Would like to thank everyone who posted valuable information on these forums.
Downed Sarth3D last week and won the drake.
I am still in the spec I used which was an Unholy/Blood mix (24/5/42). I used nothing in the way of mitigation until the 3rd drake lands. I used AMS , IBF , BS ,and AMZ in that order with a DiscPriest/HolyPally combo as healers. Never dropped below 75% health.
I'm very undecided if demonic power is really the best choice on talent placing in destro i don't feel as if the succubus does enough damage to put those 2 points there. but i don't really know where else to put them.
Careful guys, there's a troll rogue Mod with a bone to pick with pallies apparently. Even if your post is a comparison and contrast, or a critique of Blue posts it may be flagged as an infraction.
See, THIS is a whiney post, my previous was not.
Prepared for the incoming ban. Even tho I originally didn't deserve it.
I am currently specced as 51/0/20 and wondering whether my DPS is better off with Blood Presence or Unholy Presence?
With the spec built around not using diseases and trying to proc blood caked blade and Necrosis. Would the haste + GCD be better off for me then the 15% increased Damage?
First off I would like to know, what should my goal be for hit rating as dual wield spec? I know hit cap is 886, but I have been told that it is impossiable to reach this with decent gear.
Also I am having trouble with my rotation...I don't remember exactly what i saw for a good rotation, but I try and do this:
IT -> PS -> HB -> BS-> BS-> (Here i get confused...i usually do IT i think) -> Same as last -> Dump/HB (if its off cd) -> What ever I didn't do last time REPEAT
Trying for a bump...
With My bump unsuccessful, I guess I will have to quote myself to bring attention to my question.
Show me a 25 man raid without multiple sources of replenishment as is. The hunter bringing it is not neccessary with as many classes bringing it now, and even MORE of them bringing it in 3.1. And besides even if you have a few SV hunters, it only takes one for 100% uptime.
My guild has exactly one raiding ret pally, zero raiding spriests, and zero raiding hunters beside my alt that I'm trying to transition to being my main (yes, for 25s not 10s), /shrug.
Tracks debuffs on your raid and highlights people that you can decurse (d'uh, decursi-ve) or AP. Is it worth it or not - it's up to you. Your raidleaders probably require it as a must have addon anyway.
Personally I didn't like it at all, so what I did was reconfig my grid to show a dot in the corner for curses/poisons I can cleanse. Works like a charm.
Guys I am having one question and am sure you can help me with the following. I have the following three buffs at hand: a) Heroism, b) Rapid Fire, c) Potion of Haste now if I am going to use Rapid Fire together with Heroism I am under my GCD (I have 10% haste) so I thought of using all these buffs this way: 1.Heroism then when it is out Rapid Fire and after Rapid Fire I will use Potion of Speed. Or do you think I should go for all three effects at the same time as the white dmg will be huge and I am anway not casting many steadys as a SV Hunter?
as would be good practice to get in some rotations while leveling as per wowwiki:
This build focuses on a new Death Knight that wants to Tank in the future, but also realizes that Lv. 80 is a long way. It will allow you to practice with two rotations designed for single targets/bosses or multiple mob AOE encounters. The build also focuses on big two-hander weapons. Leveling is extremely quick due to the crit heavy nature of this build. Even at starting levels, expect 1.2k to 2k crits. Most mobs will fall in seconds. It also gives you the most important frost survival tools (Lichborn, Deathchill, and Unbreakable Armor). Having tested this build from 58 - 80, I'm please to say that death was extremely rare. The build is designed to get you started from day one (Lv. 58). Completely fill out the frost tree first, then make your way to the Blood and Unholy trees. As far as the rotations go at Lv. 58:
Multiple target AOE DPS/Tanking: (Death&Decay once acquired) Icy Touch ->> Plague Strike ->> Pestilence ->> Howling Blast ->> Blood Boil ->> Frost Strike (Switch enemies as current target's health depletes below 30%)
Problem I now have is that with 3.1 coming out this tree is all shuffled and howling blast now a 51 point talent...any suggestions around this as where i should drop my other 2 points from?
