This isn't exactly in line with the current topics in this thread but, since I cannot start a thread of my own, I'll ask it here.
1. Do you think Attumen is soloable as a hunter? With an overboard BM spec of course, picking up the dodge, the extra pet talent points, the extra health, etc.
2. How hard does/did Attumen hit(non-crit)?
3. Do you think a 2set T5 and keeping MP up all the time would be enough to down him, even through the curses?
If you spec 51/13/7, and you do it right then you have a talent called Annilation in the frost tree(would link the ability but can't at work ). It makes your obliterates not consume diseases when used. This talent is the main reason why many Blood Knights spend points in frost.
so ive finally dropped combat swords for Mutilate and i went on my first test run/Tune up through H nexus and H UK, and i must say, im a little surprised at my DPS so i was hoping to get some advice here. ive run combat swords since MC long ago, and ive always put up very good/high DPS, i took about 6 months off and i really wanted to try something different.
As combat swords, the only difference between my current armory listing and this one was the main hand, i was using either reaper of dark souls or crypt lord's deft blade depending on my mood as i got simlar dps with both. my offhand was either grasscutter, avool's, or one of the 2 daggers currently equipped.
typically in those 2 instances i would put up 2.2k(nexus) and 2.7k(UK), with mutilate i put up 1.8k and 2.1k average, with boss fights peaking at around 200-300 the average dps. now im sure some of this is my getting used to the whole cycle and timing, however im wondering if i have overlooked an imbalance now in my gear and enchants. now, i havent re-gemmed yet, nor have i re-enchanted. i was thinking on dumping some AP to get back to my exp and hit caps, as they are substantially lower than before. i think with what i have read, my hit should be OK in its current rating, perhaps exp is what i need to focus on more... i know my gear isnt total junk but at the same time theres room for improvement, so please dont think im coming here saying "hey, why am i not out dpsing the world!!". looking at the spreadsheet i should be expecting substantially more dps that what i am currently seeing, with combat swords i was almost up to par with what the spreadsheet estimated depending on raid buffs.

Keep UB ticking, use DC when it's UB is on. Otherwise, keep UB up. (This is on the front page, too.) UB does more damage, even with the higher RP cost, hence it's a good idea to keep it up whenever possible. The difference is gone in the next patch though - with UB costing 40 RP. The Gargoyle is best used at 100 RP because as it starts draining RP you'll want to have loads of it left so that it doesn't end too early.

I was a blood dk for quite some time, but decided to give unholy another shot. I can't seem to "let go" of my rune tap ability - and even though highly situational - it has proven itself useful for that one point. I placed 1 point in corpse explosion for overall aoe dmg increase as i feel that the upcoming patch change would make it a decent ability. And one point in night of the dead for 40% dmg decrease for my pet. 70% would had been nice, but i can't seem to move points around that well in a already bloated tree. I was also curious if the changes in outbreak and 45% increase dmg to plague strike make it a vital talent to invest points in? Or will SS still remain the go to move for dmg?
Just want to summarize what has been posted and what I have found for 44/27 and 32/39 builds
Generally these 2 specs will out do unholy builds most of the time even with DW users having less gear.
fast/fast is usually better as it can simply proc more KM.
I don't see how using slow/fast to boost PS/BS and FS is worth the extra KM procs fast/fast provides, after the first rotation its just IT spam and a single PS renew DC dumps etc and read below for FS.
Only use FS when you have a KM proc AND HB/IT are on cooldown as this allows for another KM proc before the next HB is up OR when there is simply no KM. Otherwise IT for KM procs (only when HB has just been on cooldown) and DC for RP dump.
During a trash aoe pull your HB should be at 100% crit rate, KM should always be up before your next HB. Even for single target fights it should be close to 100%
It is good to prioritize HB on the first rotation and use BB and RP dumps to wait a bit for a KM proc and when it has around 2-3sec left on cooldown and KM is up, don't waste it on a IT or FS.
So basically if KM is up you should ONLY use it on HB UNLESS HB has just been on cooldown AND IT is ALSO on cooldown and in this case use FS.
You WILL be taking aggro if your tank is bad and/or undergeared after a PS>IT>PEST>KM'd HB. So use BB once or twice before HB to let tank get some aggro.
During heroic boss fights where you know the ghoul and garg will stay alive it is not hard to pull 3-3.2k dps with rep swords and some heroics gear.
Wyrmrest rep swords are great for starters and will allow for everything I noted above, you won't need to upgrade till naxx.
You should be using FC and Cinder/Razor for the other weapon, whatever suits you I personally use cinder for the extra HB and IT boost and Cinder seems to proc a lot.

I have read on the forums that the hit cap is 8%, so i should lower that.
About the expertise cap i have read different things. Some say 5.25% other 5.5% and others say 6%. So i was wondering what i should aim for.
Another thing i was wondering about, atm i have 3 points in desecration, should i remove those points and fill out dirge and my 1 remaining point in virulence?
in january when raid will restart i want to try Zerker MH and 65 ap on OH, having 60% uptime from MH is really good, but i think 65 ap 100% uptime is better than zerker 30-40% uptime. if someone can try both on end game gear(for now) will be helpful for me tnx
