New posting user here, but have frequent these forums for a few years now.
I did my own testing live. My first change was all haste to mastery on DBS and ended up with just under 20k DPS. I then went to another raid lockout with changing all my crit to mastery and noticed about 1000 DPS loss, I then mixed by taking the highest stat and converting it to Mastery and I noticed about 200 DPS loss.
I am not using these theorycrafts as they are just theory for recommending what stats to take. My Hit is around 7% and my expertise rating is 106, I only noticed a few dodges on my white melee attacks and misses on my white melee attacks. I have to continue to try and find the sweet spot where crit gets surpassed by haste in points but from the reading in this thread, Hit/Exp cap is obviously not as necessary as it used to be. I would like to know what people are doing for DPS when they have under 100 hit/exp.
I have also noticed playing with another feral in the raid, and I am not sure but it more than likely are my addons, but I am getting errors and my debuffs are dropping from bosses. I use FBN but I think I should try and find a better tracking addon, anyone have any suggestions other than Druidfocus?
Just would like to discuss/hear different opinions about the spec i have used in last night's raid.
It is 3/2/31 --- i picked up 2/2 arbiter, 1/3 judge of the pure, reason behind this spec is, my average latency in raid is around 225-280ms, and with my gear setup (pretty much full BiS + SM), even with 1/3 JotP only, i have to reforge some haste into mastery. 2/3 Jotp rougly worth about 210 haste, i am not sure how good is haste after hitting soft haste cap at the moment, so its 200 haste (over haste cap) vs 2/2 arbiter or 2/2 seal of the pure. i decided to give it a go during last night's raid, my unbuffed stats look like this: 610 haste(soft haste capped), 37% crits, 13 mastery.
guild log is private, i will just post numbers here:
Lord Marrowgar: 18055.7
DBS: 19471.4 ( i feel i should do more, as had terrible luck with TV crits, only 36%)
so, what's your opinions on this particular spec, is it viable? hows my number compare with similar geared? maybe its viable for people with high latency like me, surely people with under 100 ms, will go with 3/3 Jotp as they will need 800-1000 haste to reach softcap.
I think it has to do with the queuing system being not quite right. I resorted to a /castsequence macro for SB/SF.
I believe this to be the same situation as a demo lock trying to macro together meta+immolation aura correct? You would hit your macro and meta would be cast but when the system tries to cast immolation aura it doesn't see meta up yet thus it fizzles. Trying to cast a second spell, which is dependent on the first spell in a macro won't work in a single click.
Have to go with double clicking or a cast sequence as mentioned by the previous poster.
I have a question about my dps.
Before the patch I was doing 13-14k dps, depends on the boss.
But now after the patch, I am happy if I manage to reach 10-11k dps in a bossfights.
Just did Festergut+Rotface hc and I couldn't manage to get above a poor 9k dps.
Finall question. Is it correct to macro my imp to my abilities like this:
/use [pet:imp] firebolt
You should place the pet command above your cast command. This way, when you spam the button of a spell with a long CD, you are still commanding the pet every time you press it. Personally, I prefer to have my imp attacking my current target, so I simply use "/cast Firebolt" as the first line of all my macros.
The OP has been updated with numbers from reforged gear.
EDIT: And now the scale factors are updated as well. Note that the new gear is above the 1406 "sweet spot" for haste.
I've done a lot of target-dummy killing and I have a spriest in the group for my 5% haste.
While my testing falls in line with 1406 being the sweet spot for the 8th tick of immolate, I can't seem to figure out the math. I have a phantom 5% haste missing in my calculation to reach the 50% haste required for the 8th tick.
Can someone please help me understand what I'm missing?
1. Convert to percent haste
1406 / 32.79 = 42.8789%
2. Account for 5% haste buff from shadow priest
42.8789% x 1.05 = 45.0229%
I'm sure this is basic math for those who have been doing this a long time. I just can't seem to locate the calculation.
Might work, but unfortunately the glyph of long word isn't available on Live yet. Can anyone test this one Beta (I just uninstalled it)?
sadly, my guess is that testing will show that it is the least beneficial outcome....
Since Gbtl is only overhealing, i doubt it will account for the HoT at the same time as the initial heal, so it will have to be the 'whats healed when its healed'. Then since a DKs blood shield doesnt stack with each use of DS, just refreshes, i am guessing that the HoT effect will end up working the same way.....
would be worth testing though, just in case.
I've been reading about Arcane alot and noticed that people have been switching all there haste or some of haste to mastery. I understand that we want our mana to be basically full to do the most dps. So with that being said should we be changing haste to mastery?
Just keeping this here as a placeholder for the relevant discussion, Ill check expertise values when I get home. With reforging I can get to 171 expertise and test there for a dodge, then bump it slightly over and test for a dodge as well.
I'll post my findings after I get back.
I wonder if they changed the way expertise is calculated, lowered level 83 mob's chance to dodge, or something else entirely.
