I might give it a try today for Saurfang and compare my numbers. Two specific boss encounter I can think of that glyph of bladestrom I think will be worth it is Marrowgar and Professor. On Marrowgar with the glyph you will get an extra bladestrom for a "bone graveyard" or "spike" phase because of the timing of when he casts the spikes.

On professor our strat involves everyone pilling on the spawn point of the green ooze so melee can switch immediately and there's more people stacked up to reduce damage. The tank with Prof and Prof are both there and the extra 15 seconds allows bladestorm be off CD for every green spawn, which wouldn't be true for unglyphed because it just comes off CD as it spawns. I haven't been to heroic version yet, so I'm unsure if that will matter long term. F

rom my thinking having sooner AOE/burst ability on the three first bosses and trash in the first wing would be worth it, then I might switch to glyph of HS for Saurfang, Rotface, and Festergut and switch back for Prof. My numbers have been pretty consistent the last few weeks (no changes in gear) on those single target bosses so it will be a reasonable comparison.

ok, thanks alot for the advice. I will be going Blood Elf.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by Blood not being a viable PvP tree as it is not as combat controlling?

The main reason i was going Blood/Frost hybrid is because I really like the general idea of Blood spec, and adding Frost skills to it seemed that it would balance it out more and make it more viable. But, i am pretty new to WoW and dont know enough about the games PvP mechanics to make an experienced choice.

What instances have you guys found to be the most profitable for the time involved? This includes selling greys and other items looted during the instances, but not Auctioning items as I'm too lazy to bother with that on low level greens, BOEs. I'm new to soloing to instances so pls keep that in mind as well, and thank you for your replies.

Hey Guys,

i'm unsure about my trinkets. I'm holy in most of our 25-man-fights but tend to do disci, due to teh fact we have no disci atm but sometimes a second holypriest. In our 10man i switch the spec depending on the encounter, but since the 2nd healer is a shamy we have no real raidhealproblem, which makes me think i should go mainly disci there too.

Currently i can choose between the following trinkets:
[Spark of Hope]
[Eye of the Broodmother]
[Sliver of Pure Ice] Non-heroic (can get the heroic with a bit more luck)
[Althor's Abacus] Non-heroic
could easily buy [Purified Lunar Dust]

Any advices which trinkets i should use for disci and which for holy? Currently i run along with [Sliver of Pure Ice] and [Althor's Abacus]. I dont have manaproblems at all, tahts why i think about changing Pure Ice with Lunar Dust and buff my SP a bit more (not sure if Lunar even gives more regen overall) or should i wait for Pure Ice Heroic?

Current Stats Disci (unbuffed)
3024 SP
29.3% Holycrit
607 Haste
29.2k Mana with 945 Manareg

Holy:
3341 SP
24,9% Holycrit
607 Haste
25,9K Mana with 878 Manareg

My sockets suck and i really should re-do them, sometimes i gemmed haste, sometimes int, sometimes spell and mixtures of these -.-

This is covered numerous places already. It's in the warrior FAQ and numerous places throughout this thread. Please take a minute to do your research before posting. If you ever have any question about gear, gems, stats, enchants, the correct answer is always to just go to Landsoul's spreadsheet. It's that simple. Trust the spreadsheet. If you don't know how to use it, learn. It really is the ultimate resource.

If you're not auctioning off cloth and Enchanting mats (from DEing those greens either yourself or by shipping them out to another enchanter) then you are leaving a lot of money on the table. If you're not so lazy as to want to solo old instances, you shouldn't be too lazy to resell your spoils.

ZG has been the best time to return instance for me for a long time due to all of the above plus Bijous.

I know this is a little off topic from what we are talking about and has been mentioned in the past and tossed aside. But I was messing with SS glyph the other day for a 25 man ICC hard mode and I found it quite usfull. In combination with reaping the amount of SS you can get off with out refreshing seems like a dps gain. Now I gave up glyph of IT for it and I know it sounds bad but I think it out weighs the IT gain a little bit, not to mention helps you relax a bit when you know you only have a few seconds left on your DoTs.

Seems like a DPS gain doesn't actually prove anything.

There are a couple of reasons why mainly Unholy comes out strongest in terms of Arena PvP. Some of these are:
  • Better surviveability against burst damage with Bone Shield, Anti-Magic Zone and Magic Suppression.
  • Enemies in Arena are typically wearing a high amount of armor/resilience, which reduces Blood's chances of doing high-pressure burst damage. Unholy has effectively higher disease damage and/or spell damage, thus making it more powerful in Arena combat.
  • Unholy Ghoul pet is godsend in the Arena, the stun and leap abilities it provides are absolutely brilliant. Besides, it's great for keeping opposing healers in combat to prevent them from drinking up mana.
  • More effective utilizing of the runes, especially in terms of CC. Scourge Strike, which is the key source to Unholy damage, uses Unholy and Frost runes, which leaves Blood runes available for Strangulate and Pestilence.
  • With the new changes to Unholy Blight, this talent is absolutely amazing, and is another great reason to pick up Unholy for Arena PvP.

These reasons are of course all personal preferences.

Blood simply doesn't bring these extraordinary features.

-264 tier not 277 - a 10 man raider will never get 277
-Cloak isn't well itemized for resto druids, not sure on 10 man, but at the very least ToGC 10 258 cloak is better.
-Putricide's bloodied smock off the ah would be better, if you can't get that, circle of ossus from badges.
-I've always found MH/OH comp to be better than staves, but I'm not sure if 10 man raiders have access to a decent offhand.

Subtlety

I've been playing around with Subtlety since the patch and I find it to be, at the very least, comparable if not better than the cookie cutter Muti/Prep spec. My current spec is 11/5/55. I have not yet gemmed for Arp. but I find that my dmg is still very good. My wife and I used to play around in 2v2 as a rogue/druid comp. We quit primarily because we aren't very good. After this patch, however, I talked her into trying it out again. We did very well, and we both noticed a huge difference in my survivability and damage output. I'm looking forward to further refining this spec because I think it outperforms Muti/Prep by a significant margin in utility and is on par as far as damage is concerned.
