Quick question about Mutilate Crit caps - should I even bother to try and get close to the white crit cap anymore, or are haste and hit more important?
I understand reforging crit to haste and hit, but I wasn't clear on just how far below the crit cap you should go.
I would also like to know more about crit rating at the moment. I seem to be happy with my DPS however, crit just seems so low now after reforging and all. Is crit not a viable stat at this time? Sorry if this has been answer previously but I am having trouble find this topic on many forums.
know this is a somewhat "self awnsering" question but need to get this comfirmed after al lot of different awnsers. Crit vs. Agi vs. Haste? Moast players says agi (which im planning tog gem atm) , blizz gives us crit and some are gemming haste (such as Tun from ensidia, who im 99% sure have tried cata and are preparing for it + i've moastly followed his guid etc)
Agi = 2 ap per point + crit and is probably the one to gem
Crit rating gives more crit than agi aka. more combo points which increases dps (donno if it can compete with the AP from agi)
Haste gives more white dmg (more often) and more often ticks on dots etc ( also here donno if it competes)
bout 6k gs (know it still depends on the gear ) but just to let u know somewhat which gear
Bleeds are our highest damage right now, and we have more than enough CPs to get them up to 100%. Energy regeneration is not a concern in regards to bleeds. Haste also does NOT increase the rate at which our bleeds tick, that's why it's not that great of a stat.
This isn't the beta thread so I'm hesitant to give you an answer for what RSVs are like there, but Agi > Mastery > Crit > Haste looks to be holding true if the beta raids yesterday were any indication.
It would be cool to see numbers with and without shadowflame.
Also, was wondering about gem slots. Swap out +20int red slots for int/haste? Yellow slots with +20 haste? How about the meta slot? still keep the chaotic?
You'll find shadowflame has a suprisingly long range, it appears to me to be about 12 yards (measured approximately to one and a half shadowfury radii (8 + 4ish); so you can safely sit in your normal 110-130% threat range on fights that don't require overly thought-out positioning. Range aside, threat seems pretty comfortable post-patch; I'm not anywhere near BiS, but I've found I can hang out in melee range and still do an unencumbered 20-22k dps without pulling off of an almost equivalently geared tank.
Hello. Im leveling a prot paladin (actually my first toon, that i put aside in favor of my DK for about 3 months) in i found a rotation that i find works amazingly.
Pull with AS
HotR - HW - HotR - J - HotR - Sotr - HotR - Conc.
and by this time your avengers sheild is off CD.
the only time where i break from this is if i get my AS CD proc, then i use that instead of a non HotR move. since the patch came out(i was lvl 72 at this point), i have never been out DPS'd while tanking by a non level 80. and twice i have out DPS'd a level 80 with this. (was real fresh)
my armour is just the Black Smith stuff, with BOA plate shoulders, Mace (damage not healing) and the healing Mail chest.
Seal of Truth
Hammer of the Righteous
Sheild of the Righteous
(forget the name at the moment. the one where Lay on hands gives me more mana im pretty sure.)
(Reduced mana on a seal one, also forget the name)
Lay on hands
and i got a holy pally buddy of mine to try this out. he did 1 dungeon, then came back and the first thing he said was "i'd feel confidant Tanking ICC with this. in all Ilvl 232 or close he was doing 4K DPS. and once you have aggro, i have never lost it to a DPS because they were out DPSing my threat (which my DK does to tanks all the time in ICC QQ)
i am not sure how much this will change as i get the last 1.5 levels to 80, but once i get a few set peices or the equivalent i should be able to get as high threat as i can in Reg Dungeons.
so try it out and get back to me.
and a easy set up that i have found for my hot keys is
1. Hand of Reckoning
6. Hammer of Wrath
if you try it and it works well, please send me a message to my mail box please.
I disagree it seems to me that pally's got buffed with no target limit on their hammer of the righteous now even though their consecration is on a longer cd.( I had misread something thinking tc cd was removed, ty for pointing it out)
Does anyone have an idea about what % is good for our dodge? I was just over 50% and I had two pieces of gear with dodge rating being the only stat to reforge(cloak and trinket-I think). So I did. Now I am ~47% dodge and still seems to be fine. Any thoughts, good choice or bad?
First of all, excuse me for my english. :S
For my first post here (i read this forum since 2years), i'd like to thank all member of DK community (specially frost spec) for your active participate so as to understand our new gameplay and changes.
I've also a question regarding Consider analysis and its haste breakpoint.
I'dont know if its because i didnt understood all the post, but can you confirm that Haste cap have to be between 16% and 17%?
In a another way, decrease the haste score (under 16% then) is meaning decrease the dps? Or is it more interessting to reforge all in mastery regardless of haste softcap?
I've also a lot of difficulty to keep in mind a kind of "dps cycle".
Can you please remind what is important to do (or not to do) to keep a constant dps and rune cycle (such as never use twice the same cast?) because my dps if very unstable with the new classic template.
Last night on ICC25H
I've also made some test with another spec inspired from Seraphthrone post, by spamming HB and nerver use OB. I'd a very close dps to the main spec with OB :
Lord Morrowgar: 17k
In regards to the haste breakpoint, several people have simmed it to be between 16-18%, because of armor/weapons fluctuations and potentially playstyle. It will likely fall in that range for you, you just need to sim each gear/ench/gem choice and find which provides the highest potential dps.
You should be reforging to mastery on every single piece of gear you have unless you absolutely need it for hit/exp caps. You should never be reforging to crit/haste.
Question: Why are you using glyph of DnD as opposed to glyph of FS? FS glyph is a dps increase, especially considering how mastery affects our FS dmg. It may be understandable for a small handful of fights, but for the vast majority you benefit more from the FS glyph.

Thx for your answer.
Regarding the glyph of FS, its a misstake in my post, its replace OB. I'll edit the post
ty wm for confirming, just noticed from armory tun havent been playing in a long time so haste is probably from when he was over caped in arp.
But still crit rating, all stats etc in some sockets if bonus is good right ?
