I left 3 points unused because I'm uncertain. I was thinking 2 points into demonic power, and 1 point in fel synergy.
or
2 in fel 1 in demonic power. more survivability=more damage done by pet. (cant damage when dead!)
I'm very hesitant to use succubus over felhunter. The felpup has the most survivability over any warlock pet, I don't want to attribute its survivability to the lil guys resistances, but...
Heres what I mean:
Felpup 200dps
Succy 235 dps
that maybe true, but on boss fights with heavy spell aoe damage (sapph, sarth....etc) How much longer does the felpup survive compared to the succy. a minute longer? 2 mins longer? At some point the felpup would pass the succ in damage done.
Im concerned because Ulduar looks like it has a handful of fights where spell aoe would wreck a felpup, and completely destroy a succy.
I know a lot of this will be going nuts as soon as the patch comes out, but my question is fairly basic.
A lot of these forums are aimed towards after you already hit 80 and have started to gear yourself. As for me, I am mainly an elemental shaman and haven't been playing a warlock as long as these veterans. It's quite a change of pace, but very fun so far. I am wondering about the best ways to level and be on top of your game BEFORE you hit 80. I literally just hit 70 this weekend, and since I am leveling as afflock, my dungeon DPS is obviously very sad. Also, it seems very useless to gear myself in T6 just to regear at 80 (which will hopefully be soon). I am sure most people see that the quest gear is sub-par at best in most situations, and most of the stats aren't that great. I seriously have 12 hit... My gear was awesome at 60, because a lot of those stats didn't make much of a difference, but I know the leveling from 70 to 80 will be slow and grueling if I can't get what is needed to move ahead.
So does anyone have any suggestions of sources I can look at for noobies before 80 that is for leveling in WoTLK?
I think leveling to 80 is different for me than most of you because I am not coming from a high DPS, leet geared lock pre-WoTLK. And I am on a low horde population server, so instance running for gear is almost non-existent and finding friends willing to help out is low.

Dear randomnewb,
You have received an infraction at Elitist Jerks.
Reason: 1. All posters are to make an effort to communicate clearly.
-------
My thought is that you should press the shift key and not talk about your asinine one-button DPS macro ideas.
-------
This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.
I usually raid as elemental, but sometimes I have to swap to resto for the days that healers are lazy and don't log. The only change (besides a few keybinds) is losing the Event Horizon mod (the big one in the center that tracks Flameshock, Lavaburst, Lightning Bolts, and Chain Lightning).
I personally like having vital information closer to my character (particularly the tracking for elemental dps and my Target's castbar). Information that I like to reference, but don't find very important I have shuffled off to the sides (e.g. threat isn't usually an issue so Omen isn't very prominant).
Don't know why Omen wasn't showing in this first SS, but it shows where the target's cast bar is.
This one shows Omen active.
Finally, my UI is HEAVILY based off the Auralia mod that can be found at wowinterface (although I changed some of the kgpanels and setup one for my TotemTimers mod).
I have a few mods that don't show always, and don't affect game play too terribly much. I'm not a huge fan of Blizzard bars, but I find that come patch days, I tend to get up and running quicker then others seem to, and have less hassle if a UI happens to start erroring.
Grid and Omen sit below Recount a bit, in pretty much that line. Weather issues atm, and it seems I deleted all of my SS's of my shaman, so it was difficult to get a good one today.
I don't think this is the right thread for it. But don't worry too much about leveling spec, if you ask me. Do a spec that helps you finish quests faster. That's what makes leveling go faster. I was down in the Demo tree to 45 points up until Level 78. Then I switched to Afflic and finished a lot of dungeons to get used to boss fights as affliction for the last 2 levels.
Spell hit at pre-raid isn't that important. Most stats at pre-raid aren't that important, to be honest. Just level fast, get to 78, and then start thinking about gearing.
For gearing, you have some easy-to-get options.
You will want the Ebonweave Gloves and Ebonweave Robe. They will give you a big boost in spell hit, which is the most important stat for someone starting to raid. Depending on your guild and your server's Auction House, you can get these two items relatively cheaply. Some other purchase-able gear include the Deathchill cloak and the Titanium Spell Ring.
Next, you can spend the first 25 badges on Ward of the Violet Citadel, which you won't replace until you get to Nax25. The next badge purchase should be either the Encircling Burnished Gold Chain or the Plush Sash of Guzbah. That's over 100 badges for 3 items that you will be using for a while, so they're well worth the investment.
As soon as you can get into Heroic VH, you'd want to start hunting for Mark of the War Prisoner. There's also a crafted trinket with very similar stats that you can get while grinding for the Mark. That'll be your trinket of choice until you get Dying Curse from Nax25.
In the mean time, grind rep (championing is a lot easier for Kirin Tor) for Kirin'Tor for the head enchant. Along the way, pick up the Flameheart Spell Scalpel from their rep reward, too. Another faction to grind (other than Hodir) is the Wyrmrest, for their boots.
That should get you started on gearing.
You might also check out the excellent site Kaliban's Class Loot. You can click the heroic dungeons and your class and see which one you need to pick up.
Hi. Im using basic combat fist/dagger with heroic gear, 200hit/30crit, atm using titansteel shanker in offhand and i though if papercutter is better for that? losing much stats but is energy/poison advantage so big that its worth of using? what about sword of jin with new patch? which one is the best, and for pve ofc.
How do you add Doomguards to the wws' parses, a lock in my guild was asking, and the old link that it give on here was to the wws forums, which are no longer around. Thanks.
anyone know why steady shot never casts with this macro?
Perhaps you should step back from trying to do this because you are not understanding what ! means.
Before I get yelled at...that's only for toggle attacks like Autoshot.
It was a question of how the abilities of the fight are handled. I did not know the answer so I come to the place where I expect to see well formulated, concise and correct answers. Not snotty comments. - eclectic778

this is from the rDPS spec rotation part.maybe i am wrong, and i fail to understand something, but i think you have SB1 and incin 1 mixed there.
anyways, my question is, with this spec , would u weave using SB or incin? incin has shorter cast time, while SB may be required for the crit buff.(not all raids will have an afflilock i'm afraid, and mages want us to take this duty away from them)
Just a quick question about TotT. I raid with another rogue and I tried setting up a focus macro to use TotT on him. The macro works fine, but everytime he uses killing spree I lose my focus target on him. If I use a macro that targets him and used TotT will i miss a swing or two on the boss when the macro switches to him to cast TotT and then i switch back?
Actually, you could add this line in the current focus macro with a slight modification, if you wanted to condense it all into one. Here is my focus macro, which works rather well.
/cast [help] Tricks of the Trade
/cast [target=*NAME*,exists] Tricks of the Trade
/cast [target=focus, exists, help] Tricks of the Trade
This macro should tricks the person you are targetting. If you're targeting an enemy, it will tricks *NAME*, otherwise your focus gets tricked.
