So, I've been wondering what could be the actual optimal gear as an affliction lock, since the compendium shows only one without LK drops. What would be best to fill the hit gap from the los of Rigormortis?

Not even a small one. You'd be better off with one of the weapons in the ICC 5-mans.

I am and have been a kitty for as long as I can remember now, and want to respecialize my secondary specialization to beartank. Thing is, I have never had anything to do with bear tanking before. Both of the two initial posts in this thread which includes bear tanking refers to the Feral Tank Discussion thread, but if I was to read carefully through all of the thirty-seven pages it would take so long time I might as well drop doing that.

So, is there any other in-depth, up-to-date Feral Tanking guide of some sort anyone know of? Something like the initial post in the Feral DPS Discussion thread would be exceptional.

Leveling spec

OK I have been searching for a bit and still cant find an answer to this question. What is the best spec for leveling a DK? If anyone has an answer to this I would appreciate the input.

Would it be a dps decrease if I were to use glyph of icy touch over disease? On the front page it says it is good to let your diseases run out, yet for the glyphs it says to use GoD. I am sorry if I missed this a few pages ago, but I really haven't had time to go back and look through the last few pages.

How... but I am so happy

Went raiding last night with my guild as my normal SV hunter self....normally I get 6k to 6.5k sustained DPS... even with the 5% buff increase... I was pulling 10k to 12k dps on trash and sustained 8k to 8.5k dps on bosses... no new gear... no changes to talents... no change in glyphs or enchants.... no change in play method... The 5% buff increase in ICC cannot account for this huge increase... no parse record unfortunately and without an update of the spreadsheet in over a month, despite a patch.... can't figure it out... so I'm gonna enjoy this buff and pray for an update soon....

When using GoD, it is not a DPS increase to allow your diseases to fall off (at least in my experience). You always want to refresh your diseases, as it saves you a rune and allows you to do 3 Obliterates for a net increase of damage.

Specs these days?

Good evening/morning,

I'm thinking of starting up my lock again, but the last time I played with it was way back in Naxx in Wrath. I was destro then. However, I wish to know what is the best spec these days as many things have changed xD

If possible a quick summary of what each can give to a raid and a link to a rough outline of a spec to use.

ArP > Str? if so when?

My DK is currently Frost. He has 771 ArP now and that's including the ArP from DBW. I have only 3 ArP gems in my gear, and i want to know if i should continue to keep gemming for ArP at this point?

This is from a previous post I made on the rotation vs priority issue. I've been using this and it wastes few to no KM procs and rime procs. The numbers I've been pushing have simply amazed me. I have no heroic gear whatsoever (10 man or 25 man) and haven't completely finished a frost set yet (hoping to get lanathel's chain tonight and am going to enchant gloves and boots for AP to drop hit). Anyway, 12,400 dps (~11,300 without the ICC damage buff) on Saurfang using Ilvl 251 axes from 10 man gunship has me pretty sold. Rng on the fight (IE crit/miss rate) seemed fairly normal.

You would start with something like IT, PS, OB, FS, BS, Pest, FS, OB, OB, FS, FS, OB. After the opening set of runes/FS's it would become OB, OB, RP dump, BS, Pest, RP dump, OB, OB, RP dump, OB, RP dump.

By splitting up the runes you end up with 4 RP dump portions of the rotation and get some wiggle room for KM and rime procs. You also have some freedom to shift your U/F runes around without causing them to line up with your death runes. That removes of the problem of UF runes being off CD at the same time as 2 death runes and an obliterate consuming UF and pushing back the blood runes that would be used for pest.
I also forgot to mention, the rune grace period gives this rotation even more room for KM proc's/rime/horn. UA is used with BT -> UA -> cancel aura right after death runes are consumed by an OB. I would definitely suggest at least giving this a try on a target dummy.

I also wanted to discuss specs a bit. In the OP's spec, there are three points in BI, one of which can be moved into CotG. According to previous dps/talent point calcs that I saw, CotG should be higher DPS than BI. With the exception using AMS, I am having no trouble RP capping with 1 point CotG and with 2 resto druids in the raid. I wasn't even capping that I saw with 3 resto druids.

Also with the "wiggle room" rotation I'm running, I haven't really had any trouble dumping all my KM procs. This would lead me to say 5/5 KM isn't really questionable unless I'm missing something with an internal CD or PPM on KM. The only points I would move around would be BCB -> subversion if you are having threat issues. The template I would be using is Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft. The two free points would generally be put into BCB unless you have threat issues.

Is it more important to worry FIRST about getting to 315hit (Poison cap) than any other stat for combat spec?

So let's say you just got the Herkuml War Token to replace Mark of Supremacy. Now you're down 128 hit points. Is it worth to re-gem to make sure you're at 315?

Actually i would rather dispute about frost dk being better for asingle target dps than enh shammy, if we compare both of them in BIS as i remeber enh dps should be slightly better (no more than 100-200 dps though), but anyway frost dk== total aoe ownage over enh so the choice is rather straightforward...

I'm having a difficult time keeping my DPS up to par with my gear.

Even with the 10% dps buff in ICC25 right now, I can't seem to pull more than 7.5k dps. (5k on the heroic training dummy) The fury warrior in our group does a consistent 9k to 11k. But looking at my gear now, I really ought to be doing a lot more. I'm not sure if it's a problem with my gear and slight lack of ArP, or if I'm just not using a proper rotation.

I'm not sure why the fury warrior in my raid is doing vastly more damage than me. But here's my rotation:

Charge ... Rend > MS > (slam) > Overpower > Execute on SD (x2 with T10 set bonus) > MS > (slam) > Overpower > (Bladestorm if everything else is on CD) ....... and then it all kinda falls apart.

At times I find myself either rage starved, or spamming slam repeatedly, because all major abilities are on CD.

Is my dps... or LACK of appropriate dps... a gear/spec issue, or a skill/rotation issue? I'd ask the other warriors in my guild, but I'm the only arms warrior, and I wouldn't put it past my guild to replace me if I can't keep up.
