A quick question about EM

Does it give you 15% spell haste or does it increase your haste rating by 15%

I just got Bloodvenom Blade drop from ICC25.

I usually run a Mutilate build for PvE (I have Gouge of the Frigid Heart MH and Bleeding Weep OH) but Bloodvenom is superior to the daggers I use so I'm thinking of switching to combat now. Problem is, I'm fully AP and Haste gemmed and when I did a 3 minute fight on the heroic dummy I only got like 100-200 more DPS than my Mutilate build. Is this because of the gemming? Should I regem full ArPen?

I'm MH Bloodvenom Blade and OH Liar's Tongue with MH IP and OH DP. Refreshing SnD's as soon as I can with 5pt Eviscerates. I can't use the spreadsheets because my gear isn't up to standards yet that's why I need help from you guys.

Mut rogue here. I am using Hood of Lethal Intent atm but i picked up the ilvl 232 helm from heroic FoS Frayed Scoundrel's Cap - Item - World of Warcraft As a mut rogue it looks better then the Lethal Intent helm but I can't find it on the spreadsheet, is there anyway to add a item to the spreadsheet?

My armory is The World of Warcraft Armory - Tapoutimus @ Shadowmoon - Profile

If I understand correctly, you have 264/232 in combat, both swords, which is good, and 245/232 in daggers for mut. Without plugging everything in and carefully examining what spreads of stats you have (armory shows only 393 passive arp) I would guess that those weapons will help you perform better as combat. You have a fair bit of 264 gear, and a few of your weak pieces are 245 which is still decent I guess. As a loose and wild guess just based on what sort of gear you're using/after, I would say play whatever you find fun, though I would posit that combat would in fact do you better with those weapons. A tier or two on a main hand is hundreds of dps easily. If you want some general tips, get rid of those pvp pieces. If you have the gold to spare, get toc crafted wrists and icc crafted boots, and get the hit/ap-on-use trinket from triumph badges. Those will all help you a ton more than a spec swap.

Edit: On the topic of the gems, AP/haste isn't a terrible gem setup for combat, but you may be at the point where arp in red, or even full arp starts to pass your current setup. Obviously this is a question for the spreadsheet, but I wouldn't fret too much over replacing 10+ epic gems. Ap and haste are both "around" 2 EP, where as arp may be around 2 for you currently, but it pushes pretty hard on 3 EP towards the hard cap, as your average item level goes up and you land more passive arp.

Hi all,

My first post so apologies if it's been covered elsewhere, I have searched and done a fair bit of reading but perhaps this is too obvious a question for it to be posted :-S

When I'm tanking I have a real issue with mobs that are spaced out, particularly casters / ranged DPS who won't necessarily come into my DnD range.

Examples are:

Forge of Souls - Where there's 5 mobs and 4 outer ones are casters (surrounding a spriit, I forget names and am at work so can't check). When I make the pull, the outer casters just stay where they are, meaning they're not within my aggro zone of DnD and so are easily pulled by the rest of the group.

Pit of Saron - The 6 mob pulls after Ick. Again there's a flamebearer who doesn't move who I sometimes lose aggro on. I try and Death grip these ones in, but it doesn't always work.

Pit of Saron - Cave run - Again I seem to sometimes lose the odd mob in the cave here.

Any tips for these larger pulls to hold all aggro on me? I've tried using DnD + a death grip, and pestilence etc. but I don't feel like I'm 100% in control when I know I should be.

I've also tried using BB, which again is good but I don't feel like I'm totally in control of the pull.

Any tips on these, what I would call trickier pulls, would be much appreciated. I'm currently blood tanking spec with sub-frost.

Longpot

I am at a lost with my toon,I just can't seem to figure out where I am going wrong.I'm going to try gemming all sp now with only two blues to get my meta bonus on helm.I cant seem to get my dps up to a steady 10k or better,I will hit it once or twice in a three hour raid,I usually stay around 7to8.5k.I use the basic rotation coe, immol, conflag, chaos, spam inncin.I just don't know what else i can do, I have excellent gear so i dont see why i'm not pulling alot more dps then I am.I would apperciate your time and help thanks.

quick question

I basically have always rolled combat gemmming armor pen. Now starting to dual spec mutilate should I switch my gems away from armor pen? Also what is a good rotation for mutilate? Thx for help!

Chaos bane indeed can crit as a warrior. The only time i saw it crit was on the 70 target dummy, and it only happened two times since i've got the weapon. So that's not using spell crit as i've got 24+% spell crit unbuffed, dunno how it works but that's kind of strange

Spec and gear for one or the other, if you try to gear in such a way to do both you will lose a lot in both of them. It's fine to have an offspec and offset for one of them (I do) but don't gem and enchant mainset pieces in a way that tries to accommodate both.

There's one thing I've noted other warlocks doing that isn't discussed so far, gemming more than two Purified Dreadstone in order to match single blue socket bonuses that grant at least 5 spellpower. Because a purified dreadstone is 12 direct spellpower and 10 spirit, and Demo derives considerable SP from Spi, it's borderline worth it. In a raid situation, kings increases each gem to 11 spirit, which is worth 4.29 spellpower from fel armor and 2.2 from GoLT, so it's 6.49 for nonhumans. This means that worst case with kings, a purified is roughly equal to a runed for a 5 spellpower bonus, and superior when either the bonus is higher or when we have 3 or more purified dreadstones. We need two purified dreadstones in any case so it seems to be always worthwhile for items with that socket/bonus setup. Is this logic reasonable, or is there a hole in it that I'm missing?

Just a quick question, I realize we haven't seen the stats (if any) on the new trinkets from Ruby Sanctum but how should we be ranking the effect of the healer trinket? It seems like it would be very useful for raid damage fights, and we see a lot of those in ICC.

* Eyes of Twilight - Each time your direct healing spells heal a target you cause the target of your heal to heal themselves and friends within 10 yards for 356 each sec for 6 sec. (Twilight Renewal)

* Eyes of Twilight - Each time your direct healing spells heal a target you cause the target of your heal to heal themselves and friends within 10 yards for 402 each sec for 6 sec. (Twilight Renewal)

The biggest thing I can mention is to never forget about strangulate. Pulls with more than 2 casters are uncommon, so generally, if you strangulate one, grip one & drop DnD on the whole mess, you'll be fine. The relatively new added threat on IT is also good for rounding up strays that you may not have a good hold on.

Or you could spec AP/haste for Mut, and use the same gear + Rupture for Combat and lose marginal DPS.
