I'm testing my enh shaman on PTR 4.0.1 because I don't have beta, pvp is quite fun now (kinda oldschool like).

I suddenly tried to use a caster weapon in main hand (royal scepter of teranes II, that add about 1k sp) on 83 dummie seeing the behaviour of lava lash with it's 20 % bonus dmg glyph. So I have put dual flametongue on weapons and with a flametongue totem dropped I see Lava Lash crits at about 15k dmg (with about 7k5 ap and 5k8 sp) and other magic spells does great dmg too. That looks so weird I went here to ask if Enhsim can handle with this at lvl 80?? Looking at my recount it looks like I'm dspsing easier with that then with my necrotic touch with wf… but I can be wrong, can I use 2.0.5 alpha to sim. this for a lvl80 or is it only for 85?

If some others can try this, thanks in advance, I'm going to bed, too much testing this night

I've been wondering about the 30/40+1 build, is it at all as good as a pure chaos bolt spec? Can it be as good dps or is it a dps loss to miss out on chaos bolt?

Thank you for replying. I was pretty sure that was the case. It seemed that either 2/3/38 or 0/3/38 (or in your case 1/3/37) was going to be the fairly standard build to start off with.

I'm not sure how good haste is now, because it can give you additional ticks of evocation, this will improve the stat for arcane a little bit.
Hit (before cap) > Int > Spellpower > Mastery
I think this are the best stats. Than Haste and Crit, but I don't know which will be better, I think this needs some tests.

Hm, you should consider using Pulverzie every 3 Lacerates - especially with vengeance up it hits really hard (at least much harder than trash/swipe even considering the threat generation with a 50% bonus) and should generate mor threat then trash or swipe (at least thats what my short Omen tests say to me). As arule of thumb: every battle wich takes longer than 1 minute of getting hit almost double your damage. 22k Manglecrits are ... interessting on boss battles.

I've recently hit 80 and I'm compiling a list of heroic gear with stats breakdown. I've attempted to convert rating (crit/parry/dodge) points into its percentage bonus. This is what I've managed so far:

5 Defensive Rating = 1 Defense as well as .20% Dodge, Parry and Block.

I have also concluded that 10 rating points of either Dodge, Parry, Block or Expertise is equal to .25% bonus.

Are my calculations are accurate?

If MMO Champion is to be believed, 4.0 may drop sometime in early October, which would give us a month and a half with the new changes before Cataclysm's release (again, assuming you believe his release estimates). I realize a lot of folks are on raiding hiatus prior to the expansion, but has there been any discussion over the relative weightings of haste vs. crit in the post-4.0/pre-Cata raiding world? And how do those compare to straight Intellect/spellpower?
