I apologize for changing the topic, but I have a suggestion for Assassination DPS. I hear that Assassination DPS is not on par with Combat, so I have come up with a suggestion. What would happen if we brought the old glyph effect to Master Poisoner and brought in a Turn the Tables glyph which allowed the crit chance applied to all attacks? It would give an energy dump along with an increased crit chance on attacks by 3% ( because it would replace CQC ) with maybe a +6% chance to crit on poisons. But if the DPS is too much I could understand it just sticking to white attacks and combo moves only. And assuming this was a good idea and brought us back to Rupture no longer being apart of the cycle, maybe adding a higher AP coefficient to Rupture from Hunger for Blood. I could understand adding the AP coefficient to HfB while not allowing the additional 6% poison crit chance because that may bring too high of a DPS increase, but either way everything could be ironed out. I would really like to hear feedback on this.
There is no AP coefficient to Rupture from HfB. HfB is already going to be 18% damage increase, Blizzard can't put that much of an increase into a single talent...well I guess they could. They've already shown a propensity to use HfB as a "hey, we need to balance tree DPS, so we'll just adjust this talent and not address the underlying mechanics that are screwing up the situation."
Also, with the TtT glyph proposition: that would put an extra 11% crit in the Assassination tree. A better suggestion to me would be to make that +6% hit to poisons. That would put us at 11% hit for poisons and 5% for physical. Add in Misery and we're looking at 14% hit. That means that the rogue would only have to add 3% hit from gear to be both special capped and poison capped. It would allow us more itemization choices, unless the new tier pieces are stacked in hit (I haven't looked at T8 yet). However, this is all just conjecture and theory based on nothing, and I would actually rather see Blizzard re-work the entire rogue class mechanics than to just continually tweak certain talents/abilities.
Folks I'm in a sort of dilemma at the moment. I've got 2 questions I'd like some opinions on seeing how there are opposing views on the matter from speaking to various end-game ret paladins.
1. If using a Darkmoon Card: Greatness trinket, which is the better second trink; Mirror of Truth or the JC Boar with 2x16 str gems in it.
2. Is it worth using the Valorous Helm for the 4-piece bonus? If so - are Crude Discoloured Battlegrips or [Zeliek's Gauntlets] better?
Yeah, Earlier it was decided that using life tap on demand is more dps then trying to keep up the lifetap buff from the glyph. The life tap glyph is probably our highest dps boost, due to the high levels of spirit in higher levels of gear. Getting 40% of that as spell power is crazy. I have problems believing that it will stay like that through the patch, but we can only hope. It was noted though that on most fights you will life tap to full mana during breaks in the fight, but I think it will take some actual testing in real world play to see how much DPS the glyph actually equates to.

1) Mirror of Truth, hands down.
2) 4pc is pretty huge, so I'd say yes. As for the other two, I don't know the stats offhand (for future reference, enclosing an item name in item and /item tags (with square brackets around them, like other BBcode commands) will create a wowhead link to the item that we can hover over... here's an example:
Previous posts mentioned the EGG bug was fixed!! I did not see any difference. Last night in NAxx 25 man the EGG procced 180 times(measured with Procodile) wheras my standard Sundial did 210 times.
That is odd. I copied my Mage over to PvP test server, bought the Egg, and headed to the nearest Practice Dummy. Had no procs after 5 minutes of chain-casting AM.
I will admit right off the bat that I didn't "read" every single post in this thread (23 pages is a LOT)... so please feel free to flame away if this has already been posted/discussed. The only thing I would ask, is that with the flame, is a post number or something so that I can re-find the info without having to re-read the ~600 posts to find my info
Anyway, some facts, and then my questions.
I am playing WoW on my 17" MacBook Pro, and I want to get an external control device so that I am not button-mashing my built-in keyboard to death. I have only been playing WoW for a month, so I am not really going to have to "relearn" anything (which is nice)... but I want to make sure that the devices I get are not only the best available, but fit my "needs".
I have heard a lot of good things about the Logitech G13, which is #1 on my current list of "must haves". Are there any Mac users out there using this device who have had significant issues with it? I don't fully understand all of the control aspects of the game yet (macros/custome scripts)... but I am sure that will change in time. I don't want to buy the G13, and then find out in a month or two that it doesn't do something correctly on my Mac.
For a mouse, I am currently using a VX Nano, but I am going to be changing that to a Razer ProClick 1.6. This one is much less of a questionmark, because my brother-in-law has one that he has been using for a while. I like the fact that it has 5 programable buttons and what seems to be high-quality sensor.
I am still doing some research for a good set of headphones, but am leaning towards a few different Plantronics sets (THESE) or THIS set by TRITTON. Any and all comments on these headsets and others are welcomed and encouraged (lol).

