beating the encounter.

(*) Yes, it's a nitpick but you can't kill Kalecgos. You kill the demon and free him.

EDIT: Also what Malan said. Don't speculate randomly. If you weren't on the PTR, don't speculate away. Go to him, pull him a few times, then come back with more directed questions. Otherwise I have a strategy for Kil'Jaeden to sell to you for a measly 10'000 Gold.

I'd also hope that guilds that did kill him don't start putting videos online until at least the EU raiding guilds can have a shot at it tonight... ;(
