Do you even know what FS does? Festering Strike - Spell - World of Warcraft thats 6 more seconds of your disease and snare. Seems to be more like a PvP ability but I might be wrong and correct me. Using it because it saves a global doesn't make sense when you are going to have to apply disease after those added 6 seconds are done. Glyph of Disease doesn't even exist anymore...Just because you tanked heroic 5man whatever doesn't mean your and endgame tank so plz think about what your asking(This is not only for you but for people who post here that don't even Tank Hardmodes). We want this thread to get used for important information regarding the Endgame.

*Just noticed your Shadowmourne. FML.

Rogue Combat Spec

Seeing how no one really has a clue as to the best spec to use DPS wise for rogues, I decided to go ahead and share my new rogue build, plus point out a couple observations for my Combat build which you can look at here:

Combat mechanic observations:

1. Energy regeneration is much faster than before so it makes stacking haste trivial. Around 25% is plenty, give or take a couple % points. Otherwise, stack agility gems.

2. One extra button to use: Revealing Strike. It has an effect lasting 15 seconds. So you don't want to cast this one over and over again, just at the end of the rotation, (or start depending on how long it takes to get through a single rotation). Interesting to note: There is a glyph that empowers the effect granted from this by 10%. Doing some quick math, it looks like it would be more powerful than Prime Glyph Eviscerate but not as powerful as the other two I use. I will experiment and see if it is indeed better.

3. The old rotation seems to work best with Revealing Strike thrown in: 5 combo points, being that a combination of 2-4 SS, then SnD, then 5 combo points being a combination of 2-4SS + 1 RS, then Eviscerate. In a 25 man raid, I hold around 8k - 10k damage and that's on boss fights. With my gear score around 3k, according to wow-heroes.com.

Other thoughts: It's a vicious click cycle. You have to keep yourself aware of your little buffs going off at the same time, keep aware of RS, and any trinkets you might want to pop. Your eyes will be jumping all over the screen! Since Eviscerate or Envenom take 2 seconds off adrenaline rush cool down with the new "Bandit's Guile" talent, which doesn't take very long at all to make another adrenaline rush ready just as soon as your last one finishes, it feels like a lot to do in very little time.

Prime glyphs: Sinister Strike, Adrenaline Rush, Eviscerate (instead of this one, try Revealing Strike)
Major glyphs: Blade Flurry, Cloak of Shadows, Fan of Knives
Minor glyphs: Safe fall, Improved Sprint, Glyph of Poisons

Everything I've read thus far tells me that the hard hit cap should be reached with maintaining crit above 33%. My question is if I'm heading in the right direction or not. Should I gem the last 4% hit to cap? I know I need to replace my belt and wrists since they are leather, and I have enough points now for the belt and will be getting the crafted bracers. I just can't believe how badly my dps has been effected by this new patch.
My sentiments exactly. I'm sitting at 27.19% hit, 41% crit and expertise capped with 15% haste, and I was just barely ahead of our prot warrior in tonight's raid. Whatever they do to buff our dps better be something worthwhile because if all they do is change rage generation I'll probably play one of my other characters for the time being.

Are you leaving rupture out of your cycle? Curious as to if you are suggesting a full eviscerate cycle is better than a rupture one, and why.

so this might be completely off the wall, but has anyone thought about prot dps? im seeing tank keep up with current fury warriors because of vengeance. Now if you wear all dps gear plus a shield and a slow weapon combined with vigilance on the tank which will give you vengeance which would be up to 6k ap raid buffed with icc buff. Would be interesting to try out.

Fallen Leaves: Simple. I never used rupture in my rotation, ever. Since a lot of Combat Rogue dps comes from burst damage, rupture is left out so that I can focus on burst type attacks. Like SS, RS, Evis. Although I will occassionally throw in a garrote to start my rotation on the right foot.

I am actually doing that on HLK right now (only because we somehow don't have the stuns) and it's much more enjoyable (i can press keys!!) and it's really not that much worse. If I wasnt reforged entirely for fury with 740 hit it might actually beat it.

nm: It's bad.

