desto warlock an i doing something wrong

HI my first time posting here but have been reading for a few months now. i currently play a destro lack 0-17-54 imy rotation is COD, IMM, CB, CON, INC spam and then refresh. My problem is that i was in a icc raid the other day and there was another warlock with a 5400gs abd mine is 5800 he was affliction and h was doing more dmg then me on most if not all boss encounters it wasnt jst thes single time that madde me thin i was doing somethig wrong ther have been other instances were i felt i wasnt measuring up to ppl of my same gear level. the most ive ever did i icc is 10k (not often usually around 8) i have seen numerous occasions were ppl with my gs were doing alot more damage. Could someone take a look and tell me if iam gemmed correctly or if they see something iam doing wrong.maybe its jsut in my head but its really bothering me that a 400gs less lock could do more damge then me. iVe tried to go affilction myelf with no luck i do even less damage. My character name is Divinci and i play on thichondrius us. thanks i would really appreciate n e tips or pointers.

looks like their solution to the lacerate/pulverize issue is too make the initial dmg of lacerate much higher and the tick much smaller so that spamming lacerate so much doesn't hurt threat. need to run numbers to see if that helps the situation.

so where does this leave people on talent choices at 85, this latest build reduces the talents in the enhancement tree by 3, but i wasn't picking up primal wisdom anyways. not having access the the beta my best guess is that improved shields is going to be the talent that people skip over and that ancestral swiftness will be taken by all everyone because it is better than the 8% speed enchant and will free up that slot for a straight up stat enchant. also reverberation now seems like a super obvious choice. elemental precision seems bad even for enhancers who are very lacking on the hit rating because its spirit based. oh i guess i should note that i'm really only talking about the PvE perspective.

anyways here's what i'm thinking will be standard as of this build, but like i said this is 100% guesswork using my knowledge of how the game works now.

one last note, with the changes to fire nova there may be a desire to duel spec for AE and for single target dps fights, where you drop imp FN for imp shields if the fight lacks the need for AE. i also have no idea how mana is going to come into the equation, with p wis going passive maybe its unnecessary to worry about that at all, all i know is that its going to be less fun that hitting shm rage and watching the blue fill all the way up.


side not question: there hasn't been any detailed discussion of theorized priority lists yet has there? i did a search and didn't see anything come up.

last min edit: also wtf is totemic reach still doing in our talent tree, please make that shit passive already.

Recently added to MMO-champion.


Discipline

* Focused Will no longer procs from critical hits and no longer healing effects on you - Whenever you are victim of an attack equal to damage greater than 10% of your total health, you gain Focused Will reducing all damage taken by 4/6% lasting for 8 sec. Stacks up to 2 times.
* Grace now stacks up to 3 times, up from 2 times.
* Atonement now heals for 40/80/120% of the damage dealt. (Up from 15/30/45%)
* Archangel (Evangelism) Lasts for 18 sec and has a 15 sec cooldown. (Tooltip clarification)
* Archangel (Dark Evangelism) now restores 5% of your total mana (Up from 3%) and increases damage done by your your Mind Flay, Mind Spike, Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death 4% (Old - all shadow and frost damage by 3%). Lasts for 18 sec. 90 sec cooldown.
* Inner Sanctum now reduces spell damage taken by 2/4/6%, down from 5/10/15%.


Holy

* Leap of Faith now costs 13% of base mana, down from 32%. Now has a 40 yards range, up from 30 yards.
* Holy Nova now affects friendly targets (Old - all party and raid members). Base healing increased by 33% but the healing is now divided among the number of targets healed.
* Heal base healing value reduced by 25%.
* Holy Focus (Passive) *New* - Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting any Holy or Discipline spell by 70%.
* Revelations (Holy Word: Aspire (Renew)) base healing value reduced by 5%.
* Blessed Resilience revamped - Whenever you are victim of an attack equal to damage greater than 10% of your total health, you gain Blessed Resilience increasing all healing received by 5/10% lasting for 10 sec.
* Twirling Light is now a Rank 3 talent, down from Rank 4 and is now named Surge of Light and revamped - You have a 3/6% chance when you Smite or Heal to cause your next Flash Heal to be instant cast and cost no mana but incapable of a critical hit.
* Lightwell now restores {((2878.1+(SpellPower*.308))*3)*1.25} health over 6 sec.
* Improved Healing is gone.
* Trinity (Tier 2) *New* - When you Smite three times in a row, your spell haste will be increased by 5/10% for 12 sec.


