The problem with this Demonology spec that requires you to sacrifice your demon which causes a loss of the party-wide buffs. So you'll have to balance the benefit of a single target's DPS boost with the downside of raid members getting lower HP and such.

This is wrong. As a Demon lock you DO NOT want to sacrifice your pet and DO NOT want to use the succubus. Half the talents in a deep demon spec rely on your demon being ALIVE.
The main point of being deep demon as of right now is to give the Demonic pact buff (10% of your spell power to everyone in the raid). Using the felguard will be your best choice as a pet. You only really want 1 Demon spec lock in the raid, otherwise some weird things happens to the Demonic Pact buff. At this current point in the game, Demon locks sacrifice their own DPS for RDPS. (e.g. choosing pieces of gear with spirit on it over haste or crit to increase their own spell power more.)
Destro is an easier spec to play, and is more about the damage. Destro is better in 10 mans when there are not as many people to benefit from your demonic pact buff, or when there is already a demon lock in the raid. Also the common Destro spec has Replenishment which will give mana back to the 10 people with the lowest mana, which is nice to have on long boss fights.
Additionally AoE is better on a Demon and Affliction lock than a Destro lock. For a Demon lock, you pop into Meta and use Immolation aura with SoC, far outweighs anything a desto lock can do AoE wise.
