Just got an "infraction message", because I asked why almost everyone prefers 3/3 war academy to 3/3 incite.
I hope that the following post is the hardest infraction I can do. Please feel free to ban me.
I always appreciated these forums and it was the place for me to go when I wasn't sure about something, had a question or just wanted to follow an interesting discussion.
Thanks to the really ridiculous and self-important forum admins, Elitist Jerks is nothing more than a bad joke to me. I don't need someone, who tells me how many absurd "infractions" I did by composing a 2 sentence-post. This was the last time I put up with such an impudence in these "elitist" forums.
I hope this is the most incorrect thread to post my concern, because I want to be sure that you admins tick off enough infraction by going over your pitiable "infraction-checklist" to ban me.
Quick question is there anything as to much Haste now? I have reforged everything and have HWT and I'm sitting at 1215 haste. But this other rogue on my server is trying to tell me it's to much what do you guys think?
Regarding professions, what will most likely be the best combination in terms of DPS? Currently i'm running with BS/JC as it currently is the best but when i look at the first post it summarizes that Leatherworking will most likely be the best profession we can get combined with Tailoring.
Given that, i'd probably have to drop both of my professions and level 2 new fresh ones for the best results.
Has anything recently changed regarding those professions or is the first post still accurate and should i go ahead and dump the 2 i currently have.
What are the thoughts on 31/3/2 as a viable build? (Using Glyph of Imp, Drain Life as the filler and Shadow Bolt on Nightfall proc only)
I've tested it against the standard build and rotation both on training dummies and in ICC and it has done very well, doing at least roughly equal to that of the standard build/rotation but more than often doing more.
Q: The dps for rogues, Mutilate is great but Combat and Subtlety are way behind right now. Especially Combat, where's that at?
A: Combat needs help. Next beta build, the mastery for Combat is being roughly quadrupled. One of their passive damage spec bonuses will be brought up too. We want it to be up there with Assassination.
At Blizzcon today. Expect Mastery to be significantly better for Combat come Cataclysm if their 4x increase in effectiveness is even remotely accurate. They also touched down on trying to make it more viable for Rogues to use 2 Slow Weapons\Non-fast Offhands in Cataclysm;

Granted this is all very temporary/subjective information but it is stuff that falls under the category of "Cataclysm Rogue Changes" since in 5-6 weeks it may or may not be established in-game mechanics.
Well I just got done watching Blizzcon, and the question I have got banned for was answered. Oh and all the garbage you guys are writing in here is all wrong, according to the game designers. Well it was nice getting no useful information from here , lol , lmao, Rofl . I guess ,I wont be seeing you guys around. Oh aldrina (or whatever), You suck big monkey balls!
Because Frost doesn’t have the points to spare to take spell hit, it is worth mentioning the stat – although there’s nothing much to say except for that it hardly matters! The only ability used which is affected by spell hit is Howling Blast which is, at most, 10% of your damage. Quite unimportant, and simply being melee capped will leave you with minimal resists anyways.
I think a lot of us have pinned our hopes on getting 8% spell hit like Rets.
I was not the one there suggested a macro, infact I said it was a bad idea from the start.
You asked a question about why you wouldn't cast your DoTs together and how that was wasting Global Cooldowns. The question came from a conversation talking about a macro'ed DoT cast. You got an answer as to why that is bad. I fail to see why you're continuing this conversation, unless you had another question/point?
how much is afflictiondrain better than other specs at multitargeting dps (putri/lk)
whats the difference regarding reforging (with favoring mastery)
and 1406 haste as the sweet spot making it a less wanting stat when you pass it?
I'm a little confused about hit rating. In several spots it says hit to cap (27% for DW) and in another spot it says i only need 154 rating(5%?) + nerves of cold steel. I know that this 8% hit rating is for specials to not miss and that any hit beyond that primarily affects white dmg. At another spot in the strat it says to reforge excess hit into mastery, my confusion comes as at what point is hit considered excess. as of right now i have not reforged any gear and am not in all BiS. most likely i will not be getting much in the way of gear upgrades before cata releases. currently my unbuffed stats look like 17.9% hit, 17.8% haste, 24.16% crit and 25 expertise
character is Saetan on thorium brotherhood alliance if anyone plans on looking me up on the armory
thanks in advance for any responces and i apologize if this has been covered earlier and i just overlooked it
I struggled a bit with this Thursday but got her. It's a world of difference from pre 4.0. I did actually do some homework before going in. If you can make sense of it, I was basically trying to calculate what would produce the most amount of healing for the short time that I was out there, so basically cast time or GCD. I went conservative on lifebloom a bit. All of the numbers are actual values observed in ICC unbuffed. I didn't really have a better idea on how to estimate healing that was crit, so it's just averaged. Also the glyph crit and lb crit terms were artifacts from when I was just starting with LB, the glyph crit for RG is the talent and it's really total crit for that spell in not LB crit.
One very odd artifact was output increasing quite a bit with me dropping haste below 1016. I was really frustrated with my druid on Dreamwalker and basically went to bed angry and didn't do much math at the time.
My guess/theory is that the way I got the haste was running some 277 cloth gear + heroic dying light, so I lost the 5% bonus and some stats in general to get to 1026. I dropped basically about 450 spell power raid buffed. On paper, that drop is very close to borderline trade off on 5 strong ticks vs 6 weaker ticks. So, with that said, my guess is that from a scaling perspective, the 5 ticks grew to be much higher in size enough to overtake the 6. Something to that effect. I got the highest output from doing roughly what was stated above. Opening would be roll 1 LB, rejuv, stack the others while in transit. Our disc priest PI'd me I popped tree and the talisman use right off the get go and was pretty much rinse and repeat. LB and Rejuv were the priority and filling as I could. I actually found that in situations where I had to run around, spamming the instant aspect of Rejuv was decent help.
Doing this on 10 man HM by yourself as a druid is pushing it, that's for sure. I screwed up the timing on popping hero too. First two times was like 10 seconds short of finishing her and stacks dropped at 99%. I am so used to doing this fight either pre 4.0 druid or on pally. It was very very frustrating to have almost full 277 gear not be able to push much beyond 28k hps. To further add to it, I swapped to my shammy tonight to do another ICC and destroyed her with 264 gear. Granted, I have a lot of mastery and over 1,300 haste, but the difference was sad. I had her to over 60% before the first portal phase on the shaman.
*sigh* Everything else about the druid 4.0 is great. The only real hang up I think I will have is HM LK, we got back to him Thursday for 10's, and I am not thrilled about 1 LB stack. I really was having my hands full with tanks in P1. *sigh* Starting to second guess my decision for druid as main.
BTW, all of this is 10 man, 2 healing resto druid/disc priest. Sorry for the rambling rant. I'm sort of all over the place on the druid right now. I carry like 400 different options for gear around with me. Seems very situational and I really don't have many 10 man druids to talk to. The ones I do know heal with a Pally or Shaman and don't have the issues I have. For clarification, I am not unhappy with the druid. Just frustrated with these 2 encounters and how our mechanic changes have impacted us.
