Not sure if this was mentioned but the spec in the OP shows 3 points in Frigid Dreadplate which I assume is wrong lol.

Hello, I am changing from resto to elemental for various reasons, and I have a couple of questions.

Gems
I know I need to gem for SP+hit if I am under that 11% mark (we have a SP in our raid), but when to gem for
- pure SP
- sp haste
- pure haste?

X vs Y
Please note I only have access to 10N drops and the first 4 from 25N (leading a weekly pug).

[Blizzard Keeper's Mitts]+[Leggings of Dubious Charms] vs [Frost Witch's Kilt]+[Frost Witch's Gloves]?
So is the 4PC more dps than the non-set pieces?
(I will be using T10 chest & shoulders + [Ice-Reinforced Vrykul Helm])

Rotation/Glyphs
-When to use CL on single target fights?
-What are concidered the highest dps glyphs, if I am having ToW down at all times? (Except when I pop fire ele + lust)

Not exactly sure if this is the right place to ask these questions, but I hope it is. Thanks in advance!

I dont understant why the suggested spec includes intesity and backlash and doesnt include imp shadow bolt, some people have said that imp sb is more for afflic or demo but not destro but y? it gives more crit chance, its another nuke to hit the target with, and and the things from intensity and backlash dont seem that they would be used often in a pve spec. What am i missing?

Good Elemental Spell Rotation

I was wondering if someone would let me know of a good spell rotation. I have tried Flameshock~Lava Burst~Lightning bolt x3~Chain Lightning. is that a good rotation?

Just wondering if someone could tell me a really good rotation that could possibly boost my dps up.

Simple trinket question:

Hi, I'm pretty new in this forum and as a prot warrior I have a simple question regarding 2 trinkets.

These are:

1.
Ick's Rotting Thumb
Equip: Dodge rating 113
Use: 4104 health for 15 secs.
[Ick's Rotting Thumb]

2.
Glyph of Indomitability
Equip: 1792 armor
Use: increases dodge rating by 512 for 20 secs.
[Glyph of Indomitability]

The question is, from which one I benefit the most?
With the 1st I get about 1.6% dodge change which is good as I prioritize avoidance as a good road.
With the 2nd one I get about 1.39% of damage reduction which is also good as damage mitigation.
I really don't know which one should I use. As far as I know Rawr rating Glyph better than Ick's....

thanks in advance for any guidance you might give me.
Killertock.

I'm pretty certain they have been implemented since they were first put on the PTR.

TierTalentRecommendationNotes
1Improved Shadow BoltIgnoredShadow Bolt isn't featured at all in the rotation. This is mostly for Affliction- and deep Demonology-warlocks.
4IntensityRecommendedReduces pushback on all your spells, very useful for raiding.
5BacklashRecommendedGives higher crit % on all your spells and can give instant Incins when struck. The second effect is mostly for PvP but the higher crit % is useful.

[top]Rotations

"Rotation" is a very common term for damage dealers, but more and more classes now thinks of “priorities” instead since it's easier to keep track of what spells to use and at what time, since haste screws rotations up. This is something that has been used by Shadow Priests for a long time and has been further used by other classes.

Regardless of your build, the priorities stay the same:
  1. Curse of Doom – Highest DPCT of all your spells, read below however for extra information.
  2. Immolate – Gives an increase to your Incinerate and CB damage through Fire and Brimstone and enables Conflagrate.
  3. Conflagrate – To proc both Backdraft and Pyroclasm.
  4. CB – Stronger nuke than Incinerate.
  5. Incinerate – when DoTs are up and CB and Conflag is on CD, this is your "filler".
As a Destruction Warlock you will never ever (maybe expect Deathwhisper) cast Shadow Bolt. You could think about speccing it if your group does not have any mage's or other affli/demo locks, which is kind of unrealistic. But this is a pure DPS loss.

Well, Nipsu,

All the answers you want are in this thread but for the sake of helping a new arrival through 30 pages:

- Getting hit capped (or very close) is indeed of key importance. There are several options for us, but a combination of the gunship neck, mittens, T10 pieces and the icc-rep ring should get you there while using some gems
- for regular gem choices, the logic is to use either Runed or Reckless (depending on socket colour). Use Runed for blue slots except the 2 you ned to get your meta working
- recently it has been found that if you are very close to 1115 haste without relic and have 4 T10, you may want to gem Reckless in red slots to reach this, so you can make use of a small dps increase using EM in combi with FlS. It's tricky to use it though

- It has been found that 4xT10 outweighs 2xT10 + 2 nonset (at 264 or 277 lvl). The weakest T10 pieces are the gloves or the legs (which is why these are the only ones dropping from VoA). Since you cant get the proper offset legs, I advise mittens + T10 legs, and all other pieces also T10. The helmet you use is a big dps decrease; change it asap to T10

- CL usage is controversial; there is a small dps increase involved also on single target, but it eats mana. Some players use it to get their next LvB better aligned with the 8sec CD and fill the rest with LB. I would suggest you just try it out what works well for you
- In general I recommend to download ZAP or similar to see what glyphs and stats produce the best dps gains, so you can evaluate gear etc better. Currently however, Lightning Bolt and Totem of Wrath are top, closely followed by Flametongue and Lava. Whether you prefer Flametongue or Lava is a bit of a personal choice since the differences between them appear very small. Please check for your gearlevel if this is true

Good luck with your new role

Edit: I assume you can get access to 264 tokens at Saurfang. 251 lvl T10 is not up to par with 264 non-set items

Thanks for the quick response! I'll be getting t10 head asap then while using t9 chest + gloves (to get hit capped).

Quick Auctions 3

You should use this addon, and anyone else selling a lot of gems at once install it then:

/qa config

Create a new group from the the options, called for example, 'Gems'

Then find the configurations they are self explanatory, overide the ones you need like number in a stack and how much to sell below the lowest competitors price etc.

Go 'add items' it scans your bag, select all the gems to add to that group. (Can add more at a later time [and doesn't have to be only gems])

Go to AH > Auctions > Summary

This brings up a window, Click 'Gems' > Click 'Get Data'

Wait till that finishes, close that window

Go back to Autctions tab, click 'Post'

Automatically puts all the gems in your bag on the AH, in my case 30s lower than the lowest AH price.

I do this for low level gems selling singly prospected from thorium ore, approx 200ore made me about 1000+ g

But Ferocious Inspiration is changed incorrectly in the spreadshet, it buffs only Steady shot in the spreadsheet.

But Ghostcrawler clarified: "FI buffs Steady Shot in addition to Arcane Shot. " (Source: World of Warcraft - English (NA) Forums -> GC Clears Up 3.3.3 BM Patch Notes)
