I just won Heroic Bryntroll last week, however with the new patch coming does this mean I will be better off going back to shadows edge? I'm not going to be able to get shadowmourne and we have stopped 25mans so I wont be able to get heroic cryptmaker either.

I know currently that sims are using Suc as the pet for affliction, but I'm wondering if the new skill Demon Soul has been implemented (didn't see it).

Not sure if 20% increased periodic shadow damage with a 16.67% uptime would matter (20sec buff, 2 min cd), but it seems that this buff (from fusing with the felpup) is much better than the buff from the succubus (10% increased SB damage), moreso if you are mastery/DL based.

Demon Soul is a level 85 spell. This is only level 80 specs.

Seems to be a dot that combines all the damage into a new that you essicially apply then modify it again with certain things like haste.

Edit: yes missing the T10 2 set bonus.
Which mod is that that displays your min/max damage in the tooltip?

I'd be more apathetic if I wasn't so lethargic.

I found a post from GC saying that the UA soul burn effect most likely be implemented.

If I'm not mistaken that was before they actually announced UA would have the soulburn effect.

Yes, it is 10 seconds per 5 point finisher excluding SnD. That was my mistake. It was an actual educated guess on my part originally because i didnt keep an eye on the CD after i popped the finisher. But yes, you are correct.

Alright so Im going to be testing these dummies for 3 minutes each with the following Prime glyphs: Killing spree, Sinister Strike, Eviscerate, Rupture, and Revealing Strike.

Major glyphs are staying the same and they are Cloak of Shadows, Blade Flurry, and Sprint.

Minor glyphs are Glyph of Poisons, Lock pick and blurred speed.

DPS for Killing spree, SS, and Eviscerate glyphs is 6457

DPS for Killing Spree, SS, and Rupture glyphs is 6353

DPS for Killing Spree, SS, and Revealing Strike is 6342

DPS for SS, Rupture, and SnD is anywhere between 5700 and 6100. Tried this a few times.

This is done with reforged armor, poison hit cap, and exp cap and with berserking on both my MH and OH weapsons.

Just wanna say I've been a big time follower of EJ for years and have followed Aldri for a long time now as an uber apprentice rogue. Quick question though, I notice you say gem for socket bonus but when I do the math won't straight gemming straight agi come out ahead for assassination?

Based on the EP values on the front page, no. Let's look at a few combinations for example (these are assuming white hit EP since you should hit your spell hit reforging):

Blue socket + 4 agility socket bonus (Sindy neck):
With socket bonus = 10 agility + 10 hit + 4 agility = 28 + 17 + 11.2 = 56.2
Without socket bonus = 20 agility = 56

This is a close one, but the weakest color with the weakest bonus, and for assassination it's still better to gem for the socket bonus (assuming the EP values given).

I made a post a few pages back with all the combinations where it was best to socket for the bonus, but even when it isn't (the same situation for a combat rogue, for example), it's a really close call and what I would call within the margin of error for the EP values.

It's probably a safe bet to gem for the socket bonuses.

Two more quick questions, for level 80 aff will Chaotic still be the best gem or that other one with int and mana.

Aswell as for stat priority for 80 aff as the DL build its Int>Mastery>Haste>Crit correct?

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I am curious if you also have tested out assassination and sub specs?
Unbuffed, right now on live, I am about 6400dps as combat on the boss target dummy - so those numbers of yours are rather disheartening. If you have infact tested Sub/Assassin - how do they stack against each other?

In regards to trinkets... How critical is it to reach the 3sec CS cooldown? Currently I'm using 277 TaJ and a 245 DV, but would it be worth it to swap the DV for a Herkuml's if I could get a 3sec CS?

There are currently no expertise talents as frost that we can pick up, the only expertise that is available talent wise is veteran of the 3rd war (part of a mastery technically), which we cannot pick up as frost dps
