BLOOD DK--"BEST IN SLOT" ?

I love this section. Its truly efficient and therefore very Helpful. I noticed a similar Post for the Unholy build which included a "Best In Slot" piece. While representative of "in yer dreams" gear to many of us it also gives a standard by which we can "at a glance" judge our gear for our Blood DK's. Can't get much Simpler than that =). Would you mind posting such a piece here ? It'll certainly help folks like me who are relative noobs to the DK (i'm currently lvling my DK and I'm in the mid-60's..heading to 80 asap. Omw there are surely great Leveling pieces you can recommend us to obtain, but the Ultimate Dream set is clearly a worthy goal, and sets the bar appropriately for those of us who take our gear seriously. THANKS AGAIN, for a great section !

P.S. Yes, I'm a DPS maniac and I love it when those with truly good skills and gear that are spec'd for DoTs and AoE's duel me and end up complaining..." I had you in the first few secs dude, you were a Standing Dead Man ya know! if only you'd given my stuff a chance to work eh!?.. c'mon, you know I'm better!" while fight after fight I burn 'em down before their stuff can do its work. So, yes, I love DPS.

I am planning on making a Death knight with a 51/0/20 spec for PvE DPS and a Blood/frost hybrid for PvP

My main questions are, when i read the other threads i see that Blood Elf is considered the preferred choice for PvP, but why is that?

Since expertise is such an important stat for blood, wouldnt an orc be a better choice so that you could hit that cap easier? Then there is the AP racial buff as well. Arent those both enough to edge out the 3 second silence that a Blood Elf gets?

Also, would a Hybrid with this 37/34/0 build be effective in arenas? or would a standard blood build be better? Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

got a question. im aware that frost is a priority system more then a rotation system. but how does one start on a fight?

Speaking of changing things, i recently went back to affi/demon from destro/demon and have been toying the with the idea of changing my profs from inscription/enchanting to engineering/enchanting for the haste enchant on gloves. Firstly i wanted to see how much of a dps boost i would potentially gain from this. But as i am a bit of a boob with simcraft i couldnt see to get it to take into account the hyperspeed accelerator enchant on gloves. Checked how simcraft showed someone else with engi already and copied what was different on theirs to my imported data and showed me as a 140 dps loss. When i figured the haste on 1 min cd wud be vastly better than 28 sp

Can anyone confirm for me what i would need to amend to a standard sim to get a correct representation so i dont re roll it for nothing (apart from the obvious shoulder enchant :P) ?

Two pages back it was said that DKs can top dps on Sindragosa. Can anyone help me know how. I seem to spend too much time running around dpsing tombs.

notes:
I use ARP food to reach a soft cap of 722 with the scorpion from FOS, and fury is my offspec, hence the odd assortment of gear. I'm currently far over hit cap - 13.24 without gemming or enchanting for it.

So basically i'm wondering what will give more DPS, Enrage, or the 3% hit.

AoE Ice tombs.

during p3 make sure you pestilence ice tombs and try to do as much dmg as possible to sindragosa, clear every other iceblock or so.(try to avoid the suck in) If you ever have 2 ice tombs up dnd the 2 and sindragosa when you go to clear.

Really just Aoe hard and keep your single target dps up during p3, if you play correctly your dps time will be up.

According to the spreadsheet I lose 772 DPS if I remove the 5 stacks of Sunder Armor target de-buff. I thought it wouldn't be very important considering that my Armor Penetration is around 1350 with full raid buffs/potions/food...can anyone explain this for me (and for the Warrior in my guild who thinks he no longer has to bother with putting Sunder on bosses because we both have very high ArP levels)?

Ok to make it simple: (being very generalized here and these aren't the real numbers, but just trying to convey the idea)

Lets say a boss 10,000 armor.

Now you can have 1400, or 14 million armor penetration on your gear, but it will cap at the "100%" mark.
This does not mean you penetrate and thus ignore 100% of your target's armor, you simply can now penetrate the "maximum allowed via the Armor Penetration stat".

We'll say that limit is 7,000. So at the ArP hardcap, you can penetrate all but 3,000 of that bosses armor.

What Sunder/Expose Armor/Acid Spit (Major) and Faerie Fire/Curse of Weakness/Sting (Minor) debuffs do is an entirely different subject. Those two debuffs combines (20% from Major and 5% from Minor) will reduces the bosses armor to a lower amount.

So with Sunder and FF, the boss will only have 7,500 armor instead of the 10,000 armor he would have had before.
Now you're hardcapped ArP character will be fighting against a target with 500 effective armor instead of 3,000... because of the limit placed on how much the Armor Penetration stat can ignore, even at 100% on the tooltip.

If you look at the tooltip ingame for Armor Penetration, it says "Armor Penetration rating by X (Enemy armor Reduced by -UP TO- Y%).

The "up to" is the part dependent on having those major and minor armor debuffs, as that number is assuming they are present.

Edit: Added in the armor debuffs that hunters can provide as well in case they're lacking from a standard raid composition.

Hello, I didn't play this game for a bit and got back into it by rolling a DK. I was playing as 2H Unholy, by DW always appeals to me so I've decided to switch.

I'm going with a 1/52/18 build, using GoD and am unsure of the rotation to use, or if I should utilize the priority from before 3.3.3

Anyone else in the same situation and what have you done?

I beg to differ, the first post shows the same priority that I saw from before 3.3.3. With all of the new changes, specs, and ideas of possible rotations flying around, asking a question to those who have created their own to adapt to this patch is quite valid.
