It's worth noting that hit increases your poison damage as well. So yeah, each 46 points of mastery increases your poison damage by 2%; however, each 31 points of hit increases your poison damage by about 1%, and all your white damage by a similar amount; assuming white damage accounts for (say) 20% of your damage and poisons for 50, the comparison is then:
46 points of mastery = 2% * 50% = 1% damage increase.
46 points of hit = 1.5% * 70% = 1.05% damage increase.
So: very very close. Hit perhaps slightly better. Also known as: roughly whats in the first post of this thread.
You are my Hero!
Just wanted to hear this because I noticed how I could switch all my reforged crit into mastery or go with hit and be 20 hit away from White Cap. ( For the gear that already has haste and wont allow me to reforge Haste that is. )
Which MetaGem should we use when lvl80?
Is the chaotic worth gemming with blue gems?
Both Relentless and Chaotic are still the same as they were before in value.
The only change is that since +hit gems are blue now (and +hit combo gems are purple), if you use any of those in your gear you can safely "upgrade" to a Chaotic meta and gain a little bit of extra melee crit and some extra spell crit.
With the 4.0 patch going live today, I would like to know what numbers to aim for regarding stats on my holy paladin.
Does anyone have any reference lvl 80 numbers for intel, spirit, haste, crit, mastery?
4.0 taking its toll on screwing with my gear, does anyone have any idea how much crit and haste can be sacrificed for mastery before it starts to hurt dps overall? I am looking to make max numbers for raid, and does hittting that hard cap for hit now important or does the fact we hit from behind almost 100% of the time still make a difference in damage overall when under hit cap
While supplies last (order now!). No guarantees implied. Your mileage may vary (or kilometerage). Not available in certain states (of mind). For indoor or outdoor use only. Not for use by small children (that's why we have ovens and barbecue sauce).
You left off: May cause incontinence and/or temporary blindness while driving.
Fantastic info! Thank you for the time you devoted to putting this all together!
I did everything that was posted above except for the Gemming. I gemmed for Exp and Hit cap and reforge all of my gear for the highest possible Mastery. Got to a rating of 21.05 (599). Ran EnhSim Alpha, see the first set of results below.
I then regemmed everything for AGI. Reforged for EXP/Hit Cap first then reforge for Mastery. Got to a rating of 16.09(409). Ran EnhSim Alpha, see the second set of results below.
Note** I am having trouble exporting my character with ShockandAwe to be imported into EnhSim Alpha, so I had to do it manually. Not sure if I imported the information correctly (I think I did). I only reforge Crit and Haste. Which ever stat had the highest rating was the stat that I reforge. I ran the sim with out any trinkets, special weapons, weapon enchants or tier pieces.
Not sure if this testing means anything, but here you go regardless.
Sadly I cannot give extreme good values since I stopped raiding 25 man, however I raided icc 10h tonight with random and 2 friends of mine which were there with their twinks too. So while I had the impression my overall DPS increased slightly in short 10 man fights (exg. ~15.5k dps @ Saurfang, I think it was about 14 before) I also experienced that for example my guildie did nearly as much damage as me with his twink shadow priest which is mostly in 264 gear and which I outdpsed by far in the past.
Furthermore you could look up worldoflogs. Deus Vox and others already cleared Icc and compare the logs from 4.0.1 to the ones before.
Regarding the shadow priests, see the following from MMO blue tracker:

1) We think Fury, Arms, Feral cat and Retribution dps is too low and we will be buffing them.
2) We think mage dps is too high, especially Fire, and will be nerfing it.
3) We think Shadow priest dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Shadow Word: Death spam, which is tough on healers. We'll be fixing that.
4) We think Destro warlock dps is too high, but that's largely a result of Searing Pain spam, which is tough on tanks. We'll be fixing that.
5) As we suspected, PvP dps is just too high given that the health pools of Cataclysm haven't kicked in yet. While competitive PvP is over for the moment, we still want the environment to feel better so we will be buffing resilience. This change might be reverted at level 85.
There will probably be more changes after another night of raiding and BGs. Many of the bug fixes we have made today will affect dps as well. Stay tuned.
So if we keep our desieses up how will we do so? What would be more benificial poping out IT and PS or just FS, it saves a global, and also Glyph of Disease? what would be better for us to use for refreshing our diseases