I'm going to assume that you were on the live servers, not the PTR. Is that correct?
I have been pounding my head on the wall trying to figure out why my Seed is hitting for a 1,000 less than a lock not geared as well with a similar spec. Thoughts?

As of right now on life, the Egg still procs for Damaging Spells, however after some testing on a test dummy on the PTR I didn't receive one proc from the Egg, so I am assuming that they finally fixed the bug come the next patch.
I've seen it said that below 25%, you should start Drain Soul. However, could someone tell me when I should be doing it? Do I drop SB and use Drain Soul as filler in between refreshing dots?
I have been looking through this thread looking for a DW spec, but the problem I'm running into is that everyone is using WoWHead or MMOChampion talent trees, and none of them are up to date with the most recent talent tree changes. Does anyone have an updated talent tree spec they can show?
It seems that the 40% life tap glyph was a bug, so I've reverted it to 20% in the code. The OP has been updated. It still turns out to be a slight DPS gain for every spec to life tap every 20 seconds.
That's including the 4pc T7 bonus on all profiles though right?
How is MM holding up against other hunters/classes in the PTR?
I guess an issue for balancing vs surv is that if we are equal in DPS, we'll have it much better, esp in PvP as we'll have more access to instant shots. I don't mind being a little behind surv spec but not by much and def still higher than the hybrid DPS classes.
I also have a request if anyone could be so kind...The spreadsheet says it can't find me in the armoury, maybe it's an Excel for Mac issue but I really need some info. Could someone see what my DPS is now and what difference it would make if I changed the family ring for the ring of scarlet shadows with an infused gem (getting me to the hit cap w/o FA) and I swap out the point in FA to UF, ISS or WQ? I'll owe you one!
Hi, been lurking for a while and so recently signed up.
I have been specced Unholy for a while, but it's become quite boring and feel I have achieved all I can with it, so I respecced to 51/0/20. I feel my gear is good enough now to pull it off quite well (there are some improvements that I am working on, namely gems) and so was wondering what rotation is best at the moment.
Is it the 2 OB 2 HS rotation or the 1 OB 4 HS rotation? Do you need SoA for the first rotation to be better? Until it drops, is the starter sigil better than the badge one?
If somebody could try out a run with a Meta/Ruin spec but do a "what if" all demonology buffs applied to the Doomguard as if it was a Felguard - that would be very interesting. I am trying to figure out if doing that would just make deep Demonology and Destruction builds able to use/competitive with the Doomguard, or would it be OP?
Haste and Armor pen have historically benefited survival and marks more than BM. There is no data that I have seen that would give the impression that BM would all of a sudden start to benefit from Armor pen more than the other specs. If the armor pen becomes passively applied to the pet, then we can start talking about this again. However with BM, Marks, and Survival coming closer in estimated dps, and armor pen only applying to 55-60% of the BM's damage (compared to 75-85% of survival or marks), there really is no comparison.
Consequently, the majority of Ulduar gear would seem to benefit Marks and Survival more than BM. However, this is a trend that has taken place throughout WotLK so far. Haste in T7. Armor Pen in T8. Maybe T9 will have more of the pure stats, like Agi/AP and then all three specs will start to shine.
I agree that perhaps the more pure stats will be Blizz choice in the t9 gear with gem slots or more class specific enchants..I like the dual spec idea aswell ....Any news as to when 3.1 is coming ?
