Depending on the proc rate of the trinket it will be situational at best. If it is straight SP then it will probably be worth using full time, but if it is haste or mp5 it will be solely situational. It is very much like Trauma which has a pretty low proc rate and does not score high for overall healing. There are only a couple of fights in ICC that Trauma is worth using. Depending on the proc rate and whatever stat they put on it, it might be better than dual Solace, but we will not know until extensive testing is done.

Hello fellow DKs I have a simple "which is better?" question for DW Frost DPS.
Herkuml War Token or Whispering Fanged Skull?
I'm using Greatness right now, but was wondering if I should eat the 60 frost badge cost and get the Token, or wait for the Skull to drop from Deathwhisper 10-man? My other trinket is Death's Verdict (normal version).

Considering it's proc is direct healing spell then you would be a fool to take it ahead of a druid etc. considering Trauma is currently BIS for druids and this is in the same league.

The description is a little confusing. It does say "Each time your direct healing spell heals a target" so does this not mean that it will be continuously up if you keep casting for at least 6 seconds? And multiple targets if you're healing members of the raid? That's what I got out of it anyway, or is that too far fetched to be considering?

hey guys i've been playing around a bit in arms pve dps lately, wanted to try something new with my alt.
i have to say from reading this, i found some nice info but a lot of stuff on aoe... seriously who cares about aoe dps? :O
Bladestorm: imho it depends too much on fights, it can make you immune to stun etc for the duration so that's when i'd use it, or when i need to burst aoe A LOT, or when i'm very low on rage seems like a nice timing since it'll give u rage and procs. Not very smart to pop Bladestorm during Bloodlust/heroism since it doesn't benefit from haste. Slamming is still fine during BL/hero.
Recklessness: swapping stances is bad for ur rage, u can't hit overpower while in berserker stance, this is also an extra click. I don't like it, we're already rolling over 50% crit chance with all abilities in ICC gear, regardless how you gem and if you're using an Axe or what. If you pop this at start, Juggernaut will go from say 75% crit chance with MS -> 100% lol. Overpower has 100%crit chance so, lol again. If you want to use this, use it with Bladestorm, Slam-streak or Execute-streak. I've been saving it for when boss hits below 20% hp, going berserker stance and spam execute with recklessness is probably the best use of this ability.
Expertise: I really think expertise is great, get urself undodgable at least (like 6.5%?.. 4.5% with that reduced disarm duration and 2% reduced chance to be dodged talent). Why? I don't want to get my rend dodged, that's 1sec+ later TfB, anything else I don't want to get dodged either because it's an extra GCD to hit an extra Overpower, the increase in crit chance +dmg for Overpower vs. whatever else you got dodged with is not so great and it won't pay off. If u'r undodgable, u'r rotation also becomes more predictable.. for example: you know that after this MS u have time to do 1slam (unless SD procs) before TfB procs... rather than: you know that after this MS u have time to do 1slam (unless it gets dodged or SD procs) before TfB procs. also for this example you can already see that 1MS+1slam is more DPET (damage per execution time) than 1MS(dodged)+1overpower+no time for slam. in addition, since haste is not so great for us, most of us are just going for #1 hitcap #2 ArP cap #3 crit. There would be a very small loss of crit to get expertise cap instead.
for the rotation part: keep up rend. do MS as soon as it comes of CD, do Execute as soon as SD procs, u can wait up to 6seconds before hitting OP after TfB procs because you won't get another proc until 6seconds later, but the proc lasts up to 9seconds. Let Rend run out but refresh it IMMEDIATELY, that last tick will proc TfB so refreshing it too early will delay that up to 3seconds. Depending on how great your rage regen is (depends on how much dmg you take, and how much dmg you deal + crit chance), HS doesn't really cost any rage.. it refunds more than it deals and the rage regen is very great in ICC, I found it comfortable to spam HS except when I do MS or Execute, since these both eat up so much rage that with a HS it can drag you dangerously low. Slam if MS is on CD, if you don't have a TfB inc and don't have an execute proc up... since you can wait up to 6seconds before hitting OP after TfB procs, don't be scared to do a Slam before it IF you know you're about to move and would prefer hitting OP on the run.
thx for the help i got from reading your comments etc, and i hope my thoughts will benefit you.

