Now there's a rumour going around that Blues will not have their real names posted on the forums because they "cannot risk having their personal lives compromised by in-game issues." Right now it's a rumour but if that reason is true, then I don't understand how Blizzard can hope to get away from blatant hypocrisy.

Rumor: Blizzard employee's real life names will not appear on the Real ID forums

So you're selectively ignoring what we're saying and jumping to conclusions? Well, in that case, let me restate because I thought it was already clear from the previous times we answered this question and from the original message ("With this change, you’ll see blue posters (i.e. Blizzard employees) posting by their real first and last names on our forums as well."). We will be posting in the new style forums, and because choosing to post in the new forums means that you display your real name, we too will display our real name.
Source

They're repeatedly stating that Blizzard employees will be posting under their full names. They're not hypocrites.

This is not a defense of their plan. It's still an overall very bad idea and we can hope they will be encouraged to change the plan. If you're going to blame them for something or be upset, blame and be upset for legitimate reasons.

Rock: "We're sub-standard DPS. Nerf Paper, Scissors are fine."
Paper: "OMG, WTF, Scissors!"
Scissors: "Rock is OP and Paper are QQers. We need PvP buffs."

Yeah, as it stands now it's just a rumour which has been published by Wow.com; but there have been instances in the past when there has been a communication disconnect between EU and the US and I hope this is not one of those instances.

All out STRIKE on July 13th

Ok, I admit this change is bad. Very bad.

For a great many reasons I (or anyone) might not want to divulge to the world that I play World of Warcraft, and whatever those reasons are it's my right to do so.

I'm certain the 1342+ pages of the official announcement of the feature in the official forums already shows how much people oppose this feature. In this post I propose yet another method of protest: a WoW strike.

Lets all show how discontent with this feature by emptying their servers from players 1 week after the official announcement of Real ID on the forums. If you object to this feature, don't login on the 13th of July. Blizzard will certainly notice the uncommonly low server usage and they will know (because I will post this on official forums) what is the cause.

To spread the word, use the following macro on Trade (try to be civil and not spam it. Once a minute should be more than enough):

/2 WoW STRIKE: If you object to the RealID feature on the forums (showing your real name when you post), don't login to World of Warcraft on the 13th of July. Spread the word.
Spread the word on your server, spread the word on your guild, spread the word on your blog, spread the word on other forums. Spread the word. WoW will be empty of people against this feature on the 13th.

There are many reasons to be against this feature, but I'll only attack the stated reason for this change: lower trolling.

There are other ways to combat the amount of trolling, almost none of which involves giving out our real name (and all the implications of such an act) whenever we post in a recruit thread, or a support thread, or a LFM thread. Lower trolling cannot come at the cost which giving out "my" real name on the Internet incurs. It simply cannot.

As an alternative suggestion for this issue I can, off the top of my head, suggest that posters must always use the character with the most /played to post on forums. That way their posts will be associated with the character they play the most, supposedly their main. People who troll on level 1 chars, certainly do not with to show their main's face.

Especially with issues as delicate as this. I see no reason for Blizzard's employees to double-back on their own word once the realID forum system kicks in. It will do the company more harm than good in any situation. Besides, the community have been able to obtain some of the more famous (or sometimes, infamous) employees anyways, albeit with great difficulty.

Whilst I can see a lot of points that needed trimming in all three talent trees, I am curious how they'll manage to slot two different classes in a single tree. Additionally, they're trimming the PvE/PvP differences, which currently were largely grounded in cat-talents.

....anyone else feel like the Real ID stuff was just a smokescreen for this? Logically, I am going to reserve judgment until we see the revamped trees, but there's that wee, itty-bitty, teeneh-tineh, tineh bit in the back of my head that's screaming "NERF! NERF! NERRRRRRRRRRRRF!"

A few months ago I was convinced I'd buy every blizzard game that gets released, and now I probably won't even buy SC2 :S

I don't play onlinegames to facebook, I facebook for facebook, I don't log into bnet to find a girlfriends or people I went to school with. >:<
First they remove chatchannels from BNET2.0, because of spammers. The trolls won.
The trolls troll forums, now _YOU_ have to post with your realname. The trolls win again.

Thanks.
I haven't done the math, but just thinking about doing that, you'd lose, at minimum, one blood rune and one unholy rune, without doing any damage, for 15% additional haste on our gargoyal's attacks. that means we lose one BS, and one SS, along with the RP gains that those two attacks give, for that 15% haste.

All this aside, the TG penalty was an emergency move from Blizzard and I don't think they view it as very exciting mechanic.

Totally agreeing with this. I'm hoping they make enrage effects spec defining thing for fury, and come up with other ideas for prot and arms. It just has to be wrecking crew type of crit activated enrage, and Blizz will get my money.
Zarhym stated that they're in the process of eliminating the 5 point talents with the complete revision of the talent trees. If that's the case, (and i know they haven't put out new talent trees yet), it may be possible to get both enrage and wc, pending the talents still exist in the upper tiers. I'm curious to see what will be available to each spec at lower lvls.

Having a little trouble with fire, don't get me wrong; I'm not a bad player, I did very well with Arcane but my numbers with fire are dire. I switched to fire after being told it was better than Arcane without really paying much attention to the theory-craft up until now, and as a result my performance isn't as good as I know it can be.

Currently I'm tying in combustion and trinkets with my spells via macros (not mirror images, which I will either use at the start, or slightly delayed until after lust has been cast if I know it's near the start of a fight). I will apply LB and fireball and cast streaks when I get them (I think this is a problem). Prioritising as such: Use HS > Reapply LB > Fireball.

When is a good time to use Hot Streak? I know there are bits of information here and there on the forum, however I'm having trouble weeding out precise steps to follow.

Scorch: Do I need to apply scorch? I have always assumed (as my raid leader has told me) that another class will always have the 5% crit on; I have a feeling frost mages can also do this? My guild has a frost mage in.

Basically, what should my priority rotation be as fire?
Thanks.

Of course not, but it at least shows its worth putting the time into modeling correctly.

Very interesting announcement.

Presumably talents that will become fully passive will be things like vigour and malice in the assassination tree.

Will be nice to see the new trees though.

Can't help thinking this was rushed to shut people up about other matters

Our guild has had quite a bit of discussion concerning who to Focus Magic. Back on page 143 there is an outdated chart, was hoping if we could get it updated based on tier 10 and 3.3.5 changes
