Can you give me some tips for configure power auras for >70 rage?
Halfway down the page, you will read "Activation by" followed by a drop down menu.
The default is "Buff." Change this to be "Rage/Energy/Runic."
Move the sliding bar to 70%. Click the box next to the bar to invert the aura, so it shows up when you are above 70%.
I recently had the opportunity to tank ICC 25 in the GDKP I attend, and I also tank for ICC 10 heroics. In using Rawr to sanity-check my gear, I've discovered that the incoming damage and survivability target numbers don't have ICC options. They end at ToC 25 Heroic. I'm curious how people have updated those numbers to account for the damage in ICC 10/25 and heroic mode. For the moment, I'm just bumping the damage number up by about the same amount that ToC was above Ulduar. I've been upping the survival number so that it's always above what I have, since the prevailing wisdom is maximum stamina. Does that make sense? Anyone else have numbers they'd like to share?
On the Rawr discussion threads Astrylian says:
"Err, there aren't any presets for ICC25. I use Custom>300,000 for Survival Soft Cap, and Custom>100,000 for Target Damage."
In a later post he states
"It's very subjective. For me and my guild (quite good healers), I'd use 300k for Normal, 350k for Heroic. Guessing on the Heroic one, since we're not quite to Heroics yet; hopefully this week."
This has been discussed multiple times over that some balance of exp is required. If you were able to run the simulator for yourself you would be able to answer this question. On one hand, if you have 0 expertise then you will miss all the time but on the other anything over 26 is worthless.
Depending on which spec you run, frost sub or blood sub, can also help with expertise awareness. Since blood sub has ~1.5 seconds at the end of the rotation, you will likely want to be at or near 26 being that a miss every once in a while is acceptable since you have that 1.5 second span but not ideal for the rotation.
On another note, frost sub spec has a much faster rotation and as such more open gcd's so having a lower level of exp than 26 would still be ok but not optimal to fill gcd's w/ missed attacks.
Im sure there is more math that could be done here but this is a mere simplistic answer for you.
Thx for you answer. I use Kahorie's DK simulator and cant uderstand what "Personal Expertise value" means. There is also a string called "EP ExpertiseRating". What should i use in my calculations?
I apologize if this has already been brought up, but I checked the main post on the first page and many other pages but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
Concerning Engineering vs. Blacksmithing, which is better? I was under the assumption at top tier levels engineering beats out blacksmithing, especially if you can utilize the saronite bombs without affecting your fcfs priority. Was this changed b/c the fragments stack so incredibly fast that haste isn't even much of a priority? Thanks.
I'm trying to decide when i should make the switch from stacking AP ---> ArPen a lot of the rogues i've talked to say wait untill about 500 ArP without gems. currently im sitting at 370 passive ArP checked spread sheets and the dps gain is only 20-30. How much passive Arp should i get before gemming for it??
Ok my question here is its been a year since this thread was updated I have been reading alot of posts on PVE builds and the spec guides and with 3.3.3 and prior releases since last update of this thread have there been any changes to make one spec more desireable than another for raiding ICC and other raid content?
I completely missed the resist drilldown which screwed with my interp of the data, I guess for me i am going to assume a 50% multiplier per jdugment based on mana pool and weigh things with a spare gcd on that. Thanks again.
Thanks for all your hard work Mavanas. Your theorycraft and contribution to rogue DPS has been invaluable. Good luck with your future endeavors and hopefully you will find time to rejoin the rogue community in Cataclysm!
Just a question for u shamans. In a RANDOM 5-player dungeon on a boss fight where there is a lot of AoE dmg with mage/hunter range and one melee dps, is it the shamans fault if someone dies because he is only using chain heal, or is it the dps's fault for not being grouped?
So I am having a strange problem. I am having trouble doing more dps with the 0/53/18 spec than I am with the 15/56/0 blood subspec. Is it because my weapoons don't hit hard enough yet? I am using the 10 man icc axe and the 232 mace from HHoR. I am doing ruffly 200-300 dps less on single target and almost 1000 less dps on multiple targets.
it,ps,bs,ob, dump, ob ob ob is pretty much the rotation i'm using.
I have a stinging question here... So I am not saying I don't believe that stacking haste is good per se, never-the-less if we are supposed to use slower weapons 2.5+ then how does that work in terms of weapon speed? I realize that slower weapons have higher dps stats on them, but it's also to prevent WF down time. So how then does that all work out? And please for heaven sake if you're going to say things like AEP tell me what you mean.... it's been 1 1/2 years since I've played and the game has changed a bit since I last kicked Illidans butt.
And I'm not as young as I used to be either
