would'nt it be just fixed by making obliterate a frost rune only?

with festering strike, ps and it woulde be obsolete... just for applying diseases at first but wait - outbreak....
why not just use outbreak - festering strike - scourgestrike ...

Spamming FoL on 11/12 in ICC it likely won't have that big of an impact due to the state of how easy 11/12 are with the zone buff. However when it comes to H LK where it counts you obviously cannot rely on FoL to keep tanks alive. H Halion would be a painful encounter as well trying to keep dragon tanks alive through corporeality fluctuations and add tanks when they spawn.

The good thing about the spec is mana should never, ever be an issue unless you start to spam HL heavily. Overall I would never recommend it for a serious spec.
I cannot say from an Heroic LK Stance, But I currently prefer this spec. above the HL spec only because it is more mobile than having to spam HL constantly.
I am able to fluidly move around, cast, step, cast, step and keep my tank(s) alive during high movement fights like Shadow Dimention Halion with HS's and FoL(some infusion of light, others just timing) since the other healer wasn't doing so hot there (Shammi). It is a very ajustable spec as well when dealing with burst damage as long as you know when intense damage will occur to your tank(s) as you can spam HL's when needed for about 10 burst before hitting around 60% mana, then you can build back up to 90% either over time or with a Divine plea as my Mana Reg. = the cast amount of a FoL or 310mp5 incombat. Mana for this spec is only something you lightly balance with the power it has, more work is needed for this spec as you should use CD, but I think its worth the work.
Also the 4 set bonus is most Ideal for the spec, as of course you cannot always resort to one mediocre heal, and the .8 seconds less casting time for you HL works almost exactly like Lights Grace for you as you should already HS the tank when a large spike of damage hits him. Not to mention the Mp5 and Crit from the gear that is useful for itemization.

i dont doubt that it's correct just want to know why

i've been pretty faithuflly using RAWR for a while now on all of my toons. But my ret pally is my favorite and it's now giving me some "interesting" suggestions when i 'optimize'. I have the low level Conquest Turalyon's and Violet Legplates of the champion. I also have 3 other t9 items equipped but it still seems to think that the non-tier legs are the best option. Also i've got Pendant of the Outcast Hero as well as the Spiked Battleguard Choker and it also seems to think that the lower item is the better selection. This is unless i allow it to optimize my talents as well, in which case it comes up with a really wild talent spec, with a bunch of stuff in the holy tree and totally skips Divine Storm. I can give more details if need be but i'm just curious if this makes any sense to anyone. I'm sure that based on their algorithm it's correct but i just want to know why.

thanks in advance.

Is there some reason why there wasn't as much hit in the T9 gear as it was in previous sets? I just got all T9 (sans my Merlin's Robe) and my spell hit sucks. It was never this low, even with Naxx and Ulduar gear.

I'm just curious why hit didn't seem as important with T9.

Hi, i wanna to ask u on your opinion about using
Charred Twilight Scale + [Dislodged Foreign Object] + [Totem of Hex]
instead of
Charred Twilight Scale + [Phylactery of the Nameless Lich] + [Bizuri's Totem of Shattered Ice]

Thx for answer.

If you take into account that Earthquake can only be channeled for 10seconds, while it has a 15second cooldown, we'll have a 5second window to fill with other spells.
Does this mean we'll still be using Magma Totem and Fire Nova? Or is there still something to come that will encourage us into Chain Lightnings and (FS) Lava Bursts? The final option is that a glyph will be realsed to remove the CD (and quite possibly knockdown) of Earthquake.

I'm worried that we'll still be expected to be using Magma Totem. As this would mean that in alot of cases the 35yd range on Earthquake would be pointless. Since we'll need to go drop Magma totem (+ Fire nova) before casting our Earthquake.

Edit: Personally I feel that Blizzard has chosen a very wierd moment to add Earthquake. The community has nagged about it since Vanilla and at the point where we least need it (thanks to the changes to Magma Totem and Fire Nova) its suddenly thrown in our lap. I would've been much happier with a new spell being added to our rotation (or new spell to be used while moving).
With what information we do have on Earthquake, personally I don't really ever see me taking it. It's too expensive (from both a talent point and DPC standpoint) in my opinion. I have just come to terms with that fact that we'll never be very good at AoE damage, and I can live with that.

With the changes to alot of the talents that reduced our ability cd's it leaves our dps rotation lacking any real single target attacks outside of CS/TV if AoW is down. Let's face the facts, if the design goal is to not use aoe in single target situations then who wants to fill gaps with Cons or DS. I realize the goal is to not be gcd locked, but as many have said unless our resource pool is in jeapordy this will always be an issue for Ret's.

At the moment we have 1 finisher for single target, 1 for aoe, and 1 useable in both situations. Those being TV, Divine storm, and inquisition respectively. With the length of the cd on inquisition for ret it leaves us with TV as our only single target finisher. The other classes who use a combo pt system (rogue/druid) have many more finishers, with cd's towards aoe. Rogue's refresh SnD as a finisher buff with no cd, this leaves room for error. Did you refresh right before it went down? Or too early when you could evicserate? Or at lower combo pts? If inquisition had no cd then it would offer that same dynamic. It would probably need its % adjusted, or be talented in ret for the reduced cd so as to not overpower the prot threat/mitigation mechanics. With that said Ret still needs at least one more finisher, say a dot we put up (think RV but increases with HP) as an example.

As for zealotry i agree it feels a little bland outside of a great burst cd, it leaves no room for bonus HP procs to be used. If it shared a cd with AW then it would allow the talented HoW use while active to be utilized instead of ignored just because we want to stack all of our cd's.

*edit - grammar/spelling*

Inquisition doesn't have a cooldown. It mimics SnD and Savage Roar entirely and leads to the same decision making of whether to refresh or push until the next cycle.

Looking on mmo-champion and wowhead, I'm not seeing any cooldown on Inquisition. So unless they're both wrong, or out of sync with beta, that doesn't seem to be an issue. The problem of prot using it for threat seems to be the motivating factor behind making it mutually exclusive with Holy Shield.

I'm not sure we really need another finisher to juggle - between managing Holy Power charges, keeping Inq up, and watching judgement/exo/holy wrath cooldowns (and AoW procs) we seem to have enough going on already (although I'm not in beta, so haven't had a chance to test it directly).

I didn't realize there was no cd so my point on inq is moot. I am also not in beta. The problem is with the lengthy cd's, judge 10s, HW 15s, and Exo 10s (any beta testers able to give us an approx. uptime on AoW?) that leave the rotation feeling open and more FCFS.

*NEW* We are in the process of overhauling many paladin talents, spells and abilities. Expect updates in upcoming patches.

Expect a new build by tues, and alot more changes.

Shadow Trance Proc's during Execution

1.
I was wondering if anyone has done any simcraft or extended testing on using Shadow Trance procs during Execution (<25%)

Raid wise, this keeps the 5% crit buff up when otherwise you wouldn't and other classes may be depending on you to keep it up (Fire mages in terms of improved scorch)

Was also wondering if there would be a significant dps loss or maybe even a dps gain. I use quartz to time my soul drain clips and the shadow trance also provides a global for movement.

2.
Has anyone done any tests on the use of NMIC vs. BIS trinkets on pure tank and spank fights? In terms of festergut when I can get tricks and NMIC off on the first corrupt and roll it the entire fight, would it be better to use H DFO + NMIC or continue using my Charred Twilight Scale + H DFO?

So I just picked up the rhino and was thrilled to see that a pet actually has an aoe attack. Are there any pets other than the rhino that has splash damage? Obviously the ones with breath attacks would, but I'm hoping that there are others with actual area attacks.