First of all i have to say that HaT wasn`t really a spec of choice foe me cause i always thought it is very limited in its potential and more or less restricted to show its full potential in static fight like patchwork only.
But as i read to all this pages (which i haven`t completed yet) i guess HaT is worth considering and maybe i underestimated it.
Can someone of the more experienced HaT people here explain if HaT is always a DPS Increase compared to combat even if you don`t have the optimal raid setup which pushes HaT to the limit?
As it seems HaT dps is really varing from encounter to encounter and of course dependent on your raid setup.
This question is even if we don`t assume the optimal raid setup is HaT still competitive to combat, cause this is the question which bothers me the most.
And what predictions for HaT can we make when 3.1 arises?
Its kinda difficult to get the information out of this thread entirely so allow me this questions to get an more concrete idea of what HaT is all about.
With all the changes in 3.1, which spec does it seem will be the highest dps? Did the ES nerf really make that much of an impact on the PTR? How does Black Arrow compare to tossing on a SS, and do they stack? I'd like to see some spec examples, if you guys wouldn't mind posting what you're going with after the patch. Glyphs included.
the answer to your question is still on this page. A few posts above I posted a comparison between combat, mutilate and HaT.
"Another question before was to find a breakeven point in crit/sec rate at which HaT surpasses Mutilate and Combat. The results might be off a little bit because to calculate Mutilate and Combat dps before I used optimal gear and gemming for each spec, but nonetheless I obtained about 6200 dps for mutilate and about 5500 dps for combat. Spec A which does more dps at lower crit/sec rates, matches combat dps at around 1.05 crit/sec and mutilate dps at around 1.63 crit/second."
In addition to that you should know that achieveing 1.05 crit/sec is no big deal at all. A reasonably geared fury warrior adds 0.3 crit second, so 4 of them will give you 1.2 crit/sec. To get to 1.63 crit/sec, you will probably need some hunters in your group. Their crit/sec rates should be around 0.5-0.7 depending on gear and pet. If you want to know about how much HaT ppm each class is worth, look back a few pages or you can also get an idea from a library of crit rates I started building in my simulation spreadsheet.
I'd say if you have 2 hunters in your group, you should have no problem beating combat and mutilate rogues in dps in live right now.
It's too early to say anything about 3.1 because they are putting effort in balancing rogue dps across different trees before it goes live. But it's going to take a big change to HaT to make sure it does not scale faster than other specs.
Thanks for your kind reply Mavanas i will try to dive more deeply into the HaT mechanics to improve my understanding of it. You may allow a few further questions.
Am i right to assume that HaT is foremost a viable spec in 25 instances cause in 10 man raids the chance is pretty high that you havent the appropriate setup to beat mutilate/combat?
If the answer is no would you recommend Webbed Death and Hailstorm for a HaT Build as the weapon choice?
On live fast/fast seem to be the soulution to prefer so i could give it a try tonight.
Am i right to conclude that esspecially on setups where the average critraid of each raidmember isn`t all to good for HaT you are better off with spaming evisverate instad of rupture + eviscerate?
As for my gear u may want to take a look at it to recommend geming otherwise or playing around with other stats if its neccesary for HaT:
Hi all, my 1st post here but I follow this foruns often
Im writing cause i dont realy know if I should use [Valorous Cryptstalker Legguards] or [Leggings of Failed Escape]. Im asking cause I only got one of them and i dont know if needing others are a waste of dkps or not...
Could not find an answer for this while searching...
For DPS DK ist is quite obvious, Strength is the Food to go for, but AP is accepted in case there is a feast.
But for tanking I wonder...
I'd also take the feast in the raid, but what for 5mas etc or if there is no feast?
I think, all of the Food does provide the same amount of Stamina, so..
- Strength: More Parry, More AP, More Threat
- Agility: More Dodge, More Crit, Slightly more Armor
What else?
Haste?
Armor Pen?
Expertise and Hit are probably the best threat food recipes (exp till dodge cap then hit), agility is probably the best damage reduction one. Haste isn't very good and ArP is even worse (unless you're blood)
