Or more speculation, probably a soul of some sort like Taerar. That would also be possible. A shade of shadow somewhere that spits shadowflame 2.0. I would prefer something to not make Vanilla obsolete. All those hours in Blackwing Lair..come on Blizzard =( Tthe term 'Blackwing' doesn't really refer to Nefarion specifically - it could very possibly be another black dragon in there churning things up - it may be be Sinestra as the end boss even.

Fortunately, I still my have Onyxia cloak! So if Nef really makes a comeback, I am prepared! HAH!
I'd laugh but i'd cry afterwards. Some bosses should be left dead.

The shards are way too RNG, in an entire HC ICC (excluding LK ofc) run we got 2 shards. GG

Now that 3.3.3 is Live, I, like many other DK's are trying to figure out which new spec will yeild the highest DPS. I downloaded the new Sim, and ran my current 14/0/57 Reaping build against the new 0/17/54 Reapingless build, and I'm showing a ~100 DPS increase with the new Frost subspec. However, I just want to post my results, to make sure that I'm not making any gross errors.

Here's the Reapingless Frost build results

One note, on the Reaping build, I just modified the 12/0/59 Template, so all the talents and glyphs are correct. In addition, I did not run these with the ICC buff turned on, but I don't think that would make a difference in which spec is better.

Again, I'm just needing someone to glance over the results, to make sure there are no obvious errors. I don't need anyone to tell me which spec to play, because if my results are in error, I already know which one is best.

Thanks.

I saw the exact same results with my sims as well: the Frost sub-spec comes out on top by 50-100 dps.

Would anyone mind posting what could potentially be the cookie cutter builds of 3.3.3? I've been playing around with Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft and Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft ... 0/53/18 is pulling ahead of 12/52/7 in the sim .. but im curious if anyone is seeing different numbers in game

A comfortable hit rating.

It has been some time since I have dps'ed as frost in any form, my question is, what amount of hit should a dual-weild frost dps be aiming for? Just special ability cap? Or should spell hit cap be the focus.

is rupture worth using as mut. rogue

does the new buff to rupture change mutilate rotation at all? critical stikes can be a decent increase in sustained dmg. or is this just a hit or miss depending on the boss fight, compared to actually integrating rupture into our cycle for every encounter.

As for running combat with rupture, the Java app has a way of modeling rupture for combat cycles, and in the 2 minutes I just spent playing around with it, I was seeing a net increase of about 100 DPS (12504 vs. 12610), using Aldriana's current character as a guide (I'm logged out in mut gear), and that's with the rupture glyph.

I'll wait to pass judgement on rupture until the various spreadsheets/apps all converge on an answer, but as it stands, I wouldn't start worrying about a new rotation just yet.

On a different note, is anyone else not all that excited about the possibility of incorporating rupture into a combat "rotation"? I find myself almost *wanting* it to not be worthwhile, but maybe that's just me.
I saw basically the same with idps as well.

Noticed today that rupture drops more quickly than I remembered from before my evis only rotation. Now I'm wondering: Does the Rupture crit chance scale with the player crit chance? Further, will the potential dmg of rupture be enough to steal 5 points away from evis?
I'm thinking situation may play a part (boss is low on health and you get one last shot, use evis).

Any thoughts on the new changes, viability of rupture glyph, rupture cycle v. mixed evis cycle v. evis or evenoum only cycles? Thanks for your time and thoughts, I'll post again if my info is worth it (I'd hate to be so scrubby my data shows me way under-dps'ing my gear lol).
