It is not possible to say "this item has crit and I already have 'enough' crit so its not an upgrade". There is no such thing as enough crit, haste or spellpower as more of either will be beneficial at all times. If the total dps generated by the stats is higher then your current item, it is an upgrade regardless if it is coming from haste or crit or whatever.
E.g. Frozen Bonespike 277 is still our second best weapon in-game despite it doesn't have haste and carries spirit which is totally useless to us

If you are interested to know if e.g. a weapon is an upgrade, the thing to do is extract what DEP value each stat gives and simply add and compare (use ZAP e.g.). There are other considerations perhaps but they are quite secondary

For my current gearlevel Lockjaw would be a ~5dps upgrade above Suffering's end, so the upgrade value is very low (I didnt check your gear but I would be surprised if it is very different). It has mp5 also however, so if you run heroic dungeons it might be a little more useful. In raids the mana gain it is not really noticable but doesn't hurt either.
Maybe you like big numbers on the screen and then spellpower heavy gearchoices are always nice

So ye, if you have it and didn't get LK or heroic Bonespike yet, you may favour it above Suffering's. I wouldn't call it a solid upgrade however

I am twinking my hunter for the 49 bracket and I want to know what spec is the best for WSG & AB. I am currently using Beast Master spec and I can hold a kill death ratio of three to one. If anyone can answer this question, I'd be appreciated.

I guess my first question was in the wrong wording for whatever reason so lets try this again.

Since there is so little gear with expertise on it for enhance I think the two peices we can viably use for enhance that have expertise on it we should use so we dont have to use half our slots gemming for expertise, what do you guys think?

Expertise is expertise whether it comes from a gem or an ilevel expenditure on a piece of gear. Is the expertise on a gem dirty or otherwise less valuable then the expertise on a piece of gear?

Read the OP and if you think you can get more dps by using those pieces of gear that have expertise on them instead of just gemming for expertise, follow the guidelines set out in those initial posts and prove it, then post about it. That is the point of this thread after all. It will also keep you from making another useless post.

If by useless post you mean me asking a very simple question and getting a condescending answer to said very simple question then by all means call it that. I know for my gear set it in fact does not work for me but i wanted to know others opinion on the matter. I don't think that is a "useless" question to ask.

Yeah WSG weekend was pretty nuts.

First win of the day was about 60% of a level. Each successive win was ~40% a level.
Even a quick loss was worth about 20%.

This was based on toons in the 19-30 range and 49-55 range. Not sure how much the curve changes for the 60s and 70s.

Looking forward to AB next week.

The question has been addressed multiple times in this, and other threads. The reasoning behind it has little to do with the expertise and more to do with the other stats on the items in question, (usually crit). Most shamans are dealing with the crit cap at higher gear levels and as a result the value for crit goes way down (as compared to haste or hit).

For example if we compare [Seal of Many Mouths] to [Band of the Bone Colossus] (which is the most common piece used for the expertise-on-gear argument), the Band comes out on top because it doesn't have crit, and has haste on it. You're better off using a haste piece and gemming for expertise, bypassing the crit from the Seal.

I was wondering - when does ArPen start to outperform AP as a combat rogue. I can get to around 1050-1100 gemming for it instead of AP (14 fractured cardinal + 3 fractured dragon's eye, breaking 4pc set bonus) and since I'm using mostly Evis finishers on fights like LK and Sindragosa I was wondering if I should regem for ArPen.

Also should I still use Needle Encrusted Scorpion instead of Mark of Supremacy even though it would put me over cap when it procs, and also should I keep up EA if there's no sunder available or just burn hard with Evis?

ok, I have pretty good gear. I have heard affliction is my best bet with dps. I do more damage with destruction currently and I do not believe it is where it should be either.I am going to link my armory and a wow logs report. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For a properly configured Rawr (buffs/debuffs, fight duration, etc), Rawr is spot on for mages in my experience.

Hi there,
I am very newish in this spreadsheet and I hope you can help me.

If I press regem for optimizing the Sockets, the sheet everytime put in the Jewelcrafter Gems (+34ArP).
But I dont have this profession. Is there any chance to take this off?

I Know Jewelcrfting is the best profession, but atm there is not enough stuff in the auctionhouse to skill it.
