that would make things better but still you'd be losing out on str/ap. nightmare tear= 10str pls bonus =16 str so 16 str 21 agi and 3%crit. or 20str, 42ap. thats 32ap with some agil and crit for 82 ap. do you really wanna sacrifice 50 ap for some crit and agil?
Are you kidding? Attack power means NOTHING for death knights. All of our AP should come from strength. Never EVER gem for AP.
Say you are running with 2K base strength. 1 nightmare tear adds 20 strength to your stats. Not to mention 10 to EVERY other stat that you have at your disposal.
The metas have been field tested, simmed, and are SET IN STONE for a death knight who wants to be competitive.
Hey guys. I had a question about an Arms Warrior build, so I thought I'd come to the best and get solid answers.
My question is this: would an Arms build with stacked, large amounts of haste, attack power and Sword Specialization be a viable DPS build? The build would be as follows: Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft
The class would be a Dwarf, as I'm currently alliance and I'd rather have the attack power racial boost to invisibility (Shadowmeld) or EMFH.
Once again, I haven't actually made this character yet, but my rotation would likely be: Rend > Mortal Strike > Heroic Strike (whenever) with Overpower and Execute when available.
Now, I know that Slam wouldn't fit with the swing timers, but couldn't the faster hits (more SS procs and more Sudden Death availability) offset the loss of Slam?
A few gear pieces would be Herkuml War Token (153 haste), Tears of Bitter Anguish (73 haste, 410 haste proc), Signet of Edward the Odd (29 haste, 59 attack power and 125 haste proc), Quel'Denar, Might of the Faithful (91 haste) and Hyperspeed Accelerators (Engineering, 340 haste for 12 seconds every minute), among other plate haste gear. Each slot would have a Stark Ametrine, providing another +20 attack power (for Execute) and +10 haste.
Luckily, there is a fair amount of haste plate gear available, so I'm not concerned in that regard.
I just picture a warrior wielding a 2h sword, swinging ridiculously fast, getting double-hits frequently (due to SS) and executing very often. He'd also have 3 haste procs/abilities and an attack power ability each minute or two.
(Please, please, please don't just rule it out because conventional wisdom tells you to manage haste for Slam's sake... it's a different idea, and I'd like to see if it's viable.)
I have recently tanked one of the new Cata dungeons (I wear a mix of 264 an 277 gear), and I have to say that our aethreat is seriously messed up at the moment.
My swipedmg on live crits around 1100 unbuffed, on the PTR it averages around 300 with no additional aggromodifiers that causes mobs to not even to look at me before they go straight for the healer or the dds. Trash generates a bit more aggro but not enough to bind the mobs to me so I can start gaining threat on the initial target an tab through the rest of them without having to use growl on cooldown. Maul (with the glyph) helps, but doesn't stop trashgroups from being a very annoying experience.
With the arrival of real specialisation, Blizz could give Rets an other resource than mana, eliminating all the gcd-lock problems. Every ability (especially the utility ones in which I include all heals) could cost a fixed value in this new resource, or they could keep mana for utility and make the new resource for dps-abilities.
The fact that you decide to become Ret at level 10 makes it easier to implement this system, as there are no more real hybrids. Resourcecapping would also limit off-healing.

I know this is probably off topic, but I was told to come to this site because it is the best when it comes to answering questions about any given specialty.
I have been tanking since level 70 on my prot warrior, and was doing fine except for the every once in a while group member that had the answer to everything.. and trust me I am up to any suggestions to help me be a better tank!
My problem is now that I am doing heroics, which at first seem to be going very well, no all it is is ugly, LOL Every site has suggestions about rotations or priority, and I have over the last week read many of them. I am pretty well geared, and I am above def cap; but I am lost to why things are not sticking to me any longer....
Any suggestions from my brother tanks out there would be greatly appreciated in the area of rotation/priority, until then I will most likely go back to non -heroics to see how it goes there.
/targetenemy used to have the same functionality as tabbing & I don't remember seeing that it was broken by any patches. The following should work for you:
However, I'd personally recommend using an addon like Tidy Plates instead that puts your threat % for each mob in their nameplate and then click the plates to change to the lowest threat target after each cleave instead. It's not automated but you'll ultimately have much better control over all the mobs in the group rather than relying on randomness.
Thanks for the macro idea and the addon suggestion
While viewing the forum in thread view, look in the bottom left of the page (you may have to scroll). See the selection frame that says 1 month? You can change that to show threads from the beginning, the last week, the last day... On a forum as large as EJ it's useful to cut down the initial clutter when you hit a forum by having it set to only show the recent activity, but if you want to see everything you still can.
yea that helped, i found it thanks so much guys appreciate it
I hate to ask but, would anyone mind making a complete list of changes required to fix the spreadsheet? I can add gear and what not but I've been reading over the past few pages and I don't quite understand all the formula changes. So a consolidated list would be nice.
I don't like it... can't believe bosses will be able to be dazed, the point in "Restistance is futile" is a wasted one, "Careful Aim" seems to be not very good either. Argh! Think I'm not gonna stay MM in Cata.