Shadow

* Pain and Suffering now reduces the damage from Shadow Word: Death by 20/40%, up from 10/20%.
* Vampiric Touch mana regeneration now lasts 10 sec, up from 5 sec.

return to lock raiding.

Ive recently returned to lock raiding after goin rogue for the beginning of wrath. A lot has changed.
My issue is...i dont know what exactly is the best spec or gem/gear choices for what im doin in icc25.

I cant seem to find what im looking for anywhere. My dps is lower than what i feel it should be, and its not steady dps, it varies significantly. im pulling 8.5k-10.3k roughly fully raid buffed. Im not sure if the reason im not performing better in raids is lock class/ my gems/ or being outgeared in the guild i am, or something im not catching

If someone could take a look at my armory and help me out id be greatly appreciative.

Can someone on PTR or Beta tell me is (bestial discpline + GftT + sic 'em) are mandatory package (for all specs) for pets to have enough focus to use their attacks ? because I'm messing around with possible specs and I don't know if I must take them all or part of them is enough!!

Trauma and Val' anyr proc value

I have done a search, and this 63 page thread shows up, but I can't seem to find any theorycrafting on the proc value for these two weapons. The resto shaman thinktank article values these two weapons as BiS for Heroic Trauma and 2nd for Val'anyr.

However the base HEP value from heroic trauma alone falls well below many other ICC weapons for resto shaman.

I know the proc value will vary based on encounter and 10 vs. 25 man, however I am assuming that someone on here as done some calculations for its value. It would benefit me if I could find these calculations so I can better compare the weapons (ie the Tier 10 bonus of Chained Heal is 100 hep in 10 man vs 500 in 25 man) I know these are approximations, however they are of value when determining what gear to wear.

Do any of you know where I can find this?

So the BM talents were a step backwards. Fortunately, Whitefyst took a look at my spec and gave me some pointers that have improved it beyond where I started. Mostly improving my pet spec.

Still working through the various options for gear \ rings \ trinkets.

I have just begun playing a DK in an ICC group which we are trying to restrict to ten man content (and gear only) and am having trouble finding discussion on it. Has anyone here had much experience in this format, is it viable to DW frost with 10 only gear and still hit an arp cap.

Also is there a point that you change from gemming str to arp as the simulators keep telling me that I should gem str still.

I arena prot and do extremely well. disc priest, ret arm warlock. I charge a shammy and remove his fear totem and fear all. or shock wave and have my arms bs as i keep one cloth tied down. i can cc and sw in arms stance so i wait for the pally to bubble or if an enemy is going ot get bubbled then i shattering throw then go d stance. if there is no pally in the gorup then i dont use arms stance.. the pally and shield bash, devestate constantly to get shield slam when they are stunned i back up to get in distance to intercept or charge. and keep that paly down so there is one less.
now i start of normally going after trees to prevent healing cause multiple healers on a team is hard. well one healer cant keep up the other team when all our dps is on him. charge, cc, sw, bac up for intercept and usually takes the healer out of the game for 12 seconds. more than enough time for a person to go down. now when they are down a person i change and go after caster dps. war and mag are easy. charge, spell reflect, shield slam, devestate shield bash shockwave cc or shield slam again cause the devestate resets ss cd. well interchanging all those constantly will keep you frozen to the ground but cant blink or fear to get out of the way. and then my other teammates go after another dps... so yeah i hope this helps some cause i do realy wel in arena and sometimes am the reason we win

Currently on the PTR, is BM the highest dps spec? And if so, with what pet. I know that I could probably find this somewhere, but I can't seem to find a place with all the info. Sorry but if someone could direct me to a link I would be very thankful.

IMHO is maximum theoretical DPS no longer important in Cataclysm-Raids than it is now in WOTLK.
In my experiance of the beta I use all kind of control: knock, kick, sap, gouge etc
I do damage too, but control and survival are much more important than getting the Damage from 10k to 10,1k

The so called "filler" Talents are the keys to an easy Raid evening.
I think the Rogue will be one of the main mob-distractors especially with the gouge glyph.

While leveling disabling the mobs leads to constant easy fight.
In 5 man dungeons is much use for control and disrupt.

I think Raids will be the same style and will be much more fun than the Saurfang kick-ass encounter.
