I've seen some random interest and speculation into 26/35/0, and while I've used it for a long time I needed decent weapons before I could really put it together, so since I got S3 swords I've been rocking it.

vs 17/44/0:
Pros: Deathwish, sword spec, imp thunderclap
Cons: +10% threat, -10% AP, no Rampage, only 1 point in precision, fast OH for whirlwind

This isn't an example of blowing everyone else out of the water, but just a simple showing that 17/44 isn't the end-all of specs. In addition to performing as well, you also don't need to watch GCD and timers for rampage.


The main difficulty with this spec is figuring out the theorycraft... all the dps spreadsheets don't account for this spec. Suddenly haste is better, +hit is more important, AP isn't the only focus, and crit... well it is what it is.

I play with other fury warriors who are 17/44, they've tried stacking +hit, APen, and AP, but in the end swords perform on par.

I know I can't be the only non-twin blade warrior using Sword spec, any reason this isn't mentioned as a build in places like the warrior compendium, etc?

I haven't seen your gear but seeing your 1000 dps I'm guessing it's TK SSC gear and not much more above. 17/44 is (for fury warriors) by far superior to any other template on higher gear levels. For example on a low Gear level (Blues) 26/35 is superior to 17/44. Bloodthirst is the warrior special that deals the most damage per rage beyond a certain amount of Ap in raid (3000 and any warrior should be above that even in 10 mans). Thus any template that isn't 41 (rampage) talented will do less dps.

I guess that spec won't be viable if you get better gear. Either your DPS will suck that much that you'll have no aggro problems or you'll simple pull aggro all the time. I do around 1,5-1,8k usually and am happy to have that -10%.
