As it stands in heroics between 50-70% of my damage will be Maul with melee making up around 5% of total damage. Whilst it is clear this is pretty broken, I will miss the substanial threat that near constant Maul uptime creates and wonder just how competative druid (and similarly Warriors with HS/cleave spam and DKs with Rune Strike) threat will be given we lose all major threat bonuses from our converted auto attacks.

If they'd removed it tomorrow without compensation, sure.
This is for Cataclysm we are talking about, they will be doing all new dps/tps/surviv/healing tests to make sure it starts off where they want it.
I don't even understand how this is a question.
I'd be like if they were removing Shred from cats. Who cares about the general impact, the loss will be made up through buffs to other abilities.
