Sharpened Twilight Scale Normal: (163 * 2.87) + (1304 * .33) = 898.13
Switching to ilvl 277 Frost stats, which lowers ArP value significantly, STS is:
(163 * 2.58) + (1304 * .33) = 850.86
It looks like STS will always be superior in Icecrown Heroic gear, regardless of spec, because of the increase in ArP value at T10 heroic. For ilvl 264 Frost, the trinket's actually slightly worse than HDV ((163 * 2.29) + (1304 * .33) = 803.59), but it's a very minor difference. A couple of 277 pieces should be significant enough to push STS over.

1. Run up to boss
2. Totems down.
3. Wolves
4. Blood Fury
5. Trinket
6. Shamanistic Rage
7. Bloodlust
Or is there a better priority to start up?
Perhaps
1. Run up
2. Totems
3. Wolves
4. Bloodlust
5. Blood fury
6. Trinket
7. Shamanistic Rage
Thanks for input.

As a side note to this, there is a mod called "FreeMe" which immediately removes buffs that you add to it. If you do this with Chaos Bane, you'll see an even bigger gain than /cancelaura.

My question here and following posts should answer this for you here.
I felt the same way after seeing that same build and watching a guy out DPS me, he has a higher GearScore than I but that wasn't the point. In the end if I had the same gear and proper gems I would have out DPS'd him

Anyways, I'm having trouble after respeccing to Marksmen to bring in the ultra deeps that I've seen from players with equal or lesser gear. I have 562 passive ArP, and the Needle Encrusted Scorpion from H FoS. My DPS in heroics just doesn't seem to be as high as I would think it should be. I've seen people in equal to or lesser gear pulling 6-8k dps easy. While I'm stuck pulling 5-7k dps. 7k only under complete and utter perfection between hero and all procs up.
Needle Encrusted Scorpion seems to have a really low uptime.
I was wondering if it would be a better idea to regem the agility I have to ArP which is roughly another 140 ArP which would take me up to 700 passive armor pen and just replace needle encrusted scorpion with something like Death's Verdict or the 25 ICC trinket the drops off LDW.
My rotation is as follows
Serpent>Chimera>Aimed+silence>Steady
Using Kill Shot when it's up and alternating Steady and Auto until Chimera is off CD.
Advice please?

There's a lot that could be going on here and without a combat log, it's really impossible to be accurate. However, you mention raiding as SV and doing heroics as MM--did you mean hard modes? 5man Heroic dps (especially as MM) is going to be a little lower than expected. SV can get a good string of LnL procs and go through a damage spike while the Readiness-Rapid Fire strength of MM is almost always wasted on a heroic boss. Plus, it's really hard to count on decent buffs in a 5man setting. What really matters is raid performance--are you seeing a dropoff there too?

Hey,
I just had a quick question about BiS hunter trinket, Heroic DV or heroic WFS for a MM hunter?
Thanks.

Yet, when I use the training dummy to practice, I am doing significantly less than 4k. On occasion I'll reach 4k for a short point in time due to crits, but in general over time my dps will continually drop until it's 3.5k or less. I'm not sure what I can do to make my dps more in line with what the spreadsheet says it should be. Are there any common mistakes made that would cause me to miss shots, something like that? I just don't know what to do to make what the spreadsheet says match my actual dps.

To follow this up with more useful information, here's my armory link, and here's a WWS of me fighting a training dummy.
Shandara's spreadsheet says I should be doing 4.1k dps in my current gear. I'm doing more in the range of 3.4-3.5k, only ever reaching something like 4.1k in the very beginning when I blow all my cooldowns together. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It seems to me Blizzard wants to change the Death Knight's casting from priority to rotation. With only having 1 regenerating rune per spell element, a rotation style play seems to be the proper function.
If this is so, I am wondering if the new rune system will led to a new Death Knight must have addon for max damage.
With the use of haste and a rotation style play, will we see that gear and enraged timers affect the spec and spell casting rotation to reach maximum damage based on duration of the fight/dance time and the viable number of casts of our highest damaging spell.
Will we see that a new addon shows up that will allow/force us to use a pre-designed rotation, spec, and haste that has been tested and created specifically for that bosses enraged timer or dance timer. (exmple: Sindragosa phase one will have a specific rotation based on the time length between grips and flight phases based on how our designated haste/rune replenish rate.) Quartz meets TellMeWhen style addon where the bars are designed as a testing system for rotation, based on player chosen spells priority, haste, and boss timers. This addon could even be used during the boss fight to lead the player casting choice. A smart designer would have a well made mathematical equation so the player could enter specific data and the addon would spit out the proper rotation with current haste or by entering specific data find the needed haste for their preferred rotation.

You can adjust to a single dodge most of the time with little to no effect in your DPS, but 2 in a row and your rotation is pretty much destroyed for that rune set, and potentially beyond if the timing is really bad.

Yeah. That's what I imagine. I'm not the number crunching type at all, so I figure I'd get some opinions of others who run below expertise cap and see the numbers they run with. I know missing an attack here and there doesn't really affect your overall damage as unholy, I just wasn't sure as to exactly how much you could get away with missing before it starts to hurt more than help.

Okay, so I'm wondering if someone could take a look at my WoL report from a few weeks back, and see if there's something I'm doing wrong. I pulled a bit over 12k dps on Festergut, but I feel I should be doing more dps given my gear. I don't think I had Deathbringers Will during this report, instead using the HWT. I know I can push more dps, but I'm not seeing where to get it from. Here's the report:
World of Logs - Real Time Raid Analysis
The only thing I can think of is me not using BT>BS, but honestly I'm not sure how to go about using it. I'm seeing DK's that pull numbers over 14k, and while they have Shadowmourne and some heroic pieces, I can't believe that those will add over 2k dps...so I think it's something I'm doing wrong.
I currently use the rotation on the OP, with my opening usually being Army>Haste Pot(pre-combat)>Diseases, BS, SS, BS, ERW, SS, SS, Garg(with lust), and then the regular rotation from there. I think this is maximizing the timing on all my cooldowns, relics, and trinkets, but I may be wrong.

On a slightly unrelated topic, does anyone currently on the PTR have information on the new healing trinket (Glowing Twilight Scale)? I'm especially curious if it procs off of every bounce of CH--if so, it seems this should be the new BiS for shamans.

I've followed EJ threads for a long time now. Fast question.
Does anyone have any information on a presumable haste cap for demo? I find myself at about 1250~ haste with spellstone, and haven't come across any readings on having TOO much haste in demo. Anyone have any results of if the benefit of haste decreases at any certain point?

While a tiny bit outdated, this is still your best option: Maintankadin • View topic - Mel's 25-man Progression Gear Guide
Playing a bit with Rawr tank settings should give you a solid list as well. Though I have to admit that -when I still raided-, I usually just tweaked the Rawr tank settings till the BiS gear list in Rawr was the same as the one I had made up in my mind anyway.
Note that tanks don't have a static BiS list like DPS, which is also why you have tons of options in the Maintankadin link under rings and trinkets.

From playing arena, I havent seen anyhting like this, Kind of dumb for arena imo due to the fact arena takes far more skill and awareness that raiding and to have a warning flash on your screen everytme one needs to perform an action would take away from the challenge.
Im assuming you are trying to have a warning for fights like LK where TS is needed pending on raid comp? Only thing I know of is to warch DXE or DBM or personally read the debuffs that are on the actual mob and watch for them.