I have a few questions. I looked thru every post and never saw a full answer.

1. With the stats changes of Cryptmaker losing strength and losing Black Ice for the Bryntroll. Which is overall the better weapon? I saw the post below and was thinking, the EP is only 1053 and the proc from the Bryn still hits for 3k+ so idk what that EP would be added for the Bryn.
As to heroic Bryntroll vs heroic Cryptmaker after 4.0.1 comes. Using Consider EP numbers:

Bryntroll
886 - 1330 Damage Speed 3.40
185 str x 3.91 = 723.5

Cryptmaker after reforging hit to haste
938 - 1408 Damage Speed 3.60
159 str x 3.91 = 621.69
115 crit x 2.52 = 289.8
39 haste x 3.64 = 141.96
60 hit x 3.63 = 217.8
---------
1271,25
(1053,45 without hit)

I don't know how much DPS the proc is worth, but doubt it's better than all the passive stats on Cryptmaker, esp. that it's a slower weapon.
2. Instead of gemming your pants for socket bonus, wouldn't it be better to gem ur pants pure strength and then just gem your relic/sigil with the 10str 10hit gem due to it not having a socket bonus?

3. With FeS refreshing diseases by 6 seconds per hit and they already start at 30, Will we ever have to refresh diseases? I was working on a test dummy earlier and noticed the only time was when I wasn't paying attention.

First thing you should know is that you'll probably want to reforge as much of your crit to hit/mastery as you can, keep in mind you'll need 2 blue gems (hit) for the meta gem, so first fill your blue sockets with hit+int, then reforge crit to hit until the hit cap- and once hit capped reforge the rest of your crit to haste (if you can't reforge to haste, reforge to mastery).

There is a viable drain life and shadow bolt spec, however the drain life spec is effectively worse in all scenarios and will put you through a lot more trouble when it comes to shadow embrace. If you love the play style, go for it- but it's recommended you use shadow bolt instead of drain life.

Stat priority:
Shadow Bolt Focus: Hit (until 17%) > Int >> Haste > Spellpower >> Mastery >> Crit
Drain Life Focus: Hit (until 17%) > Int > Mastery > Haste > Spellpower >>> Crit

Talent spec: WoW Talent Calculator - Sigrie
Prime Glyphs: Haunt, Lash of Pain, Bane of Agony
Major Glyphs: Life Tap, Soul Swap, Shadow Bolt
Notes:

* Use the succubus.
* At high haste levels (1400+) you can replace glyph of Life Tap
* If you use drain life as filler instead of shadowbolt, you can replace glyph of lifetap.
* Optional talents are optional, feel free to rearrange those as it pleases you.
* If you use a drain life heavy rotation, mastery increases in value.

Spell priority:

* Corruption
* Haunt
* Unstable Affliction
* Bane of Agony
* Shadow Embrace (IE: Shadow bolt if its not at 3 stacks)
* Drain Soul (Target HP less than 25%)
* Shadow Bolt or Drain Life

Ok i agree with you on most of this BUT I still think the DL spec is doing more dps than the SB rotation.

I would argue that the point priority for MM at 80 is: hit > crit > mastery > haste

I have done some initial theory crafting that indicates that crit is definitely better than mastery - but I'd like to see takes from others before posting my calculations. Also - I also found that if you are somehow focus starved then haste is marginally > mastery.

As a healer I already have almost only Haste + Crit on my gear. The very few with Spirit (Totem, T10 Legs, Rep Ring from Ashen Verdict) I reforged into Mastery as usually I have Haste + Spirit, so I can't reforge to Haste.

I will raid on Thursday as well, but I hardly had any problems with mana reg so far. On the other side you can spam Healing wave which costs like 400 Mana. Healing output is suboptimal, but you can spam through like a heal paladin did with HL.

I will do some more testing when Grid finally updates.

Edit: Fixed some spelling
