anyway, i've been doing all the lock theorying for my guild as of late and im horrible at it haha

if anyones up to it id greatly appreciate some constructive criticism on what ive been doing. i've been tryin to do all the theory myself but as i stated above im not to great at it.

ok so..
heres my current build affl build

and the reason for all the supres/cat is because of the trinket i picked up a lil while back (armory link)

oh and lets not forget the obligatory WWS report
( i messed up infernal and DS timing on that one pretty good lol, but its as current as i got atm)

now before you burn me down completely let me explain my logic on all this..

i've spent ungodly amounts of time on dummies doing more benchmarks than i care to count, and for my playstyle i came up with results that molten core wasnt really helping me to much, on the other hand i found that when i picked up the egg trinket, though its uptime is not amazing in raids, it was actually a dps increase of ~100 over war prisoner trinket and gemming accordingly and droping the hit talents

as a rot im using Haunt > US > Corr > CoA > SL > immo > bolts and upkeep ( naturally swapping bolts for DS at the appropriate boss HP)

ive seen alot of info saying that its better to put a bolt up first to get an embrace going before i start my opening rot, but i found that to be a very minor increase vs. haunt having such a fast cast time and it putting up embrace as well...in essence slower dps in the first few seconds vs getting all my dots up quickly and efficiently, giving me a hair of breathing room for any movement or repositioning before i have to start renewing.

also, ive seen quite a bit of ppl leaing towards imps over fel hunters. this is somethign that has confused me a little. now, i honestly cant for the life of me figure out why but one day after picking upa couple minor upgrades i went to test on some dummies and found my shadow bite suddenly hitting for ALOT more than it previously had, much more than any gear should have upped it, probably from some hotfix or something i missed who knows.

as to gear, yea theres alot im mising ideally, heigan ring, heigan chest...a worthwhile weapon such as turning tide (/drool), some flippin new bracers (dont ask lol) etc etc, im largely in tier gear but alot of the other slots r lacking, such is RNG/dkp i suppose...



TLDR: i wold greatly appreciate some constructive criticism on my play style, spec and gear...in the wws, though i meesed up a bit, my dps feels to me as though it should be higher, having trouble figuring out why

I am currently FG/ember ,rotation is DEm emp-->Imm>CoA>Corr>Inci

I seem too be lacking some dps...can only pull off 1.5K in heroics and in raids well...i have trouble keeping it up that much.I need some good pointers rotation wise and gem wise.

-Should i be gemming haste or crit?
-When should i use Dem emp?
-is my rotation way off?

Also i was Chaos bolt spec but i was only pulling off 1.5K dps in raids..and 1K in heroics..unfortunately dont have the stats for that but how much crit should i have for that spec,and any uggestions on the rotations maybe thats my only probleme..

I just want too boost my dps and be able too use chaos bolt (because yes i don't think its enough)..

Anyways is going down to meta required for a build like this to work? I was doing ~2700 dps on dummies just using CoA->corruption->immo->SB spams I forgot to see what I was doing with 0/41/30 getting 4500-4700 DPS on 25 man patchwerk

Also is immolate worth using with this ?

Well right now im at about 200HR and I sustain a stead 3.5k DPS in raids. I also never have a problem with rage generation. Maybe its because I have alot of AP, im not quite sure. But I dont find it so nessicary to go above the yellow cap.. I am also a Tauren. Bo ya..

id say we're on a similar gear level, although i have a chunk more crit, all my gear is from heroic/badge with a couple of 10man drops (neck, shoulder)

while people are quick to jump on the "gear" bandwagon, i'll go against the grain and say that its skillbased. i dont mean to offend your wife, but check that you're refreshing your living bomb, using your instant pyros and stacking cooldowns when you should, with correct glyphs (reference: elemental shaman rotations thread)

in my first 25 man naxx pug this week (hi im new and its christmas pugs) i put out over 4.3k on patch, which wasn't particularly lucky (before people jump in) as id done a tad over 4k on bosses previously in 10man- unless im lucky all the time which is doubtful since i cant roll above 35 for loot :p

just make sure you're doing everything you should, and check it twice.

Sorry for being horrible I guess.

I could be wrong, but I think with the buffs to Immolate and Corruption in the 3.0 patch, then adding immolate to your rotation always comes out to be a DPS boost...(even if miniscule..)

Would this spec be any good? Points from FA will be moved into mortal shots as the hit becomes higher.
