From what I understand, both would be small DPS gains. The question is, should I take the points out of BCB or Necrosis first? I don't want to wait until the weekend, when I will be able to get and analyze fresh recount data, hence the question.

My spec is a fairly standard 0/17/54.

Don't ask me to drop Corpse Explosion instead, I love that; but which talent gives less DPS per talent point, Necrosis or BCB?
Also you should really switch out your disease glyph for the glyph of dark death

Also hope your the only Death knight in your raiding guild, otherwise you need to get HoW glyph :P

Does it still say "There's a more powerful spell active"? I've had glyph of HoW for as long as i remember.

Wait, are you saying that +2% Str gain -- which in my case it 40-50 Str -- is less valuable that the +12crit/+12hit I can get by picking up a single point in IUP, and then swapping the boots enchant from Tusk to Icewalker?

That doesn't sound right.

Anyway, I can still move a point from either BCB or Necrosis into IUP, which in turn will let me have Icewalker enchant. Are you saying that either a point in Necrosis, or in BCB, will be stronger than Icewalker?

Reaping is only a DPS increase when using 17/0/54 spec, since you can take the points out of Dark Conviction.
OK, that makes sense. No Reaping then.

So all in all, stick with what you've got.
Thanks for your help.

I'd rather not. I love the convenience it affords me, and the fact that it's a twofer -- it's useful in single-target (not too much of a DPS loss against Dark Death, as I get to do an extra SS by refreshing diseases with Pestilence) and absolutely sweet in AoE, including on boss fights with random adds.

Not having the luxury of maintaining two DPS specs, I prefer to spec/glyph for both, trying to maintain a hybrid build.

Heroic Sind is the only fight where I swap out Chimera for KS glyphs, because yeah, a large portion of the fight occurs in the sub-20% range. Somehow she seems to know that I've re-glyphed specifically for her though, because the past several weeks she's chosen me to spend lots and lots of time inside ice tombs during that last phase, but assuming your RNG luck is better than mine KS theoretically should be the better choice.

At what point to gem Armor Pen?

I will start by saying i do NOT have access to a spreadsheet for the time being, and would like to ask for help here as i have searched and found nothing answering this particular question.

On my rogue i have been gemming armor pen exclusively up to the point where i am at 67%. I feel like i should be doing a bit more damage than i am currently (10k DPS usually on standstill fights), and i am worried its due to the fact that i should have waited to gem for armor pen. Is there a certain passive amount of armor pen with gear (say 800) that i should go for before actually gemming armor pen exclusively. If so, would you recommend gemming AP? Haste? Agi? or what until i reach said point.

Thanks in advance,
Berginyon

Okay! The the general consensus is that you should gem for ArP if you're in 277 BiS gear. I'm still interested in seeing whether or not I should start gemming ArP based on my current gear set? I have all the gems ready, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. I did a search to see if there was a thread, but I couldn't find one. I'm trying to run Kahories on it, but it doesn't seem to like me for some reason. A straight answer would help.

Its common knowledge that you want to fit as many lightning bolts as you can between lava burst casts for the elemental rotation. I've read in multiple places that using CL as a filler once per rotation is acceptable to smooth the rotation out.

However, given that LB has a higher coefficient than CL does, does the decreased cast time of CL make up for the lack of damage output compared with LB? Would this answer be different depending on your spellpower? In other words, is using CL for rotation smoothing really a better choice than clipping the LvB CD in order to cast another LB?

Sim it, I've found sub Frost to be generally superior.

The reason Blood sub falls behind is because BA is a nice bonus but at higher gear levels it doesn't scale upwards much because armor doesn't.

Expertise glyph bug

Hi guys,

Not sure this has been reported before but I noticed a weird bug with the Seal of Vengence glyph for the first time this week.

Basically, the expertise bonus is applied when you cast the seal. It stays active until you change seal.
More bizarrely, it stays active if you change specs.
This leads to the weird situation where you can in fact benefit from the effects of a fourth major glyph if you use that glyph in your second spec (my case as a tank).

I'm kind of a new player and I don't know if this constitutes an exploit or should be reported as a bug to Blizzard.
Had you guys noticed this? Should I report the bug or profit until it's fixed?

PS - Edit for spelling mistakes

It is known bug. It is tough to fix it, since Seals are not magic buffs that can be easily removed on a respec. Enjoy the bug, the Exo glyph is a 50 dps or so gain.

I am a little perplexed at the supposed "new fun talents" (to quote GC) we are supposed to be getting...all I see is is some trimming of passives and still some "wadding" to gobble up talent points to pad out levels. I don't see any new talents which could be considered "fun" especially if you are intent on maxing dps.

EDIT: this comment is mainly focused on UH.
