Little off topic , i want to ask about engineering and how viable it is for frost dps wise , i dropped mining for blacksmithing and now i'm thinking of dropping blacksmithing for engineering , would anyone recommend me to do it?

Primary talent is my main talent and the secondary is for LK fight. I will talk about my rotation.

-----1 target (Saurfang, Rotface, etc...)------

First attack:

DW Unholy question.

I'm not at home at the moment so I cannot sim it myself, but if you run multiple unholy DK's in raid and can afford to give up EP to free up some points, do you think putting them into ImpUP would be an increase over your BP type spec?

I was thinking something along the lines of a spec as this. 2/5 BI, 2/2 Dirge, 3/3 Morbid and 2/2 ImpUP.

Yes, the chance to miss and the chance to be dodged can be eliminated completely by hit and expertise respectively. However, although the hit cap is worth going out of your way to reach, the expertise cap is not. It simply doesn’t affect enough of our damage to be worthwhile, and due to the fact that our rotation now contains extra GCDs, losing one occasionally because we have to repeat an ability thanks to a dodge isn’t that big of a deal.

Regarding expertise, the soft cap for it is 6.5% and you have placed it below Crit in stat weight chart.

Im intending to get a few gears that replaces my expertise with haste n ive only a no. of dkp pts to spend so i gotta spend it wisely hehe, so how much expertise can i sacrifice (currently im at 22 exp, 5.5%) for gears that has haste to replace experitse? What would be a comfortable number for expertise for me not to screw up my rotations?

Simple Question: Does it matter if my Ret, and especially my new Holy spec, uses mail armor instead of plate?

I am more interested in the stats right now because my character is not so hot. And wow, do I need mana in both builds. My gear is not great but I have some frost and other emblems saved up so I am looking at purchasing some things...but feel paralyzed without getting some feedback on this. I have been playing the Ret pally but picked up the holy spec, which I intend to play more.

my rogue (Royalassin) on illidan server, i kept gearing him up but all the ICC 25 gear is losing hit on it.i just got the 10 man chest peice from the 2nd boss and if i equit it i lose 82 hit.. i already have the hit trinket so if i loose this much hit with this chest piece or when i get the T10.5 piece cuz i have a token to get it i will loose 82 more hit.. what should i do? i dont want to have to gem for hit but if i have have to i have to..

hello, i have some questions about lich king 25 hc.

1. Can someone make a name of the link the frost balls on transition phases, just want to see in grid who was linked by this.
2. Did someone try as holy pally using right. fury on 2-d phace for getting agro from val'kyr? what damage it is, or better to heal 2-d tank. Can someone link val'kyr's ability on ph2 ?
3. And the 3-d question - can i count my AM + Sacr (with bubble) on main tank, for soul reaper as safe c\d to avoid damage from soul reaper? ( i mean the situation when 2-d tank is in val'kyr )

cheers guys, i just respeced me dk to frost dps and got a question. i curently have Frost Giant's Cleaver on MH and Quel'Dalar, Cunning of the Shadows in my OH. according to rarw BIS weapons are the one handed axe from ony 10/25 (Raging Deathbringer) . I wonder are those weapons procs so powerfull ?

Point for point. how much ArP do you need before you start doing more damage than a pure agility build. Dont tell me about the ArP cap and stuff. just tell when X amount of ArP starts doing more damage than pure agi.

Are the Boots of Kingly Upheaval a worthwhile purchase? I know I'll get more Stamina out of them than my current boots, but the lack of Defense rating makes me cautious, as I've heard that even once you're soft-capped Defense is still one of our best stats to go after. Furthermore, they're more than a little pricey, are there any realistic alternatives before Heroic?

I suppose a better way to ask the question would be how do I get stat weights for my current build, so I can just pop numbers into a spreadsheet and see which equipment I should be going after?

I can understand your frustration Krayken, like u Im the Raid unholy DK so like you Im "stuck" at unholy which I dont mind that much; What really gets to you is some raiders actually giving you a hard time cause of your "lack" of dps.

Atm Im at 6,200GS and its kinda hard to actually compete with DW Frost that have not gone over 6K GS yet. So, yeah Im always looking at new ways to improve my spec. DW unholy would have been fun.

Defense is okay. It's not great, but it's still valuable. Stat weights are really pretty difficult, but you can calculate values for the diminishing retrns on def dodge and parry to compare them directly. Doing so isn't really necessary, however, as they tend to very easily fall into dodge > def > parry. Usually something along the lines of defense rating being worth between .8 and .9 dodge rating, and parry being around .7 dodge rating. It's a large enough variance that it's pretty easy to eyeball. Comparing avoidance to stamina or armor is a different matter entirely, and largely comes down to personal preference, and people will often go to great lengths to convince others that avoidance is worthless, or that avoidance is totally awesome, but it's difficult to say anything definitive.

As to other options for boots, the ones off Valithria are pretty nice, and help to fill a rather large expertise hole in most ICC gearsets. With your current gear, however, you could really use the hit on the Boots of Kingly Upheaval. They'd certainly be an upgrade from your current boots.