Volatility
I learned about the concept of GDKP from this thread, and find it very intruiging.
I'm a little surprised noone has brought up the issue of loot drop and -win volatility, and how GDKP runs help lessen this. In a normal run, it's hit-or-miss the jackpot: you either walk away with nothing, or, if you're the lottery winner that week, that BiS/mark for free. By doing GDKP runs, you're in effect insuring, and thus ensuring, your cut of the pot: either you get a bunch of gold, or you'll get the item you are seeking at a cost.
All else being equal, GDKP runs lessen the luck factor regarding a player's chance to win the drop. After a few GDKP runs, assuming the raiders are equals, a player will have the gold needed to ensure he/she "wins" the drop. In normal runs, luck plays a much bigger part, and bad streaks can continue for a long time.
Speaking as a pro poker player who's learned to both protect his bankroll and ensure a steady income (even at the cost of Expected Value), I find this very appealing.
I'm going to try to introduce GDKP to Argent Dawn (EU) Alliance side very soon, where I don't believe there has been any yet. Wish me luck =)

Could you post your rotation?
As for your spec check some other druid tanks and ask why they have that spec.
*i was bored at work so i had a quick look* Master shapeshifter gives you 4% physical damage increase so start with somthing like that
Anyway good luck,
Cheers!

Looking at [Trauma], the wording implies certain differences so straight up comparisons to the weapon are probably moot. HoTs shouldn't proc it which could make this less powerful for druids, but the proc seems to be guaranteed which could make for significant splash-healing on offtanks/melee.
Nonetheless, the description may still change so we have no definite information on proc rate, ICD, what spells end up triggering this heal or what the equip stat will be.

I've been trying to tank in DW deep frost for a couple days, but Im not sure whats going wrong. I went into HHoR as my first random heroic as a tank and wiped on the 2nd or 3rd spirit wave. My health is around 29-30k, armor's somewhere around 25k I believe with Frost Presence.
Just wondering, whats stopping me from tanking random heroics, especially the ICC5's. Im generally fine on tanking most heroics and easy ones like UP, UK, VH, etc, but when it comes to ToC5, PoS, HoR, and FoS, it just goes down hill.
Is it the fact that Im DW 2x Rimefang's Claw? I read on WoW forums that DW shouldnt use fast/fast, so I've been trying to run HPoS to get the Tyrannical Beheader.
Note that I have all epics, and I have only 1 dps related item on my DK, Needle-Encrusted Scorpion which I want to replace with Ick's thumb.
If anyone can give me insight on why I cant tank the ICC5 heroics, let me know. I just went as a dps with a prot pally that has 4.5kgs, 33k health, and tanked amazingly, while I have nearly 4.8kgs, and I went into HPoS and the dps asked me to leave before we even started. :|

@ Emilyn
Just a few tips:
- Gear Score means nothing. Your neck, sigil, boots and one trinket are not tank items. That's a great deal of survivability stats you are missing out on.
- Expertise is good, hit rating is extremely low, way too low in fact.
- Try to replace any item that has shield block rating, as it does nothing for you.
- Gems: Use tank gems and not pure str gems. Put a belt buckle in your belt.
- Use your cooldowns wisely on the spirit waves, and dont let mobs have access to your backside.
- While your 2 1 handers have nice stats, they won't produce as much threat as slower dps weapons. I'd grab 2x Black Ice if you can muster it, better threat and you need the hit.
Those are just a few things off the top of my head. Good luck!

I die a little inside whenever I see tankadins going around with seal of command on.
Your 51 points talent and main AoE ability is ENTIRELY designed around using seal of vengeance, what more clues do you need? Aside from the obvious 5/5 SotP
Emergency threat shouldn't even be an issue, ever. Good Paladins don't have those.
Another thing that makes me want to headdesk are lvl 72+ pallies still using seal of wisdom. Not only are you cutting down your dps by half, you're also cutting down your threat.
Its a sad sad world out there.

Glyph of Serpent Sting
I feel that glyph of serpent sting may be a waste to carry. If Chimera Shot refreshes it why would SrS need to last six seconds longer? Is this logic wrong? I was thinking glyph of volley for PvE or glyph of aspect of the viper.
