Said that, and knowing that this topic is about end-game tanking, would like to ask for a viable unholy build for 10m, heading for Heroic ICC, since our party is a magic-heavy one (mage-SP-ele shami+ ret pally). Have been running a Blood spec till now and found myself having an "easy" time holding aggro on any encounter despite our fury warrior doing ~10k dps on every fight which makes me think that I still could perform OK while switching for an effective raid buff (we already have a MM huntard and 2 shams what leads to drop non-improved WF totem).
The question is, is the "standard" build shown on the OP the way to go or the latest changes to the frost tree suggest a frost sub-spec, like unholy DPS?

I've successfully tanked every fight in Heroic ICC10 (sans LK) as Unholy and many in ICC25 heroic as well. It is not only viable, but it is extremely effective. The spec on the first page works, but I personally made some changes because I wanted Improved Unholy Presence. What I did was drop AMZ; it isn't that great (since it is based on AP). Remove the lonely point in Wandering Plague -- again, nice, but not crucial.
Threat is never an issue thanks to the IT buff, but it wasn't before really either (just less flexibility).
I suspect that subspecing frost isn't really worth it. Bladed Armor is incredibly good for tanks. But even so, threat isn't really a problem most of the time.
My anecdotal experience was I took measurably less damage than did a Blood DK who often co-tanked with me. Average damage was lower (thanks to BS). Bursts like Sindragosa were extremely trivial thanks to 100% absorption with AMS. Bone Shield uptime can vary significantly, but to be honest, the times when it is shortest -- a string of unavoided hits -- is precisely when you want damage reduction. Overall, my survivability and threat was comparable with an ICC25 MT Blood tank at a slightly lower gear level (as I am primarily DPS).
Your mileage may vary, of course. Watch out for worms on Dreamwalker as they hurt, especially with burning zombies, and bone shield is not especially helpful in this situation because of the fast attacks.
