Was there any specific reason (a blue post, pvp concern or such) that they reversed the way in which 'Hack N' Slash' (Main Gauche) works? Because honestly, it seems like the easiest way to fix the whole situation is to have offhand hits proc mainhand hits again. It's not like Arms warriors have a way better system in place already or anything.

Sure it edges us back into the 'fast offhand' corner again, but it's not like there aren't two other mechanics already pushing that. If Sinister Strike hit with both weapons as every other class's melee specs main/second attack does I'd be perhaps more inclined to care about a slow offhand, but as it is? Nah.

Here's hoping combat gets another pass, but my first question still stands. Did they ever state the reason?

I'm a bit disapointed about MM now. Tonight I've done a full run ICC 25 HM after the patch; i'm MM (a "rotation" like steadyx4, arcane x2 and CS) and 2 other hunters Surv.
Then, it's very hard stay over SV Hunter, cause Explosive Shot: 10k crit/thick, for a complessive 30k damage overall. CS can crit max for 18k (for me), and has 10 sec cooldown istead only 6 ES, which alone do 30% total damage on boss, with 120+ thick in 6 min fight (assuming LnL procs from trap).

Testing 2 vs 3 pts. Incite

Did some heroic dummy testing to test 2 vs 3 points in incite
(Completely unbuffed and non-debuffed dummy)
@46.04% base crit.
12.93% haste
24% hit
24 expertise
(at the time I did it I didn't realize my gear setup only had me at 24% hit/24 exp, I don't think it matters for the purpose of this test)


250 Heroic Strikes with each build.

2 pts Incite / 3 pts War Academy:
HS crit was 61.2%. (153 crits)
Total HS Damage: 2,650,013

3 pts Incite / 2 pts War Academy:
HS crit: 72% (180 crits)
Total HS Damage: 2,718,581

Results:

3 pts. Incite:
10.8% higher HS crit
~ 2.6% more HS damage (68,568)

Loss of 5% cleave damage, and 5% on...0,1 or 2 slams? per boss fight. Flurry uptime at this crit rate might be a non-issue, I am btwn 92-95% flurry uptime on stand-still fights, not sure if that will change, I suppose it should be a few % pts higher.

Would someone care to comment on how raid buff scaling would affect these results pls.

This will be a non-issue come Cata as we can only reach 2 points in incite at 85.

PS: with a combined # of hits on both tests: 2818 melee, 500 HS -- with 24 expertise, I had 0 registered dodges on the Heroic dummy from recount.

General question on stat priority.

I see a lot of talk about going for 27% hit in this thread.

Is it suggested to aim for this over others. I.e gemming, would it be suggested to go for hit gems over str gems to reach that higher hit cap?

Hopefully asking this type of question is not against the rules

Was is right.

My EQ is not what most of you guys would seem "proper" for testing (no 25-hc items, only 25-non-hc and still the "basic, non upgraded axe" ... and yeah... its my main-char ... ) but 2vs3 incite does result in some many more HS-crits.

testing it at the HC-Dummy spits out nearly the same difference for 2/3 incite.

raiding 10hc/nhc (finished dragon today.... jeah, right now. not 1-4 month ago :/ ) last week 2 inc / 3 war and this week 3 inc / 2 war (exactly same group, exactly same bosses) gave me about 8% additional dmg THIS WEEK. HS is my (our?) most powerful attack and 5% crit vs 5% dmg (non-crit) seems obvious to go for war-ac (5% non-crit and added crit-boni? thought it better than 3 inc) ... but in reality 3 points in incite spits out WAY more HS-Crits thanks to more "incite" procs.

aoe? -> war
massive use of slam? -> war
gimping around like i do with HS-prio and slam only if exxesive rage-overflow? -> INC !!!

At the moment I'm standing at 22expertise (no SoT glyph), it also gives me a 5.50% reduced chance to get parried, but I stand at 176 rating, not 170, maybe the expertise tooltip rounds up to the nearest half percentage, so if the breaking point is 176=5.50%, and your friend has 170, putting him a bit below, but just not showing up do to the number being rounded up on the character sheet, maybe that explains why he only had 1 dodge in that sample.

Forgive me if I am incorrect but I beleive current boss dodge is 5.6% which would require 172 rating, putting the above rogue 2 rating shy of the cap.

* Thrash (Bear) now deals 15% of AP + 243 damage, down from 19% of AP + 304 damage. Bleed effect reduced from 3% of AP + 189 to 3% of AP + 152.
* Swipe now deals 171 base damage, down from 214.
* Brutal Impact now causes victims of Skull Bash to have a 5/10% increased mana cost on their spells, down from 15/30%.
* Stampede now increase melee haste by 30%, up from 15%. Causes Feral Charge (Cat) to cost 100% less energy, down from 50%.

* Inner Fire now increases Spell Power by 531, up from 425.


Holy

* Holy Nova affects target within 10 yards. (Tooltip fix)
* Binding Heal base healing increased by 20%. From 3295-4237 to 3959-5091. Now costs 28% of base mana, down from 29%.
* Prayer of Healing now costs 26% of base mana, down from 36% of base mana.
* State of Mind no longer affects Renew, affects Prayer of Mending instead.
* Chakra no longer works with Renew. No longer costs mana. Sanctuary (Prayer of Healing, Prayer of Mending) now increases healing done by your AoE spells and Renew by 15%. (Old - Only increased AoE spells by 10%)
* Revelations now has a 40 sec cooldown.
* Rapid Renewal (Tier 4) *New* - Reduces the global cooldown of your Renew by 0.5 sec.
* Tome of Light is now a Tier 3 talent, down from Tier 4.

1 Tick Explosive Shot

The opener I find is a ES, SrS, 1sec delay and BA is g2g. Then U have to back off with SS & traps. PVP has been alittle tougher with the Focus management issue. Need to kite with traps while U regen focus, rarely able to stop for a SS for Focus regen purpose.

Previous Lock and Load Procs were played to allow all 3 ticks of ES to occur. Since the Cat Patch ES appears to have only 1 tick, I don't see the 3 separate distinctive explosions anymore.

Haven't seen any discussion on this. Do Sur. Hunters now spam that L&L proc without the usual 1.5 sec delay between casts or still interweave to allow for the seemingly missing explosions.

I remember a blue post opening the possibility for the WF hidden CD to be removed.
I cannot link that post at the moment, still these parses are intersting, and require more testing with any combination of weapon imbues and weapons speed.

There still aren't many sources of this debuff, letting combat refresh it with eviscerate or rupture would be a nice perk. Or have revealing strike extend the duration in addition to its other abilities.
I would give revealing strike up for an expose armor renew on eviscerate in a second... and I don't even care if it didn't buff my dps cause there was already an armor debuff.

I hate revealing strike.

Hello, first of all, thanks to everyone doing test and giving ideas and some results.

Now, reading your post and the next I thought of giving it try just to see if the results were clear enough to change my spec.

My test was not reliable enough since I forgot to take out DBW (crit proccing...) but still, in noone of the test I found 3 points of Incite superior to 3 point in War academy.

My test were with 100HS (=300sec=5min) since most battles tends to 5min duration.

So please, If you can post the results with some logs and info about gear and stats, thanks again.
