I'm leveling my sham and the 38 min ques as elemental blow. I'm wanting to throw down on a resto spec since its similar gear, I'm concerned that i won't have enough Mp5 for some of the fights. What is a good baseline mp5 amount for me to start healing through dungeons in the 70s? is the BoA gear(shoulder+chest) and a piece or 2 more enough? i realize i can just drink but no one likes downtime. At the moment my Sham is lvl 71, and i have about 87mp5 on my gear. I read through the TTT for resto and nothing like this was listed, it might make a good addition to the "leveling as resto section"

You don't need mp5 gear for 5 mans. You can drink between pulls if you actually need mana. Mp5 makes a very negligible difference on a fight to fight basis. Sure, over the instance you might get a good amount of mana out of it, but if a pull lasts 15 seconds, 100mp5 means you gained 300 mana, not even enough for a lesser healing wave at level 70. Plus the content is relatively easy, because the dungeons are balanced around healing dps death knights in greens "of the whale" and 60 points in blood.

If you need mana, just make sure you have earth shield the tank and start to drink after moving but right before charging the next group. You should get a good 5-10 seconds of drink time while waiting for the tank to take a sizeable chunk of damage, which is plenty to keep you going.

Thx for this tip, now it works. I was wondering that the subdomains of tokens are not selected if you select the main checkbox.

DPSTime - Addons - Curse

Quoting the addon's page:
"This add-on monitors the time between finishing one cast and starting another, providing this feedback to the user so that they can reduce this lost dps time. It's aim is to help improve this ABC - always be casting. It currently rates the gap as follows, with a summary at the end of combat."

If you have a good latency to the sever ( 100ms < ) this addon should always show something between 0 and 50ms. Lesser is preferable. Zero is no dps loss.

But if you get some big values (150+) then you are experiencing some kind of problem, and if your ISP is good, that's probably hardware latency.

At the end of the fight it shows a summary, with a % of lost time. That's a good index in patchwerk-style encouters, where your dps lost should be something less than 1%

It also does some cast rotation tips which I always ignore lol
Thanks for the help, nice addon. And I do have some problems, I am experiencing 8-12% dps loss. Time for a new computer I guess lol.
