I was wondering what people thought the general impact of the removal of 'on next attack' abilities would be? As it stands in heroics between 50-70% of my damage will be Maul with melee making up around 5% of total damage. Whilst it is clear this is pretty broken, I will miss the substanial threat that near constant Maul uptime creates and wonder just how competative druid (and similarly Warriors with HS/cleave spam and DKs with Rune Strike) threat will be given we lose all major threat bonuses from our converted auto attacks.

How much expertise is enough? Should I be shooting for the hardcap on it? The World of Warcraft Armory - Tanyaka @ Moon Guard - Profile is my current armory and im thinking that I could benefit from a more HP oriented weapon and a different neckpiece.

I apologize if this has been posted before, as I couldn't quite find the answers even with searching (only searches turned up a flamewar that's in the dung heap)

Have changed over from my druid to play a resto shaman for ICC25H after it being an alt. I currently have all 5pc 264 sanctified, and current using 4pc + Rippling Flesh Kilt (264).

Last week I picked up Unclean Surgical Gloves *277* and I remember reading that those gloves + 277 4pc was BIS. My question was, at which point can I equip them? Should I wait till I have 4pc 277, or equip them right away and swap to tier legs?

Also how many people are using manta ray over fish feast? Most of my HEP logs still have 2.8haste over SP.

is anyone able to verify whether or not the drop rate on the shards actually increases if more people are able to collect them?

i highly doubt it would personally, but its been questioned through my guild for the last 2-3 weeks

I feel it's impossible to get a straight answer from any dk on my server, I know the advantages of every spec utility etc, but what is Specifically the best dps dk spec right now just plain and simple with every raid buff being already brought that dks need? I'm not even sure if this is an answerable question, I was going to just put in sims of every spec in BIS gear but that's not realistic, I'm new to the class(as in been 80 3 weeks using 2pc t10/misc pve gear bryntroll, and before gearing out I wanted to make sure I understand what the truly best don't expect you to check it but if you're curious.Some crappy alt)

DKs are basically a brand new class in Cataclysm. The redesign of the 3 trees and the change to the energy system (oops, I mean "new rune system") basically throws out alot of the balancing they did on tanks during WotLK. I was in the WotLK beta, and they really didn't seem to pay attention to much of the feedback at the time and the resulting rollercoaster of balance changes followed after release. Expect a 2nd ride on the balance rollercoaster come Cataclysm, IMO.

Hello, and thanks for this post. Im kind of new to this whole thing but im reading up and trying to cath, but most of stuffs sounds really confusing to me.

But reading the first page, it seen that haste have a big impact on unholy (frost bub-spec) now, and to the point where engenier is one of the bests profession for dk.

But as I was told Str is one of the best stats for dk, and changing from Blacksmith to engennier i would lose 40 str from sockets + atack power from enchat to gain haste and nitro.

Is that really worth it? Can someone explain it to me the point that Im missing.

To what point should i focus on strenght? and is there a cap for haste?

i whould like to know how much is the minimum crit to switch from Arcane to TTW/Fire in ICC hero encounter (considering that with some fight arcane can perform betters). Thanks a lot.

If they'd removed it tomorrow without compensation, sure.

This is for Cataclysm we are talking about, they will be doing all new dps/tps/surviv/healing tests to make sure it starts off where they want it.

I don't even understand how this is a question.

I'd be like if they were removing Shred from cats. Who cares about the general impact, the loss will be made up through buffs to other abilities.

Hello guys, i have a question or some sort of an idea.

I was thinking about impoving my dmg on Lichking during p1. We dont need any bombdmg. But i looked over my spells and with Drdmg(shows dps and other information in the spell itself) i thought about living bomb the ghuls because of singletarget dmg on lichking.

1. Every Livingbomb will give me an explosion, which will hit the Lichking.
2. Every livingbomb will certanly give me a hotstreakprocc(most likely).

I did math on it and it showed that with this method i would gain more damage on lichking because with my stats i basicly exchange 1 Fireball (i have exacktly 2secs casttime) with an livingbombexplosion(1sec) and an pyro(again 1 sec).
For me i will do 7.5k dmg more with this combo then with an fireball and will do additional dmg on ghuls, which is never bad ^^

The first problem i have with this is, that i cant realy calculate how my normal hotstreakproccs will change this outcome.
The second problem is, that i need a little time to cast pyro. So i tried it and i did only 2-3 livingboms on ghuls because i of overlapping hotstreakproccs.
If this would do more dmg, the benefit of it would dimish if your haste increases because of gcd


Can someone tell me about my idea? Maybe its totalrubbish maybe not.

ps. I did test it but because of rnd , i could not really tell differences.
