Any other mages try out the new raid content tonight? I was doing decent DPS, but I seemed to be burning through my mana like candy causing my dps to drop a lot. I'm contemplating mage armor for the next test.

Thrash
Thrash is a level 81 spell, and this thread is for WOTLK.
May I suggest this thread for it?

New 80 fury warrior desperately needs help
I need a lot of help. I don't know anything and have a ton of questions. As a dps warrior with the new system, what gems should I stock up on, what should my hit chance be (currently, it's 285), haste, critical strike and what is mastery? I'm currently 5/5 for mastery? If you are online, please put myken down as friend--I need help.

Also in general is Black Magic a better enchant for destro dps now?

I think Black Magic's average Haste is 67, making it a dps increase over 63 spell power in cases where you can freecast through the whole duration of the proc. You'd have to plan around it and use an addon to help predict when its internal cooldown will expire, however.
For 3.3.x, it was arguable which was better on a 1h weapon, with most (including myself) favoring the reliability of 63 SP, but now it's not quite the same.

As a ret pally I'm at 20% haste unbuffed now. I'm hit and exp caped. Should I continue to reforge for haste, or should I leave my crit which is at 26% right now alone?
And I have the 264 version of Bryntol. Would it be better to use a resil weapon, for pve, for the green stats?

So from my understanding with current BIS gear you want to hit 1406 Haste Unbuffed anything over that is a dps loss that would be better spent as mastery.
With this setup, I'm at 18.12 mastery, 27.24% crit, 17% Hit, and 3583 Spell Damage.

Using the method I described earlier I managed to reforge and regem to exactly 1406 Haste and 446 Hit, whilst still gemming for every socket bonus for maximum Int. It was a bit of a headache, but possible!

I have a question on the searing totem debuff stack. I've been doing a lot of dummy testing with priority lists and talents and I've noticed that the searing totem debuff is very inconsistent. I have observed that the debuff is not up on the dummy for most of my active attacking. This is disappointing as the debuff along with the talent provides a sizable deeps increase. I haven't had a chance to test this in a raid. Does anyone know the mechanic for the searing totem debuff? Or what the debuff relies on (hit?).
Thanks

Hit increases your rage gain, not only your autohit %dmg.

What's the story on 1406 haste? Why would that be the cap for all specs? Seems to be endless for Affliction until you are able to reach 1 sec SB casts with the 5% haste buff from spriests + the 3% haste buff from imp. moonkin form or ret pallies. 8% + that magical number.

You mean move on like feral cats moved on and got buffed or as casters dps moved on and got nerfed?
You see the pattern?
Whining about us whining is so cool, I get it, further more, when you dont even stand neither here or there because "you adapt" or you belong with those who doesnt give a rats ass.

so then Lich, what ur saying is the VB glyph is worth it? because the shield would benefit from it?
also, would the Inscription glyph (60 dodge/15 parry), be better then SoH (22 stam/20 dodge)?
I've got 4/5 t10 (3/5 sanc), with decent gear to go along with it (5960 gs), but my dodge is 22.52% and parry is 17.47%. And I was wondering, should I be reforging for mastery, I see a lot of tanks with like 180 or so hit rating, but exp cap (26 i believe) and reforging for mastery

Can someone please link me to a 4.0.1 download or instruct me on where I can find it? I'm not happy using someone else's data and would like to play around.
Cheers =)

Has anyone done any testing on whether or not we should reforge the haste on our gear over to mastery? I've tried it, and i feel like i'm lagging behind in comparison to what i did pre 4.01.

Main thing you can't see is the cast bar, which just above the cooldown bar and the same size. GCD spark is just above that, and also on the mouse pointer. Many of the features of my last UI are more or less unchanged, and are still things I might call attention to for anyone looking for ideas:
--Auracle box just under player frame to check for all raid buffs.
--Debuffs set off from other auras in a prominent location on the screen.
--Leftover (generally irrelevant) buffs in a small place in the corner.
--Combat text for everything besides incoming damage and debuffs also in an out-of-the-way spot.
As far as the frames, I recolored the HP bar red for anyone with aggro. As I was mentioning earlier, I moved Lifebloom timing off to a single bar just above the frames (so I can always look in one consistent location to know when to refresh).
Also, font/texture combo for this expansion is Arial Narrow and Minimalist (as a general point of advice, I would regard anyone who doesn't use Arial Narrow with a heightened degree of suspicion).

Someone needs to beautify your ui.
